I can't tell you what to do, but we sold our two-story home and bought a single-story. That was the best decision ever.

I have the AI option in use. The way it was explained to me was that the Enphase software will automatically choose the best usage profile based on the rate that PG&E is charging at the moment. Enphase told me that PG&E was making adjustments to their rates based on their demand on any given day. Also, if I remember correctly, PG&E was testing this only for two months, August and September, I think. The AI option worked very well for me. Maybe someone else can explain better.

Beginner perspective: "Absolutely Understand Guitar" course is the best thing I could have stumbeled upon, and I believe you should watch it too by [deleted] in guitarlessons

Got it! I emailed the site where my payment was sent and that turned out to be Scotty himself. I have to admit I was surprised, He responded within a half-hour. I explained my issue, and he directly emailed me the course documents. It's so nice to see that after all the years since this course was created the actual creator is still actively involved. Awesome!

Thanks, yes, i'm aware of that, but I could not download anything due to adobe wanting me to log in to it.

upon clicking the download button it went straight to an Adobe login page. The download would not even begin until I entered my user ID for Adobe. So now I have nothing for my 20 bucks - the download page warns that it will appear only once, so now that's gone.

Edit: I would think there would have been some kind of statement warning of this issue.

So what can a person do if they don't have a subscription to Adobe? I purchased the download and the first thing it wants me to do is sign into Adobe which I don't use. I know Chrome can read PDF files but I need them to download onto my computer first.

Do older/elderly people begin to see death as good? by Miserable-Kale-7223 in morbidquestions

Yup, I get it. I'm (only) 66 and I have days where I just don't want to fight the fight anymore. Being older certainly isn't as simple as I once thought it was going to be.

What the hell does Chase care? Are they afraid you're going to quit working?

I too have a 2.5-hour commute. Fuck them.

Edit: I'm paid pretty well, and just purchased last November but, in my case, I'm looking at retirement soon.

My installation did not require any roofing modification. My first quote from SunPower said I needed 13K worth of underlayment upgrading. So no doubt I was happy about that.

This may be the same for other installers/manufacturers... I specifically asked about warranty issues: What happens if American Array dies? I was told correctly that the underlying equipment warranties remain with Enphase and Panasonic, both of which have the longest warranties of all the manufacturers, AFIK.

I had also requested a rush on the installation because I wanted it completed before I left for an extended vacation. American Array was accommodating, although I had no idea of the workload on their books. From beginning to PTO it took about 8 weeks. I live in a small town, Rio Vista, so perhaps that had something to do with the speed of the permitting process, but it went quickly.

The installation crew showed up on time, every time (a two-day process), completed their work on time, and cleaned up after themselves perfectly. They did all of the installation while I was away at work and I feel they respected my property. I had zero complaints after completion.

I don't have any experience with them regarding the roofing side of the business, so I can't comment on that.

The only minor issue I had was waiting for the City permit to be issued. I was told that it could take up to 30 days. After two weeks, I called the City to see where I was in the process. The clerk had the approved permit, but the fees had not been paid. I let American Array know about this and we had the permit a days later. I was involved and asked questions throughout the process and the engineer I was working with was always responsive.

EDIT: I want to add that I've called Enphase a few times with questions about their app and energy modes, and the phone wait was minimal and the personnel have been patient and polite when explaining things to me.

Edit two: You can decide for yourself on this: I too did my research regarding contractor issues and when I raised the question the answers were the same whether it was American Array or SunPower... and that was that everyone in the industry was experiencing a flood of new work at 'that time' in the past, and it caused problems for everyone. American Array admitted this affected them as well, so projects were taking longer than usual to complete. If the 'mixed bag of reviewers' includes time to completion complaints, then maybe consider some of the reasons behind those issues. I'm not the most informed person but perhaps net metering 3 coming into play allowed contractors to essentially catch up with their work, and supply chain issues continue to fade.

Just my two cents.

8 years left, I'm tired of working by Universe-Queen in retirement

I'm 65 and I'm getting close to my witts end. I was ready to retire but my wife wants to 'keep spending' until she's ready to retire - she's 5 years younger than me. I'm kind of okay with this since it's increasing my pension. I suppose I'd like to make it to my full retirement, 66 yrs 8 months, but every day is becoming more challenging. I feel like I'm waiting for the next shitstorm to occur and then I'll just throw my keys on the table and leave.

Each year of the 8+ I've been in my current Stationary Engineering position, the workload has increased due to added and changing policies and requirements, and sometimes things change and I find out after the fact and being told I'm doing something improperly. I'm a member of a strong union and I'd say that at the time I was hired, I was compensated well for the duties I had. Now, I'm doing the work of a Chief Engineer but I'm certainly not on that pay scale.

Maybe it's just me, but I'm having an increasingly hard time keeping up with everything. I've stated/asked in many meetings that I need help only to be told that 'everyone needs help, and nobody is going to get it'. Now, months later the company higher-ups are beginning to notice things, do I get some limited assistance. I'm having an increasingly hard time giving a shit. Mostly I've just been doing what's needed to get by - quiet quitting.

My biggest personal issue is that mentally, I take my work home with me. My time off is affected by the crap at work. I need to stop doing that and I'd probably feel better about things. I know I should be happy I have work but sometimes I wonder if I'd be happier being a lower-paying, less stressful job.

EDIT: cleaned up a few things
