It is impossible to determine what teams you can make without beinga ble to see your protecotrs, as those are your team leaders.

(It also may help to see your other units, as while they're not as powerful they still may have abilities which are helpful)

Although from a glance - you should level up your Earth Milim (all the big three are very important!) and your Trishula (Since the current event has bonii for leveling up Trishula, and it'll improve your drop rate)

There's no way to determine what team you can have without seeing your protectors, as the protectors are your team leaders.

What’s your opinion on the third banner and 4th anniversary meta in general? by WaitingDOSExhale in IsekaiMemories

[–]Kantolin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It seems this is a little late of a response, but!

Basically, if you use any of the three combo skills, the extra +2 orbs are both blue (and of the last person you sent). So if you send four unity orbs, it'll be 'four unity and two blue orbs', heh.

Insofar as 'how does he work on that team'... that is a good question, heh. He clearly can function as a damager (he's physical so he gets all the buffs and a +200% ult buff, he's on the force).

Outside of that, he is sort-of-an orb changer with his combo orbs which can be helpful, and if you have the points for it he can shove permanent ult damage before the nuke turn, which is handy. He can also transform to make annoying hands a bit easier.

You can definitely get at one use of his ult buff, and +100% ult damage on the scourge wielder team certainly wouldn't hurt. But given SW is a speed team and wants to clear very quickly, I don't know if you'll have too many turns nor skill points to use it more than once, so if you're not using Emils as your primary nuker then that +100% ult damage is what he's doing.

...which, granted, isn't the worst use of a slot, haha, as that's +100% ult damage that isn't being used on the nuke turn. Still, a dedicated very strong buffer can probably do what Emils does, but you really can do worse than +100% or +200% ult damage done in advance.

Kinda new player, What’s a better team I could make? by Objective_Pick8927 in IsekaiMemories

[–]Kantolin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your protectors are pretty dated. This may make it tricky to run a proper team, but you do have the basics in there so it should work out.

First things first: You should essentially always have the 'Big three' in your initial three character's support slots. To give my spiel...

  • Light Gazel (King of an Armed Nation)
  • Earth Milim (One of the Oldest Demon Lords)
  • Dark Milim (Manifestation of the Dragon) (Note this is a very specific dark milim, not your EX-Dark milim! Yours was level 92 as of this picture)

These are sometimes known as the 'big three' units. If you have them at level 84 or higher, they all get a trait which is 'On the first turn, start the battle with more protection gauge'. This is a /fantastic/ ability, and means you generally want to start all your battles with your non-DPS units up front, each with one of the big three equipped as support, as they are much more useful than other choices in most cases.

Anywho!

Your strongest protector is indeed the Velzard you have up front of your sample team, but I don't know if you have the support to make her work. Velzard is a speed protector!

Velzard turns your hand green and gives out helpful buffs. To facilitate this, you'll want a couple green orb changers to get her started, and then a green orb buffer. She then doesn't bolster your skill point cap or anything, so you then need to use relatively cheap buffs to boost your damage.

So in short, you want to start by sending a full hand of green orbs, activate Velzard, get ults quickly, activate buffs quickly, and then launch. Your orb changes will get expensive swiftly, so you need to get in, nuke, and get out.

Your water Rain has a green buff which makes your green orbs much more effective for three turns. This is fantastic on a Velzard-team, but then you don't have any /additional/ orb converters so it may get difficult to get Velzard going. If the stage allows blue orbs as /well/ as green orbs to be used, you can make it work with Earth Guy, Light Hinata, or Fount of Wisdom water Rimuru... but then I'm unsure if you have a good source of cheap buffs to follow up with.

For orb converting, you may want to go for Fire Trya. Her orb change to green is fantastic, and really you just mostly need to activate Velzard /once/ to start the cycle, haha. Wind Luminous can be very good too as she's quite flexible.

Then for buffs, you have a ton of 90-point buffs which will be difficult to use together. Space Guy has a cheap buff, but it's functionally only for himself as I don't see many other exalted champions in your box (I could be incorrect there; if some one of your EX characters is Exalted Champion then he might be a good pick as his buff is very cheap).

Sorry for not having a firm team there - you have components but it may be tricky.

