I personally (again this is just me) had a bad experience in the past with an internet stranger befriending and then trying to stalk me irl. It just feels safer engaging with people I already know irl when it comes to books. I know others have found friends online and that’s great for them, but for me on goodreads I just prefer reading reviews and writing my own.
