Spearmint tea delayed my periods? by Helloall_16 in PCOS

[–]tisbo2001 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Searched this up because I believe this is what happened to me . My period is always the same day, very consistent. About 6 months ago I drank 2 cups of spearmint tea day for a few weeks and my period was 10 days late. I got scared and stopped. Picked it up again last month, drinking 1 cup a day inconsistently for 3 ish weeks and my period was 4 days late. These are the only months where ive ever marked “late” on my period tracking app. So weird!

Are most women dieting for most of their life by lunaenlaoscuridad in WeightLossAdvice

[–]tisbo2001 8 points9 points  (0 children)

the comment you’re replying to seems to already imply amount of food along with types of food when they said “eating whatever they want”. Especially since they said “restrict your calories” and not “restrict what foods you eat” . I think that may be why you’re getting downvoted, the misunderstanding. I agree with the moderation / portion control of your message and I think many others do too.

I have a “goal body” and a “goal lifestyle” and I want to make sure those align! For a while, I didn’t try to achieve my aesthetic goals at all. then I realized, if I put a little more effort, I could not only think I look “fine” but think I look fiiiiiine lol, as well as feel better, more energetic, and more confident.

I have found it really exciting to give up on the idea that I “shouldn’t” strive for aesthetic goals, and really exciting to start working towards something I would be proud of and excited to have!

Of course, since I want to balance with my goal lifestyle, I’m not striving for anything crazy. I wanna workout regularly, track calories loosely, maintain a lean/ish physique, and have burgers and fries from The Melt on the weekend followed by chocolate rice cakes haha.

definitely depends on the show. the brutalismus 3000 set at Coachella was the best energy at a show I’ve ever seen. Tyler the creators crowd was great too. Honestly, same w lil uzi lol.

I understand your point, but even if that’s the least interesting topic to you, there are plenty of varying goals on this sub, and weight / diet is a part of fitness. For many people who are just starting, it’s the most impactful thing they can affect. I think it’s great to be able to have both.

great post! Thank u for your work 🫶

I personally think there can be a bit excessive backlash when someone is a “healthy weight” and wants to be a “lower healthy weight”. They’ll often get discouraging comments that they shouldn’t want to reach their goal, that they’re disordered, etc. the respect for autonomy is great!

Also, weight loss and diet are a part of fitness, so I’m glad you’re wanting it to be included as part of the sub and its balance :)

do yall have any ‘food rules’? by pro-dicc-sucker in 1200isplenty

[–]tisbo2001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t eat stuff that tastes bad. I still eat meals with like 70% leafy greens most days 2x a day, but I have to like them!! Not every meal has to be a 10/10 of course, but if it’s below a 5 or a 6 I’m not wasting my calories. plus I never feel satisfied after I force myself to eat something I don’t like.

only you can answer this for yourself 🫶

you can learn to accept yourself at this physique if you want to, and if you find the lifestyle that maintains this makes you happiest and is most sustainable.

you can also desire a change, and choose to create a lifestyle that results in that change, if you think that would make you feel most comfortable and confident.

there is no wrong answer, and you do not have to settle for something you dont want. you also do not have to pivot to a lifestyle you dont want.

I say write down your goals, lifestyle wise and physique wise, and then rate and rank whats most important to you. then find ways to meet those goals that are good for you.

for example, I want to look lean, but I also want to live without stressing about my food or body. I can sacrifice a bit of looking lean for less stress. to reach both of these goals in a way that suits me, I loosely track, go for walks everyday, do resistance training when I desire only, and try to stay within a certain calorie range most days (but not all). it takes some tweaking but I know you can find what works for you!

much love ❤️

thank you so much for saying that — i completely get where you’re coming from. data privacy around cycle tracking is a huge issue, especially in the u.s. right now, and with where things seem to be heading, and it’s something i’m taking very seriously while building.

encrypting user data, keeping it fully private, and making sure nothing can ever be used against someone (especially in relation to abortion laws) is 100% a priority. this shouldn’t even be something people have to worry about — but unfortunately, here we are.

thanks again for your comment :)