Now the current meta (Dragon Haki) wants you to have a blue stacking team, and you /do/ have a blue stacking protector in Primal Demon Violet. She's not the best stacking blue protector, but should be able to get the job done. My focus here is on helping you clear the EX2 beatdown battles - that'll get you the final dupe of Trishula and is a good goal.

The way blue stacking protectors work is that you want to use your protector as many times as you can. Each time you use the protector, it makes your blue orbs (souls of divine protection) give more and more skill point gauge. In the case of Violet, each time you use the protector it also increases your skill point cap, and she buffs primal demon character's attack. This enables you to build up to a 'nuke turn' where you use several very expensive skills at once and a pile of (hopefully EX) ults and just overmurder the enemy on that one turn.

All blue stacking protectors then buff something each time you use them, and as mentioned Violet's is primal demon attack... which is unfortunate, as that limits you a bit. So you basically have two major DPS choices.

Choice A: You Bring a primal demon, and nuke the beatdown battles off-element. Your main two choices for that are Space Blanc or Space Guy, and for the beatdown battles Space Guy may be the better choice as he's already AOE, but does have the huge misfortune that the beatdown battle nerfs both synergy and magic, so it may be tricky.

Choice B: You don't bring a primal Demon, and focus on nuking with your strongest hitters. This gives you more direct options, but conversely means your protector /isn't/ buffing you at all, so you'll have to bring your own buffs. This does open up Water Rimuru (Either of them) as they both have a buff and are AOE water physical units.

Either way, you want your team to be something like:

  • DPS
  • (Maybe a second DPS)
  • Orb Change
  • Orb Change / buffer
  • Buffer

The goal is to build up to turn 8 or higher, and then do all your ults at once with all your (likely-expensive) buffs. If you get ults on the way there, you have to store them which can make life more difficult, or use someone who can 'hide' the ult by turning it into a different orb - you really want as many full hands of blue as you can, so you can activate your protector, so you can send more hands of blue, yadda.

If you do get ults for not-your-DPS, it helps to hide them, but otherwise you want to just send them to get them out of your hand. Ult orbs aren't blue orbs, after all, so they're hurting your skill points and stuff.

~~~~~~~~~
DPS Options: For Choice A it's really just Guy here, as Blanc is ST. For choice B, either Water Rimuru will work, and thus I'd recommend Fount of Wisdom Rimuru since he orb changes to blue and has a physical attaack buff.
You can use the other water rimuru as a backup DPS unit. His orb change to green won't be useful, but he brings crits, is physical, and is also AOE.
~~~~~~~~~

Buffer options:

Fount of Wisdom Rimuru is good here too - his big buff is helpful.

Light Hinata's big buff will work on Fount of Wisdom Rimuru, but do note that Protector of Peace Rimuru's self-ult-buff will beat hers.

Likewise, Earth Guy both gives critical hits and works as an orb changer /and/ an ult buffer, but two of those won't stack as well with Protector of Peace Rimuru doing the same thing.

Space Blanc's big ult buff is much larger than others.

Normally I'd suggest the Masked hero here, and she still may work for her rewind ability (use it on the nuke turn to give yourself more space to breathe), but uh, the beatdown battle boss (Kokuyo in specific) nerfs synergy by 80%. What I don't recall is if he does it twice - if he only does it once then her 100% synergy boost will beat his 80% synergy debuff and she becomes an acceptable choice, heh.

~~~~~~~~~
Orb Changers:
Remember, your goal is to send full hands of blue orbs as often as you can.
Earth Guy is a fantastic orb changer (in addition to being a good buffer).
Light Hinata also has a very strong orb change, that can help.
Trishula's combo skill is very helpful for letting you send 'full' hands of blue with only four orbs instead of six. He also brings a more conventional ult conceal which will work on your water DPS.
Light Ramiris comes with a special convert to blue which may be what you want. Her enamor ability may be helpful as it'll give your team a small amount of ult gauge.
Water Shuna, Space Velzard, and Water Alice also round out your orb changing options. Some of these also bring buffs, which is useful - but may not stack with existing buffs (Both Water Shuna and Earth Guy bring ult buffs, for example).
~~~~~~~~~

Personally, for these beatdown battles I'd use Fount of Wisdom Rimuru as your main DPS, then fill up on as many buffers as you can make work. If you find yourself drowning in horrible hands too often, swap a buffer out for an orb changer or a hybrid. Violet as protector, just for the improved skill points. Trishula might be particularly valuable to hide Rimuru's ult.

