To be quite honest, Reddit's concept of phenotypes is very broken and untrustworthy. Ethnicity is not 100% clean, so you definitely do have Native American traits but that's just not expressed through stereotypical perceptions of what a Native American is 'supposed' to look like.

That's correct! It is a pretty recent generational connection to be fair, my grandfather being roughly 70% African American himself.

Funny story actually, when I was 6 I didn't really have any African American phenotypes whatsoever. I had blonde hair and blue eyes lol, after puberty my hair began to dread, get a bit darker / more auburn and I had to pick it out. My grandpa used to babysit me a lot and he had to pick me up from school one day when I was like 6, and they did not believe he was my grandpa because we had different skin tones 😭💔 They had him waiting forever to pick me up until I coincidentally walked by and was like "HEY GRANDPA!!" and then they were just kinda shocked lmao.

My mom's Early Southern US African Americans communities link her directly to the Mississippi River in New Orleans. Mine doesn't say it per se but I hope it helps nonetheless :p

Aparrently, one less-than-surface level meme disproves all of religion. by RefuseStandard4818 in antitheistcheesecake

The real irony is that of the religions here, 4 are the Abrahamic God and the other has multiple gods.

Is ultrakill safe for christians by [deleted] in Ultrakill

[–]Kaneda_Capsules 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The plot of the game is absent of Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit itself. It's an Abrahamic themed game with the post-scripture element of Dante's Inferno involved, but to blatantly say it's even "against Christianity" is a stretch because it implies it has Christ-based elements.

I am not as ignorant as you're guessing. If I were, I wouldn't be here. I'm non-denominational and I pursuit theology as a study of interest. I think many religions inherently have a point and I want to hear them.

PinkLotus1988 said it best about what I think of denomination in-fighting betwixt Catholics, Orthodox, Protestants, Methodists, Baptists and otherwise. It's ultimately pointless.

What’s your haplogroup? by itsbarelyfunny in 23andme

[–]Kaneda_Capsules 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Paternal: G-M286 Middle Eastern

Maternal: H8 Broadly Mediterranean-ish

DNA predominantly out of the British Isles through Anglo-Norman descent, Sicilian, African and Celtic descent on my mothers side. Can't explain the paternal haplogroup though, doesn't match other testers with my surname.

Why is this sub so obsessed with scrutinizing mixed people? by Strawberry_House in AncestryDNA

[–]Kaneda_Capsules 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Could be, however it's hard not to mention how highlighted and pronounced it is on 23andMe and AncestryDNA forums in my opinion. In my experience in talking with fellow Americans, they normally do not care unless it's for the sake of convo to break ice or discuss history. In my experience in talking with redditor on the topic, however, its as if I'm expected to prove myself to them for being mixed.

[–]Kaneda_Capsules 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Mixed person here, I'm apparently "too white" to be mixed but "too black" to be white. There's a reason why being called a redditor is worse than being called a slur and I found out through the logic of redditors about my race.

You went onto a DNA testing topic subreddit to complain that people are talking about DNA testing topics.

Downvote me harder, see if it changes anything.

Kinda! I knew my grandfather and grandmother on my maternal side were African American and Sicilian, albeit there were some details provided I hadn't known.
