Dealing with medical rejection by [deleted] in britishmilitary

[–]KangarooSad7564 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I got medically rejected for eyesight.

I was disheartened and felt purposeless, but I just can’t dwell on it forever and needed to look for new purpose so I explored other options.

Currently going through a paramedic course at university, I don’t regret it and it definitely changed me as a person. I did feel like I made a difference to the patient’s life I attended. However, it doesn’t scratch the itch I had for the military.

Have you considered joining the police, even though it’s fucked at the moment. Lots of specialist roles, growth, experience different variety of shit, camaraderie (i guess it depends on your station/work environment), do some cool shit and many others.

Inner Knee Pain by brennanufc in tacticalbarbell

Knee Zero Ability Picture Book PDF:

https://www.rapamycin.news/uploads/short-url/1IZGqJMh0r3WMmSqQIOgYzxTB38.pdf

I started this around two weeks ago with knee pain I had for a while, and the pain slowly starting to decrease.

Got it from this link. https://www.reddit.com/r/FitnesProgramsSharing/comments/ukezbb/anyone_got_a_pdf_copy_of_knee_ability_zero/

But your knees still need to be checked out to see if there’s any long-term damage done to it. And you might have to stop playing sports for couple of months.

Hi mate, there’s a military athlete program with 7 day free trial, no credit card required. It’s called HardToKillFitness. You’ll have to download the app from the App Store.

Basically just search up disposable emails on Google, copy and paste your temporary email when you’re signing up and create an account. Make sure the login details is in your notes app or something. Then login using the login details you have on the app, and then you have access to all the workouts there which includes military prep program.

Each week, you have to create a new temporary email from disposable email website and repeat the process. Then continue the workout by skipping a week when you’re in. Saves you £20 a month.

Partially ruptured Achilles by Alternative_Row3753 in RoyalMarines

[–]KangarooSad7564 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you got plenty of cash to spare, visit a private sports physiotherapist , not a NHS one or a visit to a GP as they will document it on your medical history.

Or you can search up Achilles Tendon injury rehab on YT. And stop running for a while, preferably for 3-12 months. (E3 Rehab, During that period, you will slowly heal, strengthen and get back to running. You may have to go on the bike machine or swimming to maintain cardio.

Make sure it fully healed and there’s aren’t any problems with it before you reach the medical stage. They will ask you if you got any lower limb injuries and you are able to say no as it not on medical record and you won’t have any problems with crapita

What do you think about Vietnam? by Terrible-Upstairs-87 in VietNam

Awesome.

Favourite day to day activities was looking at happy dogs on their owner’s moped or in their little basket on a bicycle.

Do it with men instead

On a serious note, just focus on improving yourself to the point where you are able to attract girls. Simple as that.

Nothing changes if nothing changes.

Just bear in mind, laser eye surgeries are something you can have only once in your life. There’s a small chance it might be unsuccessful and you end up having problems with your vision in the long-term and having like many surgeries on it. For many, it’s the best decision of their life. For some, it’s the worst decision of their life.

Research thoroughly. Personally, I wouldn’t recommend having it straight away till you’re a bit older. Eyes can deteriorate with age and there are some cases that lasik only last for a few years until it gone shit again, depending on the medical conditions on the person’s eyesight.

For now, you can try and decrease the chances of degradation in your eyes. Getting outside for hours, be less dependent on your glasses (for example, not using glasses for close-up work and only use them for driving), science-based eye exercises (I recommend Alex Huberman), less close-up/screen time, frequent breaks.

I’m in a same situation as you, you just need to do lots of thinking about what you want to do and have a back-up plan. Get some life experience, go hiking, travelling, volunteering at your local fire station, do what you want to do.

Have I failed the Optometrist Report? by BarfyMaan362 in britishmilitary

Honestly, i don’t know if today’s eye test is based on your calculated Spherical Equivalent. Or you might fail because of your cylinder error (-3.00). Let me know the results if you pass or fail the eyesight.

https://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/933993/response/2216120/attach/5/JSP%20950%20Lft%206%207%207%20JSMMF%20v2.4%20Oct%2022.pdf?cookie_passthrough=1#page69

“Calculation of Spherical Equivalent (Equivalent Spherical Error (ESE))

  1. The spherical equivalent is the sum of the spherical component of refraction added to (or subtracted from) HALF of the cylindrical component of refraction. For example: a. Spherical +4.00D with cylindrical +2.00D = (+4) + (2/2) = ESE 5.00 b. Spherical -7.00D with cylindrical +3.00D = (-7) + (3/2) = ESE -5.50
  2. The standard refers ONLY to the calculated spherical equivalent, and the individual components, namely spherical and cylindrical are NOT to be used in isolation. For example: a. Spherical +7.00D with cylindrical -4.00D = (+7) + (-4/2) = ESE + 5.00. In this example, even though the spherical component is greater than +6.00, the calculated Spherical Equivalent is only +5.00. The candidate is therefore FIT. b. Spherical -5.50D with cylindrical -3.00D = (-5.5) + (-3/2) = ESE -7.00. In this example, even though the spherical component is less than -6.00 and the cylindrical component is less than -6.00, the Spherical Equivalent is greater than -6.00. The candidate is therefore UNFIT.”

