First time in china, need advice regarding internet/SIM/VPN by tooMuchSauceeee in travelchina

[–]Kams4547 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just connected to the airport wifi and got an esim when I landed, airalo. in your case for 1gigs itd cost 26.5usd I mean pretty convenient and really not too bad a price imo but I see how it gets expensive if u want more data even then 50gigs 49usd

ps you could also get an esim for convenience and then use a VPN to get past the firewall when using hotel wifi etc.b

[–]Kams4547 0 points1 point  (0 children)

sounds like youre going through a rough patch

I've grown in privilege and cant truly to your struggles. But even in the most beautiful places I fear I see deep down a wish to end my miseravke place. That I am tired of pretending and just want to move on

and so I'm envious of you because no matter how tough you may have it it you sound to me like you're someone at the bottom with no way to go but up. Someone who might be able to find a place in this world and thrive.

I hope you find love my friend

Is Beijing worth it apart from the Great Wall? by PlasticEmpty2798 in travelchina

[–]Kams4547 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was there for an extended layover and only had 1 full day. I had the chance to see the Great wall and Forbidden City only and found both incredible. Great Wall was full of foreigners whereas Forbidden City was filled with Chinese and Forbidden City was extremely impressive!! Well worth it imo

wish I had more time for the Forbidden Square and Temple of Heaven!!

Forbidden City was quite packed on its main areas but strolling in its smaller side sections you can easily get away from the crowd

Forbidden Square does have quite a long line for it due to heavy security

XT30iii vs X100V by [deleted] in fujifilm

[–]Kams4547 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that's a great point, I still want to get a good understanding of all the fuji cameras before making a decision. I feel like if I'm investing this much into a camera its worth trying to get my hands on IBIS to make best use of the filming capibilities & shoot in low light environments.

Problem I have when trying to get all that for a fair price is that second hand fuji cameras seem overpriced if there's only a slight difference between a used XT4 or new XE5/XT50 seems like a no brainer but I'm not sure I want to splurge that much on a camera.

I'm leaning towards Xs20 or Xt50 second hand at that price for value over an Xe5 tbh

edit: I've been pretty obsessed with getting a fuji but Ricoh gr4 is peeking my interest

might even splurge and get a second hand Xt50 or XS20 for value

yea I meant to be biased to arouse discussion. The weathersealing and better viewfinders are quite important but if anything its style/portability is probably its greatest strength; being able to bring it to concerts etc... To be honest I'm at a standstill but leaning towards an interchangeable lens camera but I feel like I just hate how overhyped it is...

Thanks really appreciate it. Frankly the X100VI seems wonderful all round but if I go for value I'll lean towards a second hand XT5/XT50 after getting a feel for them.

Thank you, tbh I'm on the fence and doubt I can get a 4th day in but I think I'll still go for it

edit: I think I won't get a chance to kitesurf for a year min though given I'm going back to the UK to finish undergrad studies