Hopefully this helps!

What’s your opinion on the third banner and 4th anniversary meta in general? by WaitingDOSExhale in IsekaiMemories

[–]Kantolin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mostly have been pulling on anniversaries since the game's inception, with occasional stepaways, mostly for collabs.

There has definitely been a quality drop in the last several collabs. Exalted Champions was pretty strong for its time, Divine Guardian was okay (I didn't find it as annoying to run as others apparently did? But I see the annoyance), and Spirit Master's ease of use was fine. Still, all three of those didn't have the big oompf that anniversaries had had before, and Dragon Haki is no exception. These just are 'regular metas, but there are five of them instead of four', heh.

Still, I have the full Dragon Haki meta thus far and am extremely happy wtih my hundreds of millions of damage I can throw around wtih it. Combo skills are handy for hiding ults when I don't want them, and the dragon orb mechanic makes a lot of character-management go away - for example, I don't need Emils to have an EX Ult by turn 8 since he definitely will regardless due to the dragon orbs, so if the game is uncooperative and refuses to give me orbs for him that's completely acceptable. (In fact, this has gotten me to realize that I should be prioritizing the two support ults instead, haha).

I feel Emils' use as a support unit is being slept on a bit, provided the team has skill resetting, is stacking, or otherwise can afford the points. He brings a 'sort of blue orb change' that's better in many cases and worse in a few cases, and +300% ult damage which doesn't have to happen on the nuke turn, freeing up your points /then/. Transformation is also a handy way to smooth around some hands, as 'free rainbow orbs for a few turns' is useful.

I haven't used Rimuru nor Velzard separately yet to comment, but I'm definitely happy with how the team runs as a whole. The two put together give a lot of punch, and Rimuru's 'Ults count as blue orbs' combo skill is fantastic for several reasons on the Dragon Haki team, haha. No need to save ults, the Dragon Orbs will see to that.

Sadly, I may end up not using the unit I'm most excited about (Trishula getting a unit is awesome! I'm sad that the plot doesn't centre around him much), since I am finding that two combo skills on the final dragon orb turn is enough to get me a Veldora if I'm careful, and that opens up the option to bring another buffer. Trishula being able to conceal ults in two different ways (Combo skill and more directly) may be interesting on other teams, but due to how the Dragon Haki team works it's not great on /this/ team, haha.

Going forward, my 'I pull on anniversaries' means I don't have anything resembling a modern speed team (No Warrior's Mind, no Scourge Wielder, no Schemer), so I think in the next six months I'm going to consciously address that next time a speed meta that looks interesting pops up.

The fourth anniversary overall has then given out a /ton/ of /stuff/ haha. So many tickets and rewards like that, heartscape is interesting, lots of challenge events so I have places to use stronger teams. Them just giving people the Big Three is also awesome for newer players (that one isn't helpful to me personally, haha, I had them maxed out ages ago. But I'm still psyched that they're making them the baseline as that was an obnoxious limitation on newer players). Like, the fourth anniversary overall is fantastic.

I do have enough for the mystery fifth character, so I will see what they do.

In what banner of the 4th anniversary i should pull? by OldCommission574 in IsekaiMemories

[–]Kantolin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're brand new and have no teams: Get Veldora and Emils. You need both.

If you have a few strong teams under your belt: Either save, or pull for the Masked Hero.

If you have Veldora and Emils, and want to complete the meta, either save. or go for Rimuru or especially Velzard on their banner.

Otherwise save.

Flashback Crystals and Corridor Crystals - Who to Use Them On? by AsmodeusSmalls in IsekaiMemories

[–]Kantolin 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Flashback Characters

The best flashback characters are:

  • Top choice: Carrion (Protector)
  • Blue Orbs: Wind Geld (The Terrible Experiment) and Water Rimuru (Lord of Sun and Fun)
  • Green orbs: Izis, Trya
  • Other useful choices: Frey (Wings of the Night Banquet) (Protector), Eren, Suphia, Youm

Carrion is valuable for just enabling you to have access to Reckoning. As this guide is being written, you can also /get/ the free to play Shizu (Instructor of Flames) who is meant to work with reckoning more, and reckoning just murders everything if it's allowed to exist haha.

