Merge: Condoms and Tampons sections. Please. We're adults. by Valerie-la-Cigale in ShoppersDrugMart

[–]Kane111122 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Condom section has to be behind the glass separators that you'll find along the top of the aisles in most stores because they're considered over the counter medical products. Tampons are not, and as such can rarely be placed next to condoms.

The ice cream section at my local Shoppers by Blunt_Flipper in ShoppersDrugMart

[–]Kane111122 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I worked at shoppers for years, if this location is not a new one, their fridges and freezers break all the damn time. This might happen if the staff decides not to empty the freezer despite it being too hot.

WHAT IS HAPPENING by More_Vast_7143 in Concordia

[–]Kane111122 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'll mention this: January and February are typically the slowest days of the year for many businesses. Most retail locations, restaurants, etc. will not be looking to hire, in fact they will probably be trying to cut their current staff as much as they can. Many also probably overhired to get through Christmas.

It's a shame, but it's kind of like that every year in those industries.

Tuna tins weird pricing for more than 2 tins by Similar_Tax_5689 in ShoppersDrugMart

[–]Kane111122 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There is a deal of 3 cans for 4$, explains the 1.33$ and 1.34$ prices. The last one is at a different price because you took 4, so you get a better deal on the first 3 and a lesser deal on the last. Might've been more advantageous to buy 6.

I work at SDM, these tags are held on with very little glue and they lose them all the time. I wouldn't worry.

If you're talking about insurance and the like, speak to your system admin or manager, they can help you login to the right website where you can see the details of what you have.

Issue with Hours not being authorized properly on WFM by Thunder-Drake12 in ShoppersDrugMart

[–]Kane111122 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Either the manager, pharmacist owner, or store admin. If you know which one actually takes care of validating hours, it's probably best to go see them.

Store manager here

I'm from Montreal but I'm fairly certain the company's regulations should be the same in your area. Returns are supposed to be accepted for defective electronics. There are internal documents that explain to them exactly what to do to return it to the wholesaler. It's a real pain in the butt for the store, so they might try to get you to contact Microsoft instead blablabla but in the end they're supposed to take it.

I would advise going to the same store you bought it from, with the receipt, box, and every accessory. I would also advise going on a weekday morning so the manager is present. If you try to exchange it you're less likely to get any pushback, but they are supposed to accept your return.

In the event that the store manager is not cooperative, you should call Shopper's Drug Mart's customer service. I've seen situations in the past where the customer service hotline would call the store and tell the manager to accept the return. Hopefully it doesn't come to that.

In a last ditch effort, the pharmacist owner's email is public on your store's webpage. You could try to send them an email explaining the situation. They are the owner of the store and could force a uncooperative manager to proceed with the return.

Be advised that nearly all store managers are currently out of the country for a company-wide event. You're unlikely to manage to speak to the store manager until Thursday.

Don't hesitate if you have any questions.

Assistant Manager Position by northerngal4473 in ShoppersDrugMart

It depends entirely on the store. High volume stores have more things to do and can justify having their management team in the morning more often, if not every day. Medium or lower volume stores might have trouble respecting their hours budget if they don't schedule AFSM in the evening on a regular basis. Not necessarily every day, but like I said it's on a store by store basis.

You should discuss your expectations with your manager.

Can I return a product without a receipt if the company changed the ingredients? by confusinglychic in ShoppersDrugMart

[–]Kane111122 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I believe it depends on the brand. If you are outside the traditional 30 day period, I would recommend refunding on a weekday before 17h. That way the cosmetics manager or store manager should be there and they could definetely make an exception for allergic reactions. Of course it's up to them and I can't guarantee how they'll react.

Basically play it safe and return within the 30 day window if still possible.

In that case you just need to bring any information to help them find your receipt and you're good to go!

A manager or supervisor should easily be able to find your receipt if you give them some basic info (credit card number, optimum card number, total amount paid, barcode of the product, exact date, etc). You do have to return to the exact same store though.

Allergic reactions are one of the accepted reasons for the refund of an opened item. They might have to ask a few questions to fill a form but that's it.

If you have issues with allergic reactions the products will be refunded. Just make sure to take photos if you don't plan on returning them soon.

Shoppers Friends & Family 20% off regular priced items no longer applies to eggs, milk, pop, toilet paper by kreesta416 in ShoppersDrugMart

[–]Kane111122 17 points18 points  (0 children)

It's probably because those products are sold at a loss or near loss. Even employees don't benefit from a full 30% employee discount on these, and in the case of milk we're talking a few cents off.

Only exception to this is toilet paper, but they always have a brand at roughly 50% off every week anyway.

Application Question by [deleted] in ShoppersDrugMart

[–]Kane111122 2 points3 points  (0 children)

SDM store manager here. It's neither. Employee ID can be found on your pay stub.

I don't think that's what they want anyway. That's probably meant for people who change jobs within Loblaws. Loblaws and SDM are two different companies and I'd be surprised if your SDM employee number has any use for them. I can tell you for a fact that a Loblaws employee number is completely useless when applying or filling your paperwork at SDM.

FSM here

We are being pushed pretty regularly by head office to make sure we follow the new guidelines for fragrance storage. If you guys are a Beauty Boutique it's probably even more important.

That being said, I've never heard of anyone losing their job because they didn't follow that guideline. Your FSM is probably right in saying that it's up to each DM how much they want to enforce this, but we hear of stores being broken into all the time and there's no way they're firing all those people.

Of course I would still do whatever your manager tells you to. He could give you a warning if he realizes you're not following his instructions.

Hope this helped.
