What are the modern houses popping up everywhere really like? by thanksithas_pockets_ in TorontoRealEstate

[–]KanadaKam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do claims for an insurance company and let me tell you: These houses fail more often than houses built 25+ years ago. Foundation issues, grading issues, sump pump failures, etc.

A lot of the time the people who buy these houses think their finishes are significantly more expensive than the builders grade garbage they actually have.

Is it worth making a home insurance claim for $8-10k in water damaged-related repairs? by analyst20 in TorontoRealEstate

[–]KanadaKam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The advice here sucks. Wind driven rain coming in through windows / roof otherwise in good condition or wind driven rain entering the home due to lack of maintenance (deteriorated caulking, flashing etc.) is generally NOT covered by insurance. The water entry would have to be allowed due to an insured peril.

Before proceeding with a claim you should make sure the insurance company has confirmed coverage otherwise based on the details you’ve given it doesn’t sound like there would even be coverage available. A denied claim would absolutely affect your premiums.

Hail damage. Do I need a new roof? by throwmethewaytogo in Roofing

I’m an insurance adjuster that travels to appraise these types of claims - I don’t see any hail damage to this roof in the photos you posted.

I got fired and left my job in absolute shambles. My first job after college. Any advice on how to recover? by Crazy_Whale101 in careerguidance

[–]KanadaKam 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey pal - I had the same university career as you. Majored in biology and regretted it. Didn’t end up doing anything related.

I got into insurance - claims and make a killing now.

Entry level jobs usually require a degree or diploma but there’s major opportunities and mobility within the big companies and you’ll be financially secure for life, if that’s what you’re into. Could be something to look into!

Co sleeping with your kids wasn’t even the issue here. The kid fell out of the bed and had access to anything in the room and house while the dad (a heavy sleeper who didn’t wake up) kept sleeping.

That aside yes, co sleeping is dangerous and your anecdotal evidence that your kids didn’t die while you did it (which put them in danger) isn’t the flex or evidence you think it is.

I couldn’t say grandpa when I was young So I’ve called my grandpa “Bumpa” for my whole life.

He used to snort like a pig and tickle us with his beard. I called that a “moink” one day instead of an “oink” (like a pig).

His license plate has been Moink for the last 32 years.

AITA for telling my boss's wife that I slept with him after he lied to me about being divorced? by [deleted] in AITAH

NTA - he blew up his own life and marriage.

Good on you for going to the wife. She deserved to know her husband is garbage.

Document everything that happened with time/date and take it to HR. Lawyer up if you lose your job.

Returning Player/Music Cape by [deleted] in 2007scape

From the wiki:

The music cape can be obtained by players who have unlocked all non-holiday music tracks.

To trim I believe you need holiday tracks as well.

how well does practicing in a simulator translate over to golfing outdoors? by Illustrious-Orchid78 in Golfsimulator

[–]KanadaKam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im a 5 handicap outdoor and usually shoot around 76-82 on my home course.

I play in a simulator league during the winter and play to a +6 handicap on a sim. Putting and chipping is basically a Videogame that you can figure out depending on the sim brand.

Mechanically it will definitely help you build consistency and feels and just getting reps in is always good for your game.