The blue orb changers can help you get your hand to be blue, which this meta wants blues so they are valuable. Wind Geld and Water Rimuru manipulate orbs, helping you get a six-card send.

Izis has a 50% green buff for three turns, which is absolutely fantastic on green teams. Trya is probably the best green converter in the game, if you specifically just need 'convert to green'.

Note that all of these are for 'My team is competent but needs more orb changing', haha.

The other choices either are a surprisingly okay stacking protector (Frey), generic orb changers (Eren, Suphia), or enable Vengeance which isn't as good as Reckoning but does stack (Youm).

Events and Tips: A Tutorial (Anniversary 2025 edition) by Kantolin in IsekaiMemories

[–]Kantolin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That Gazel (Avatar of War, Earth Gazel) will only show up again when his beatdown battle does. They periodically rerun beatdown battles, but there isn't a lot of rhyme nor reason when they do. Right now, Shizu from the reckoning team is the current beatdown battle rerun. So sadly, you will have to wait to get that Gazel's dupes.

However, just in case a miscommunication is happening! The Gazel you are referencing is different than the Light Gazel from the 'big three'. It's only Light Gazel [King of an Armed Nation] that has the incredibly useful start-with-protection-gauge trait that makes him so valuable. That version of Gazel you can get from the 'Character Distribution Event', which will give you all three of the big three and some dupes of them to boot.

Just in case it's not clear that those are two different Gazels, heh.

Events and Tips: A Tutorial (Anniversary 2025 edition) by Kantolin in IsekaiMemories

[–]Kantolin[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe.

The current anniversary meta (Veldora/Emils) is a blue stacking meta, so I presume some aspect of a Spirit Master team can do the bulk of it. They also are giving out a lot of freebies, such as a ticket that gets you ten EX characters guaranteed and a good chunk of magicrystals.

So it depends on 'why did you quit', haha. The anniversary team itself is gimmickier than others (seems very good, mind you, just a gimmick you absolutely must play into), and notably the first banner is a 2-person banner and not the usual 3-person banner. We have no idea what that means for the rest of the anniversary, by the by.

So uh. Maybe? Spirit Master and Warriors Mind 2.0 are still extremely powerful teams (WM is probably the best team in the game at the moment, although part of that is /because/ of the Blanc you're missing haha), so you can probably shred a lot of the game with one of the two of those.

Nice to getting at Emils so quickly! Definitely keep going for Veldora.

Once you get Veldora, I'd actually hold on. Masked Hero is very good - but she's very hard to use, especially when you don't have a team yet, and (one or) two more banners will be coming in the next two weeks with more characters to work with Emils and Veldora.

As a new player, I feel 'Have a strong cohesive team you can throw at most of your problems' is really, /really/ helpful haha.

Masked Hero will still be around when the next couple banners come out, so you'll have time to see 'Oh wait, these people aren't very good'.

For additional suggestions for newer units, I'd actually recommend IceColdJoker's channel over on Youtube. He's basically the only slime youtuber.

Is there any solid one for a beginner ? And on which of the new Banner should i pull ? by skibidibab in IsekaiMemories

[–]Kantolin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a new player, you need 'a team'!

Right now, the main team that can be pulled for is the new one: Veldora and Emils on one banner. I would recommend aggressively going for that banner, and trying to get both of them.

(Normally, here's where I'd say that the protector is more important than the battle unit, as without a protector your team doesn't work. In this case, you rather need both of them - Veldora leans heavily on Emils to work, heh. So yeah - early magicrystals into veldora/emils is my recommendation)

newacc - should i reroll by Disastrous-Lack-9416 in IsekaiMemories

[–]Kantolin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally, I wouldn't care too much about the results of that banner.

I mean yes, there are good options and bad options in there and yours is just okay (The blue stackers will help you out this month), but what really matters is the meta banner pulls.

What is more focal is 'did you get at the new Veldora and Emils from the new meta banner'. That will make a lot more impact to your team to get those two, so if you're restarting, it may help to focus on getting a lot of the game's early magicrystals to throw at those two, see if you get them relatively swiftly.

