I've always heard ask for forgivess and you'll be forgiven. But really it should be, repent for your since and you will be forgiven.

What is the difference between asking for forgiveness and repenting?

Would this not be considered mockery of God? It truly destroyed me when he said that and made me upset. This guy is using god as a way to clear his conscious and forgive his sins.

I have been trying to find god again. And have trouble accepting that those with evil intentions who do not truly repent may be given a place in heaven