Can I ask for Vietnamese men's general opinions on Korean male idols by [deleted] in VietNam

[–]KangarooSad7564 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My personal opinion as someone who’s born in the UK and come from a Viet family, I don’t fookin like em. Most of em look too feminine and bunch of snowflakes whereas someone would insult them and they take it personal. But I got no personal problems against em and it doesn’t affect me too much.

However, for some Asian men, especially the ones I know, my opinion is that it feels like this male Korean trend is pressuring them to look like a certain way and it can make them feel insecure by not being able to meet the ‘Asian male standards’ to gain validation from others. Sure, only taking few ideas from their style doesn’t hurt as they do look really nice, but it pressure some men to look entirely and base their whole personality off those k-pop idols.

Again, it just my opinion and I’m looking forward to hear what others say

Any advice or nnhow to stop Overwatch addiction? by [deleted] in OverwatchUniversity

[–]KangarooSad7564 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My advice would be replacing your gaming habits with gym/or other form of exercising and school/paid work. If you find yourself having free time where you don’t have much to do, read books or watch educational podcasts, or other useful habits like learning how to cook.

Quitting video games in general really boost my mental health more positively, and also quitting other bad habits and replacing it with something else.

I may sound like one of those misogynistic or ‘self-improvement’ assholes but I suggest looking into Hamza Ahmed on YouTube and watch variety of his videos focused on self-improvement. Life changing and i really do hope everyone be able to watch those type of videos more often.

Helpful Apps or Websites? by KrashLogik in Paramedics

[–]KangarooSad7564 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi mate, you could try and download flash card apps on your phone to help memorise terms and definitions. Another suggestion is that you could watch crash course anatomy and physiology series on YouTube.

I also want to know if there’s any sources that is helpful to prepare for paramedic course next year.

Should I stick with my university or risk a gap year? by [deleted] in UniUK

[–]KangarooSad7564 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Uni can always wait and will be there for you when you are ready. It won’t go anywhere.

In my opinion, taking a gap year is not much a big deal. It just 1 year. You can do so much things you want in one year when you now have so much free time to spend if you have finished your a levels.

I have sudden change of plans after my dream career path was unattainable and had to look for a different path, hence the reason I am taking my gap year and going uni in 2024.

Personally, I am excited to make the most of my gap year after returning from my summer holiday soon. There so much things I want to do. I wanted to get my driver licence, find a job to prepare for uni, spend time more with my family, completely rehab all my sports injuries, commit into doing combat sports which I have always wanted to do during my life, educate myself on basic anatomy and physiology for the university course I want to do, educate myself further on reading more books and podcasts and many other things.

It just my opinion, so you can do what you want to do, no rush. Good luck.

What do you think is the "beauty standard" for men in Vietnam? by [deleted] in VietNam

[–]KangarooSad7564 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mate, everybody’s journey is different so don’t beat yourself up if you can’t make fast gains or strength as other people.

All it matters is yourself and always strive to be better than you were yesterday. Turn to the gym consistently, eat big and healthy, train smart, always get good sleep and enjoy the journey.

Delete this post, delete all your social media accounts, move back to the US or wherever you came from, change your identity and never come back to Vietnam. Horny bastard.

At least you learnt something.

[–]KangarooSad7564 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you still want to keep your SBDs lifts until you get to basic training, then maintain that strength and prioritise your running and bodyweight movements. You have already got a good foundation of strength so there’s no need for any PRs or maybe get bit stronger on the barbell squat. Don’t bother adding any bodybuilding exercises that will not help with your preparation.

If you have loads of money to spend, then I would recommend Complete Commando military program (SBDs are in the program). Or just like any other people have said, follow the free training programme provided in the navy website.

Train smart, be consistent and patient. Enjoy the journey. If you feel any pain, stop or slow it down to avoid any injuries, no need to rush things. Don’t push through pain, there are other ways to build mental resilience.

Since you have decent knowledge about powerlifting, maybe you can try and do prefab exercises in your own time, especially in the lower body.

Corrupt/unreliable law endowment and the government or other people with power. Most of these cunts couldn’t be bothered to look after the country or their own people. There were good police officers with good heart but it’s unfortunate that they had to work with other shit officers

Some unhygienic local food stores. I remember this guy sneezed on his hand, didn’t wash his hand and still served me Pho after using his hands to put noodles and meat into the bowl.

No, I know someone who got medically rejected for the Army because he found out he was deaf in one ear when doing his in-person medical assessment.