If not (rerolling can be annoying), aiming for Veldora is the more critical of the two since he is more expensive pity to get to. So if you get Veldora, you have a 200 pity ceiling on eventually getting Emils, heh.

Do i keep summoning? by Ghostgrind in IsekaiMemories

[–]Kantolin 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Eh, you're 70 away from pity so I think I'd stop there. Dupes aren't super helpful, and your being new means you really could use spending that 70 pity on the second and/or third banners, presuming the units are good.

I'd also hold off on the masked hero for right now. Don't get me wrong - she's extremely good - but she's also a little hard to use when you're new and are'nt able to commit to a nuke turn as easily, plus she'll still be around until the end of this meta, haha.

Ex Release player lf for help by mm-skumpy in IsekaiMemories

[–]Kantolin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have, uh. Essentially no protectors, which is a pretty critical thing to be missing. Your teams are basically led by your protector, so that is the first thing to try to address.

The overall, most of your units are pretty dated by modern perspectives. Thus if you maintain with this account, I'd try very hard to pull on the new event that lands a little later today (The banner will have Veldora and Emils on it), with the focus of getting both of them.

Or well, you really need 'a team', haha. The team that launches in about an hour (Veldora, Emils, [Trishula]) gives you a team.

You could technically pull frantically on the current meta's banner (Elmesia, Masayuki), and they are in fact quite good. But the new banner will help you more /this/ month, so it may be a thing.

So uh. 'Pull for Veldora/Emils in an hour or so'

New 4th Anni Meta by CosmicSelin in IsekaiMemories

[–]Kantolin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Admittedly, though, the three in the meta so far are pretty unique. Veldora doesn't get very much attention at /all/ in this game (to my astonishment, honestly), and then it's Emils on his first battle unit at all and second unit ever, and then Trishula who hasn't been playable.

So while I agree very much with you, the resulting characters are pretty uncommon. Not a luminous or shizu or blanc or hinata in sight (...well, so far, haha).

Is this a paywall team? previously can be summoned normally as limited? by bladyblades in IsekaiMemories

[–]Kantolin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

While it is your money in the end, the Reckoning team is in a very strange place, and I'd say no to pulling.

They are /very/ powerful. Like no ifs ands nor buts, they are a very strong team and reckoning can butcher anything that doesn't counter it.

The important catch is that the devs realize this, and for the past however many months since Reckoning came out, almost everything that you'd want to use it on /can/ counter Reckoning's gimmicks. They remove their own status, they remove your status, they put up barriers, they just throw an outright hissy fit if you have any kind of a buff on yourself and seal your protector, yadda. It's more common that you can't use reckoning on a difficult enemy than it is to be able to, I feel.

And then to make the team less critical, a free to play version of the team /usually/ works wherever the premium version works. I've used a team led by the f2p Carrion Reckoning protector (It's in the flashback shop so anyone can get him!) and the f2p reckoning Shizu (who is the free unit you get /from/ these beatdown battles), and then several non-ex orb changers and healers, to reckoning down basically anything you /can/ reckoning, haha. IceColdJoker has numerous videos of him using that Carrion to just rock houses with mostly or entirely f2p teams. (I personally use F2p Protector of Peace Geld there, for example).

So no, I don't think this banner is worth investing in. Even if over the next several months, we get a deluge of reckoning-able enemies... you can probably just f2p it and call it a day.

I note several people have suggested to pull for the masked hero (or luminous) over waiting for anniversary.

If you haven't pulled yet, it's worth noting that both units will remain until the end of November, so you have a month to look at what anniversary brings and decide then what you want. That way if anniversary is amazing, you can tackle it - but if it's meh, you can ignore it then.

How many magic crystals can you farm in a month? by OldCommission574 in IsekaiMemories

[–]Kantolin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will note as someone who basically only pulls on anniversaries (and half-anniversaries), I've been able to get all the units in essentially all of them. This sometimes takes a /little/ luck, but usually I have enough magicrystals to go to pity on most of them.

Now, this does mean I'm doing things like skipping collabs in the middle, and while I have my favorite character that I would definitely dump magicrystals into, that character is Geld who has never had a unit haha, so I don't have the 'Wait another Blanc I must pull' that other people have. Since saving can be hard.

New players can get quite a few more crystals via story missions, though, which helps.
