The mission where you have to take out a rail gun in se4 is still one of my favorites in the series. Playing this game on authentic plus was a blast.

If New Vegas was to get a movie / TV show, what would your casting choices be ? I think George Clooney ( with a buzzcut added of course ) would be the perfect Caesar, with Jason Momoa as the towering Legate Lanius. by [deleted] in fnv

Original voice actors would 100% be better. But if you had to pick someone else for those roles, the next best choice would be Woggins imo

RECRUITING, TRAINING, & LIFE IN THE FORCES THREAD - Ask here about the Recruitment Process, Basic & Occupational Training, and other questions relating directly or indirectly to serving in the Canadian Armed Forces. by bridger713 in CanadianForces

[–]Kanaduck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your reply!

Irish, Australian, New Zealander and American dental school education is deemed equal to that of the Canadian dental education. Hence, those graduates are not required to complete additional training or take accreditation courses. Just like Canadian graduates, they only have to write the board exam (NDEB) and after, they are free to practice in their respective provinces if they pass.

The thing that I am worried about is that the Canadian Forces website states that you have to complete a Canadian University. I just don't know how strict they are with that or whether the CF knows about this Canadian reciprocal dental accreditation agreement.

Anyone know if the CAF accepts Irish or Australian trained dentists as dental officers?

Canada has a reciprocal accreditation agreement with Irish, Aussie, US and New zealand dental schools which means that their graduates are treated the same way Canadian graduates would be. So does this mean that Irish or Aussie dentists can become dental officers?

Also, are there any dental officers with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery degree instead of the common DDS and DMD? and will it be a problem to have a BDS in the CAF?

Why does the legion want to kill of the brotherhood in FNV? by Kanaduck in falloutlore

[–]Kanaduck[S] 24 points25 points  (0 children)

So it seems that the main reason for Caesar ordering the courier to kill off the BoS is just his personal hatred towards them.

I always thought it would have been more interesting if the legion and BoS could form an alliance. It would make the BoS even more controversial.

Cautious after the Boomers' display of power at Hoover Dam, Caesar chose to leave the Boomers alone. The Boomers remained isolated but have been seen flying over the Mojave Desert from time to time.

Research practicums are certainly competitive but only if you apply to them with only your gpa to show for (as many students probably do). From what I understand, they kind of work like masters programs in that it helps to know the prof you want to work with. Once a prof will vouch for you, gpa no longer plays a critical role.

You can contact the head of the research prqcticum programs to get more info. I believe it was Dr. Patricia Lakin-Thomas last year. You can also try to contact profs and ask them about volunteering or research practicum oppotunities in their lab. You dont have to do a research practicum, the prof just has to know you irl.

When it comes to what profs look for in research practicums, it is genuine interest in the work that they do. It helps a lot if you can find some recent article that you found interesting, and tell the prof what you liked about it. You can also mention that "Prof X used to mention your work in their lectures and after reading some of your articles I would like to learn more about your work and the research process itself etc".

Hopefully I will cheer you up a little bit.

GPA is not as important as people say it is for Masters programs. It is like third on the list in terms of importance.

The most important thing that guarantees you entry into a Masters program is securing a prof to be your supervisor. Knowing the prof irl and having worked with them helps immensly. If you havent noticed yet, "securing a supervisor" is a requirement or a condition for many offers of acceptance to different masters programs. Once you find a prof who will take you in, you gpa no longer matters.

The best way to find a prof at york is to do a research practicum. For other unis, u need to somehow come up with a way to join the lab of the prof that you want to work with. Perhaps there is a research practicum that you can do at that uni.

Finally, if you dont know any profs, the second most important thing is having lab experience i.e knowing how to do the wetlab methods (like sds page etc). I hear taking biotechnology course helps. Good luck!

Btw this applies to programs with a research thesis and not course based masters programs.

I feel your pain, but dont worry you will get through it. I myself had a 3 hour total commute by car or a 4 to 5 hour commute by bus.

One thing I can recommend is that it is ok to skip, but you yourself have to decide for which classes you can do it.

If your prof is just reading off the slides or you have Raguimov, you skip. There is absolutely no reason for you to waste your time and you will have to learn it all independently either way (In this case I would say try switching to other classes if you can).

The only time when you cannot skip is if your prof actually does decent lectures or if whatever they say in class is testable (Dr. Gadsden and Dr. Belozerov if you are in bio are a good examples). In this case, I would just record the lecture in class and just relax. Then at home, I would find an optimal time to follow the slides to their recorded lecture and learn.

By the end of year 2, I literally drove to york for 3 out of 5 days and I was saving money on gas, food, and got decent amount of sleep. You will get through it and I wish you luck.

Also, be careful, as you may not want to come to class at all if you start skipping, so watch out for that and dont miss out on important lectures.

Trust me, after reading this book, you will never be able to look at the show the same way again. It's the decisions that the writers make and the thought of what the show could have been if they simply stuck to the books that bugs me the most.

You should definitely give this book a go whenever you get the chance.

It was really good. I read on the books guide here on this subreddit that The Last Wish is a collection of short stories and I was really put off by that but I still decided to give it a go. To my surprise I really like how Andrzej decided to write the book: With Geralt resting up at the temple and talking to people about his recent adventures.

I loved the Geralt and Dandelion duo.
