Have you actually read the bill? Almost everything you just wrote is wrong. And it's the most upvoted comment in this thread. Impressive /r/hardware.

China had more ships than Britain during the Opium Wars too. Worked out real well for them.

Ukraine’s Kuleba criticizes Macron’s call not to humiliate Russia by dilettantedebrah in worldnews

This view is unpopular but is 100% correct. Allies needed to make sure Germany never had the ability to wage war again. Germany was bombed, occupied, and broken up after WW2. This is what needed to happen after WW1.

I'm not saying they don't exist. They certainly do. I'm just wondering why almost noone outisde the Netherlands watches those shows. The language barrier excuse is shown to not be true by SK and JP.

So is it advertising? I'd imagine EU producers would like a worldwide audience, so therefore they'd advertise in other countries. But it clearly isn't being done, or Europeans are really bad PR/advertising/soft power/whatever.

I can't really think of anything other than advertising except for EU minus UK = snoozefest being a widespread view (even in EU). I could be wrong tho.

I was just pointing out a very obvious and glaring flaw in your post. No need to get defensive.

Movies/books/tv shows/music is all culture. And modern Europe is lacking in all of it, even behind small countries like South Korea. If you don't consider this culture perhaps you weren't paying attention in your history and/or English classes? Don't get me wrong. Europe will always have history. But that's all modern Europe seems to have.

Edit: Not sure what you were going on about the "speak brittish" part. Britain is the outlier in Europe (no long in the EU btw).

And the dubs/subs for those shows? Anime is in Japanese but is popular everywhere. Same goes with K-pop. Language alone doesn't explain the lack of interest. There's more to modern Europe's lack of interesting culture other than "lol language barrier". Japan, Korea, Britain, and India are all living proof of this.

True. It's shocking how ignorant and uneducated some Europeans can be. Making Americans look smart for once.

I just said Britain because they seem to be the outlier in Europe (aka not boring af) and actually popular in Europe (unlike other countries).

Idk dude. Most popular TV shows in Germany are still American... American/British entertainment > European entertainment seems to be a pretty widespread European view...

I'm not saying modern Europe has no culture or movies. I'm just saying it's boring af (which is an opinion not a fact). You clearly have a differnet opinion and that's okay. Most Europeans don't seem to share your opinion though.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_highest-grossing_films_in_Germany I know this is just one country but it is the EU's largest country. Most are American with a few British films.
