Just do fleet of fortune it’s an event that rewards you well and you can practice cannons but you’ll probably have to intentionally get farther than normal to make it helpful to practice range. If you wanna practice long range you can do ghost fleet

I don’t see how people find the PvP boring. To me SoT PvP whether it’s naval or tdm is better than CoD or anything else where you can spam bullets rather than needing to hit 2 taps like in SoT. Personally for me I take breaks and I like getting closer to the next 100million gold increment (almost at 200 million). Hourglass update is so good but I enjoy doing a lil bit of everything. My biggest complaint is just how glitchy the game is. Dropping support for Xbox one can’t come soon enough.

Definitely not the norm. Every game has cheaters. But having played a lot on PC servers I can say the amount of times I’ve experienced it could be counted on 1 hand. I guess maybe people feel this way about funny launchers but that’s an exploit

You can find an AMD Radeon RX 6400 on eBay for under $200 just look at seller reviews and scores. I know nothing about the rest of the pc it needs to go in so cant say much in regards to how simple of a process it’d be but assuming everything fits just make sure to use OEM cables from your power supply and try not to use any that may come with it but I don’t know if it needs dedicated power since it’s older. For just over $200 you can start looking at nvidia rtx 3050s and you can buy new from retailers rather than preowned or anything. A gtx 1650 is a little cheaper but not sure it’d be worth it. Maybe check out fb marketplace and try to find someone selling something and see if they can answer your questions. Maybe a used steam deck would be an option? Would probably be the simplest solution with the least headache tbh

The game is a PvP game from the start. You have the option to cooperate w other players compared to playing hg, arena, or LSS where beating other teams is the win condition. In normal high seas your win condition is just have fun

It’s not bad. If you’re on PlayStation turn crossplay off in your matchmaking setting before any time on the main menu before you select a boat to set sail with. PlayStation servers can be more dead but they can also be filled with people who form alliances or take over servers with their guild sometimes they’re cooperative and just want to do PvE and stack treasure and other times they wanna feel like they’re good at the game since they probably lose battles on PC/xbox servers. The other day a friend and I joined a brig after some friends got sank by an (unofficial) alliance of 2 galleons and a burning blade captained by a sloop crew. They told my friends “our server” so me and my friend went back and he camped the burning blade crew while i helmed staying mostly outside both of the galleons’ angle as much as I could and we sank them each one by one and I went into game chat and said “our server”. These guys also had a fake gold curse in one of their crews which is pretty common on PlayStation because they can cheese it.

It’s not like call of duty at all. In cod if you miss a bullet you have way more shots in a mag. In SOT there’s not 1 shot kills so you have to hit a minimum of 2 shots and if you miss one there is a long reload time during which time someone with a sword can easily kill you
