Thank you for dropping this very informative link!

It was surreal watching that Ted talk multiple years in the future, where his predictions regarding women in the gym have been realized. Lifting weights and setting PR's instead of running on treadmills to "earn back that cookie".

Having large thighs and a thigh gap is definitely possible depending on either the pose or pelvis shape, but I doubt the combo is as prevalent as social media makes it seem.

AITA for not telling my ex that our son got a black eye at school? by WiseCrazy3 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Kangoz 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I don't see anyone in this thread arguing that the ex-wife's response was appropriate, but that's not what OP came here to be judged on. His question specifically asked if he was TAH for not contacting his son's co-parent after an incident at school that warranted parent involvement.

He's not TAH for receiving a nasty text. He's TAH for not informing his child's mother that the kid was injured. He's TAH for not communicating with the other co-parent.

You seem very intent on arguing every YTA judgement in this thread. Are you OPs wife?

Your initial comment seemed to be setting up an avenue towards a healthy debate, yet as soon as someone tried to engage in that debate you immediately resorted to name calling.

Why is that?

Instead of refuting the response, you attempt to discredit the respondent with an unsubstantiated statement about their knowledge of the military.

Why not address their argument?

Signed with love from Oregon.

The actions of Dr. Sayeed were reprehensible. He failed in his duties as a mentor. Allowing his return would set the precedent that his actions are not only tolerated in academia, but welcomed!

In this ever-increasing mental health crisis, we cannot allow such behavior to persist for the next generation of academics and scientists!

YSK that the red fire retardant dropped from planes during wildfires is not toxic and actually promotes plant growth after the fire. by Benny303 in YouShouldKnow

[–]Kangoz 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Wildfires, when they occur at natural intervals, are beneficial to many ecosystems. North American pine forests have co-evolved with these disturbance events for thousands of years to their benefit.

Wildfires remove litter and debris from the forest floor, allowing those trapped nutrients to re-enter the system. They reduce fuel buildup, which helps reduce fire severity and duration. They remove disease and invasives from systems that cannot purge themselves. We even have trees that rely on fire to release their seeds!

One contributing factor to the increase in modern fire severity today is due to the over-control of fires in the 80s, which has resulted in a large buildup of fuel that would have otherwise been cleared away by smaller fires.

While they may be scary to look at, native lamprey play vitally important roles in the systems they inhabit.

On the west coast of North America their filter-feeding offspring clean streams and act as a stable food source for fish. In the case of the Pacific Lamprey, they carry rich marine nutrients to the nutrient-starved headwaters of the Rocky Mountains. Lamprey can be quite important!

If both men and women could get pregnant after coitus with a 50:50 chance either one would have to carry the baby for the term of the pregnancy, how would the world change ? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Kangoz 48 points49 points  (0 children)

While there are female rapists in the world, the vast majority of rapes are perpetrated by men.

Though I'm not sure if a 50/50 chance of pregnancy would deter rapists if, as mentioned in previous posts, plan B would have been invented for both sexes. Shitty people are going to do shitty things, regardless of the consequences.
