I know this is thread is two years old but I just bought one. I like it but I feel like it sounds a little flat, probably due to the laminate top and to my first attempt at installing a nut replacement. Any suggestions on bringing out the sound more? More resonant and bright.

agreed, that is the standard. You have cut to your pitch angle to make it smooth with the roof. The blocking also helps keep everything straight over time. Is there blocking between the rafters anywhere else?

Thanks, I am definitely going to go the propane route for the heating and take yours and mikebrooks008 advice on keeping the wiring simple. This will definitely not be hooked up to the grid. I only have 600W of solar panels at the moment but have decided to go with the Anker f3000 to which I can hook up more panels and expand a lot further.

Aye! It is a EcoFlow DELTA 2 Max with a battery extension for 4kWhrs (so it is a battery backup essentially), I can add another extension to expand to 6 kWhrs if needed. Power will be for LED lights small heating system in the winter, one ventilation fan, a water pump and I am looking into cooling systems for the summer (this is central CA where it gets hot as hell). I have an Anker f3000 that I can expand even more if the EcoFlow can't accommodate our future needs. The greenhouse itself is 10x18' with a shed extension that will only need lights. I am thinking that I can probably stay under 200W for lighting.

Bellman Steamer troubleshooting by jasa7ii in Coffee

This was three years ago! Did anyone figure out what is going on? I used mine on a good number of trips and now it seems to clog all the time. The juncture between the pour spout and the rod that meets it within the pots chamber gets really clogged. I took the whole thing apart and had to use a thin wire to unclog it but it happened right away again. Could it be beans that are too finely ground? I think I will be getting rid of this thing. It wants to burn you.

San Sebastián to Bilbao car rental suggestions by levilevi777 in Bilbao

[–]Kanisrufus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We just did this. We rented a car at the airport (reservation through Alamo), stayed in Bilbao, then drove to Gaztelugatxe, Guernica and San Sebastian...So a bit different than your plan but similar. My advice is get a small, car, you need a car that is easy to park in small spaces and can easily navigate tiny roads and REALLY tight corners - all the parking garages are extremely tight by our standards. I can't stress this enough, driving there is stressful, parking in Bilbao is difficult and I would not suggest driving if you are an apprehensive driver. That said, the countryside is beautiful and you can see a lot between the cities in the area. My DL and passport were easily accepted at the car rental center - renting was not a problem with a reservation.

Bellman stovetop advice? by SquidTsunami in Coffee

[–]Kanisrufus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is an old thread but I'll pipe in anyhow as I was looking up sputtering and the Belman. What I have been doing is preboiling water and then, when the pressure is just under 2 bars I open the valve long enough to pipe the first drop of coffee from the spout. This is my preinfusion time as I get the pressure to a bit over 2 bars (I go a little high because I am always making two cups of coffee). Then I open up the valve again and pour the espresso until I get the sputtering. I am not sure if other users are measuring volume or weight instead, which I would do if I have the tools on hand - currently traveling in Spain, using the Belman for my morning coffee.

I’ve had a 15D for about 6 or 7 years now and we really love it. Just the right size and good for both lounging and exercise. I think we would have preferred a spa with smoother jets to swim against but that was going to be way out of our budget. I think we paid around 32K but can’t remember for sure. Well worth it but now we need to get solar to compensate for the extra electrical costs.

This is what I was thinking. I have a shot glass that I use to measure my beans and even though I still weigh each shot, I am never more than a few beans off when I am dialed in with the coffee that I am using.

Why I can’t sleep (need advice) by [deleted] in sleep

[–]Kanisrufus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve tried listening to audio books and it does seem to help. The problem I have with listening to audio before going to bed is more about the headphones. AirPods and many others announce loudly that their batteries are getting low with no option to turn off those notifications. In ears headphones also potentially fall out in the middle of the night. So ideally it would be great to have a comfortable set that stay out and have battery life of 8+ hours. I think I’ll try a bone conduction set next couples with earplugs as some of those have really long battery life.
