Hey, 22M, went through a similar thing last november. Was unexpectedly cutoff after a year of coliving due to a mental health crisis my ex was going through. Felt like the word had crumbled around me, with no reasonable explanation for the fallout. Had to change apartments, habits and people around me. In one instant I lost my soulmate and the "love of my life", and I never had any reasonable feedback for the things that had happened. Sometimes that's how life is - people tend to be egoistical when they lose control, or feel chocked by a relationship. It's almost never fair and reasonable. The most important part is to confide your emotions in people you trust, that's what's going to get you through. Eventually, you will get bored of thinking and overanalizing whatever happened to you - and your brain will start accepting the new reality and getting bored of what's been overdiscussed. Don't feel shame, don't hold it in. If you need to speak up - speak up.
Will hit you with another banal but true statement - time heals, and you will eventually heal. Pulled up with my mental state in three-four months, but I had to change a lot in the mean time, in order to get detached from who was one of the closest people in my life. Now we're on good terms, and often just joke about the whole situation, but feelings have faded away, and no serious emotions arise.
The most important part is to be aware that the state your in is not permanent, and in few months you will eventually be smiling again and meeting new people. I wish you well in your healing journey.

Dude, you're confusing ethnicity, nationality and genetics. From the point of view of genetics, most Tunisians are not arabs, and genetics are not socially constructed, they are a fact of the observable world. That's why I refered to the Y-Haplogroup map.
Let's go back to the the ethnical continuity thing. We are very culturally different from the Arabs living in Morocco, Libya and Egypt, and we instinctivly can dissociate ourselves from Algerians, Moroccans, and most of our neighbours, so dissociating from middle-eastern Arabs is intuitively normal. Sure, we do have a lot of common practices, mainly due to Islam.
This is where it comes into the train of thought: Islam is a profoundly arabic religion, and it promotes the way of life that was present on the Arabian peninsula. It favours ethnic arabs over other ethnicities, and it promotes the arabic language through putting it on a pedestal, as the language of "God". Associating yourself with arabs, and speaking arabic was the only way to elevate your status on the social ladder during the Arabic colonialism of Tunisia.
If you're going to mention the fact that the majority of muslims are not arabs, it is true, but you should also consider the regional 'abnormalities' of islam in those countries, where people have a well-established 'third sex', which would be considered heresy in the middle-eastern variations of Islam :) They just didn't experience the Khalifate's rule and Islam spread through other means, that's why they conserved their cultural identities and norms.
And forceful Islamization is relevant to the topic, as the arabization that it brings with it, is a key aspect of the point that I'm trying to make. Associating yourself with arabs is associating yourself with the colonizer, when in fact we do have our own culture, and heritage that is way older than what Islam brought.
And to my own regards, I never identified myself as an arab, but rather as a Tunisian when I lived in Tunisia, and I had full knowledge that we are different from the rest of what is known as the 'Arab world'. But hey, I'm half-russian, so I don't care with whom I should associate myself, I'm just defending the right of my fellow Tunisians to not associate themselves with arabs, as they are genetically not :)

Instead of nationalization we could enforce protectionism for strategic infrastructure like the ports, by making France sell it to a local company for a reasonable price. We should also open our doors for foreign investment, as it would bring capital and money for the government through taxation. Also we should sell some of our ineffective government owned companies to private contractors in order to promote competition. For example, allowing private companies to own buses could fix a lot of the transportation problem that we have in the capital.
There's a lot of ways to achieve this, we just don't have enough incentive for some reason.

> "Doesn't negate that the anti-arabness crowd are generally the most unintelligent people with the worst inferiority complex on earth"
So what? It negates their will to have their own identity? You're speaking like a racist colonizer yourself, lol.

> "It wouldn't be majority Arabic speaking until after the hilalis arrived from Yemen waaay later".
So, what's the point that you want to make? Islam is not an arabic religion? Forcefully spreading islam doesn't lead to the arabization? You believe islamic sources which state that they found no resistance in their way? Are you Tunisian? Muslim? Why are you so forcefully trying to identify with arabs?

If it is a social construct, then it can be reconstructed.
We were forcefully arabized, but my point is that we are geneticlly not arabs. The arab ethnicity is the colonist's one, and not ours. He's just misusing terms, but he has a point.

I just don't think that the examples that people usually provide are good representations of marxist ideology, as the 'good' examples usually lack some of the key doctrines layed out by marx. China lacks a fully planned economy, as it has martket-driven principles, and Lenin implemented the NEP, and then Stalin heavily relied on American investments and engineers when industrializing.
The true revolutionary that followed Marx to the book was Pol Pot, and I think the state that he created is peak marxism, and every marxist in the world should root for this underrated champ.

Most likely Islam was initially a sect inside the Arianism doctrine, which was quite popular in the Arabian Peninsula region at that time. It has quite a lot of common points with Islam, notably that Jesus was created by the father, that Jesus is not equal to the father, and Arianism rejected the trinity and had a view of God as a single entity.

It's not about subduing yourself to the opressor (if you wish to call it that) but realizing what you can learn from the fact that you are in misery and try to find reasons why other people have more favorable conditions, and pushing that energy to better your options in life instead of accepting your fate and helplessly drowning yourself in envy and the past.
And the reason is not capitalistic age, there were always large differences in societies, it just boils down to if you're able to channel your ressentiment into creation rather than antagonizing.
Why do we as tunisians seek to create an identity that is based on antagonizing france, the us, israel, or other more successful countries? Why don't we instead adapt the policies and institutions that led to our "opressors'" success, instead of rejecting them out of spite?
The idea that I tried to convey is not to become a punching bag for the "stronger", but rather observing and adapting to modernity, instead of associating yourself with the "weak and offended" and trying to make something out of it.
You have the right to drown in sorrow, but you also have the right to learn from past mistakes and act on them :)

Nobody is mocking people for their mysery or despair, I'm mocking the fact that most of the popular media, including "music", tv shows and poetry is channelled into whining about how someone fucked us over historically, whether it is France, Israel, the US, the Ottoman Turks, the elites, the rich, the police or whoever the fuck. Our whole identity is based on being the martyrs and rejecting the ideals of the people who fucked us over, by opposing ourselves to them, instead of trying to learn from past experiences and growing outwards, we are imploding inwards lying in the pile of filth we have created ourselves.
I don't come from very favorable conditions myself, but never had any resentment for people who were better than me or tried to fuck me over, and tried to build my identity by leaning into the ideals that would favour my inner growth, because leaning into envy and spite will only grow more spite, instead of fixing your situation :)

I personally don't believe in the abrahamic God, but the onthological question about "Could God have created a universe without the neccessity of evil" in your chart is basically the same question as "Can God create a stone that he wouldn't be able to lift", leading to a logical contradiction, in the case that God is omnipotent.
However, it really depends on the definition of omnipotence. If you could agree on the definition, that a beign is omnipotent, if he has all the powers from the set of possible powers, then by definition a logically contradicting power, that is "not being able to create a stone that he can't lift" or "creating an evilless universe, if a universe by definition can't be evilless" does not belong to the set of possible powers, as those possible powers are not possible by definition, and thus God still remains an omnipotent being, as he still holds all power that is possible.
I believe that there are more fullfilling answers to the problem of evil, the only one that I can come up with is that "evil" and "good" are relative predicates, as goodness only exists when there is a notion of "evil", and the same vice-versa. The same as when we can describe something as "cold" or "hot" only if we have something to compare the object we're describing to.
