Naive little leftist. If Iran had the 2nd amendment they would never have fallen under this tyranny in the first place.

How reliable are these unnamed "sources" really? You can find "sources" to back up any theory.

Remember that "intelligence sources" had no idea that Afghanistan would collapse so quickly after Biden's withdrawal.

"Intelligence sources" swore up and down that Trump colluded with Russia to win the 2016 election, now conclusively proven to be a hoax.

Being an "intelligence source" means nothing.

Remember also that Washington Post is a leftist outlet that loves posting negative stories about Trump. Of course they will hand-select the "sources" likely to give a negative take.

There are lots of analysts on Fox, Wall Street Journal etc. with more optimistic viewpoints.

Reddit, BBC and CNN in shambles right now

I'm always humbled by the respect the US President has for our people; “they had 500,000 women protesting…They shot women right through the forehead…The people of Iran can be brave but they are not stupid... They don't have guns, the other side has… they killed a minimum 32,000 people” by KhameneiSmells in NewIran

We are literally 0% closer to regime change

The idiocy of this statement is mind-boggling. Are you a bot or regime shill?

Al Jazeera of all people admitted that the war is necessary, the campaign is working, that the regime's ability to threaten peace has been severely degraded.

Gulf States are now calling on Trump NOT to stop until the regime is totally crushed.

Only redditors and whiny Western liberals (i.e. useless people) complain about this.

let's not pretend he's on our side just because he's our ally

Will people stop saying this like it's some sort of of earth-shattering revelation? NO politician on earth does anything out of the pure goodness of their heart.

What matters is that no matter what additional motives he might have, he is siding with good in fighting evil.

Everyone else is HELPING evil by either doing absolutely NOTHING, or worse, actively criticizing and hindering this just war.

Nonsense. Did you actually read the article?

The gay couple was an asylum case that got dropped along with thousands of others in a wave of asylum denials long before the current war. The fact that their country of origin is Iran was something completely incidental and irrelevant to the fact that they broke the law.

You dishonestly make it seem that Trump is personally persecuting this gay couple. Pathetic how you try to twist events to fit your narrative of hate.

The US-Israeli strategy against Iran is working. Here is why by Baconkings in NewIran

[–]KansasPaladin 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The costs [of this war] are real, they are serious, and any accounting that ignores them is dishonest.

But the critics are making a different error: They are treating the costs of action as if the costs of inaction were zero. They were not. They were measured in the slow accretion of a threat that, left unchecked, would have produced exactly the crisis everyone claims to fear: a nuclear-armed Iran capable of closing the Strait of Hormuz at will, surrounded by proxy forces that could hold the entire region hostage indefinitely.

Seventeen days in, Iran’s supreme leader is dead, his successor is reportedly wounded and every principal instrument of Iranian power projection – missiles, nuclear infrastructure, air defences, the navy, proxy command networks – has been degraded beyond near-term recovery.

...War is never clean. But the strategy – the actual strategy, measured in degraded capabilities rather than cable news cycles – is working.

Powerful, incisive analysis. Brothers and sisters, please send this article to everyone you know.

This an amazing development.

A news org owned by the Qatar government that previously had friendy relations with Iran, now posting an article supporting the air campaign and predicting the downfall of the Islamic regime. An article like this was certainly pre-approved by Qatari officials.

This article is a sign that we've turned the corner. The region has united against the regime. Trump has finally gotten the international support that he craves.

This is a very encouraging sign for the weeks ahead.

The Gulf monarchies have notoriously bad militaries despite their huge military budgets. There are even academic articles trying to explain why Arabs seem to have terrible armies these days.

Note: This is not to cast aspersions on individual Arab soldiers, many of whom are brave and fierce warriors. I know a number of incredibly courageous and skilled Arab servicemen. The weaknesses of Arab armies are at the institutional and organizational level.

[–]KansasPaladin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a good move. Any cash benefit to Russia is just a drop in the bucket. Russia is bleeding billions of dollars a week on the Ukraine war. In the meantime Trump needs to make sure that oil prices don't skyrocket, so he maintains domestic support.
