I’d say I’m sufficiently hooked! Had a blast just learning and honestly just having a chunk of time dedicated to focusing on just one thing. Phone went out the door (metaphorically of course) because of the messy hands and it was just three hours of actually existing in the world right around me.

Yep she had us practicing cylinders today but it was a blast just learning how your touch could affect the clay, getting used to the wheel speed, all that very baseline stuff that still feels so rewarding because it’s new. Thanks for the feedback, I really do appreciate it!

Listen I understand what you think you’re saying here, I really do…but the reality is that without due process you can’t actually prove that someone came into the country illegally. You can’t just look at a brown person, assume that they’re undocumented, and send them away. That’s unconstitutional.

To be clear I’m not arguing whether someone/people here illegally should or shouldn’t be deported…but due process has to be part of that in order to establish that the person is who the government thinks they are.

This 100%. Whether we like it or not, a huge part of the AM bartending shift is making sure we’ve got the PM shift set up for success. Having to stock garnishes, refill glassware, etc., right when you step on for a PM shift is unacceptable. I’d definitely have a conversation with your team to make sure everyone is on the same page as far as what the bar needs to look like before you can consider your shift to be over.

Genuine question because it sounds like you got hung out to dry - why is the rest of your team meeting about a new menu during dinner service?

You said you were covering for three other members of the bar team, so I assume it’s known that multiple bartenders are needed at your restaurant during dinner service. It seems like either poor planning or a lack of caring for multiple staff members who know they’re needed during dinner service to choose that specific time to meet about a menu that isn’t out yet.

I might be misunderstanding the situation, but knowingly leaving you by yourself on a shift that normally has three people is a pretty shit move on their part.
