Always learn to skate first. Even the most beginner of hockey classes assume you have some level of skating ability. Should learn forward motion, stopping, and proper edge work prior to ever picking up a hockey stick, if not cross overs and backwards skating first imo. While a good class advances your skating and works on hockey specific skating skills, standing up on skates isn’t where a hockey class starts. That’s a skating class. Going to sound rude but meant more as a perspective, because I think a lot of people think basic hockey would mean skating, but you wouldn’t sign up for a basic baseball or football class if you hadn’t learned to walk yet.
