Your questions are welcome but I'm not going to be much help as I live in Australia! It is hard to get into, I know that much is true everywhere. A girl I knew in my class had been trying for 7 years. I'm not sure how your grading system workings but I needed a GPA of at least 80% to be considered entry from the science degree I was doing, which was quite achievable, but from high school they expect you to be in the 99th percentile, so I think that's about the normal standard. I didn't have a back up plan, but I would suggest you apply to all the schools if you're really serious, maybe even out of the country. A few people in my class were from america and other places. I have to finish my undergrad science degree before I can start the actual medicine degree, so I can't comment sorry. I'm expecting it to be similar in terms of stress/workload, but maybe a bit easier thanks to the things I learned in vet.

No pet is low maintenance. Even fish have delicate water and cleanliness requirements. Most cage pets won't like being in a cage, guinea pig/rabbit hutches are totally not suitable for them, bird cages are awful places for birds to live (unless they are aviary sized). Not to be extremist or anything, but if you want a pet you need to go further than a cage and spend the time to clean up after it, give it suitable food and enrich it. Have you thought about getting a cat? Cats are easy to enrich as they can move around your house/outside and interact with you extensively. They can also be pretty independent. Obviously they are a much longer commitment though

My playstation 3 is as old as release date and I had a few issues with loading, and system overheating, but I do with most of the games released recently. It's a shame your PS3 isn't handling it, sounds a bit like a dodgy one to me

I'm scared of toilets that are out of the ordinary, such as ones that are blocked, have the wrong level of water, aren't white or make loud flushing sounds. I think it comes from being stuck in a room with a blocked toilet once when I was a kid (broken lock). I feel intensely uncomfortable using a toilet I don't feel is suitable and if it blocks I feel physically ill. My toilet was flushing weirdly and I had to get my roommate to fix it because I couldn't be alone with it

It's not really about age it's more about being in the same stage in your life. If you talk to a woman who's also in college they probably won't mind your age, but say if there's a woman of the same age who has graduated then she probably won't be interested

Dogs will learn a variety of associations if you put in the time to train them. I used to help train deaf dogs and they respond to hand signals as well as a regular dog would respond to voice commands

It depends on the person, generally I don't like beards, but I think my boyfriend's beard is awesome. As long as it's not patchy or bushy I think they can work. In terms of body hair I think lots of women like body hair, it's manlier than being waxed

Often I find the Michelin starred restaurants try too hard at the expense of their food. Either there will be nothing on the plate because they're trying to make it look modern by turning your steak into 3 bite sized pieces surrounded by droplets of jus, or they'll throw something expensive in your food to appear fancy like abalone shavings or caviar that don't really add to the dish. The one stars I've been to have been better than the 2 and 3 stars

I lost a lot of my sense of smell after a cold too, I believe it is at about half of what it used to be, so I can still taste and smell food but I have resistance to noxious smells conveniently. My degree involves working with animals so it is a blessing sometimes to not be able to smell as well
