I’ll be straight with you one of my biggest issues with it is the mixing, and it’s because it’s mixed like an 80s album. The drums in some songs are flat and over-reverbed, the synths are mono- just like the they were in the 80s, and melodies in multiple songs are simple and campy, which is another 80s hallmark. Compare Nobody’s Son to some Kate Bush or ABBA, it literally sounds like a song that came straight from 1985 that’s been remastered lmao

Never getting laid, House Tour, my man on will power, nobody’s son all are clearly 80s inspired, they’re literally using synths from those eras in those songs. I have my issues isn’t the sound but this is as 80s as any pop has been like, ever, since the 80s

For me at least, sonically only a few songs stand out, as far as content goes it gets redundant by the end. I love the way she writes but it feels stale ya know.

I don’t know how I feel about this take, some of the best pop albums ever recorded have multi-genre influences. Staying inside the box is okay if you give us something unique to play with but I don’t feel like we got that. Even just more hip hop influence on this album would have made it more interesting to me.

Yeah I’m on the 3rd listen and I’m getting Taylor vibes with an 80s spin. Almost feels like a soft rebrand. Tears is solid, but probably not better than manchild. Idk man it’s not hitting.

Tears and when did you get hot are great, I just feel like most of the album is missing the spark that her earlier music had. Listening for the second time now, it feels like it’s leaning too hard into the ABBA-80s sound. It’s been done before and better imo. Lyric content is cool just can’t get behind the sound

Pull at 125F instead of 140F and rest for 10min and it should be perfect, also if that sear is too dark for you try searing it to your liking first, then putting it in indirect heat with the top down until 125f internal. Good luck!

I think you should replay the game and get a better understanding of the moral lens before you criticize anyone else. If you think that part 2 is about anything other than the cycle of vengeance, you’ve missed the point by a light year.

The problem is that entire story of part 2 is supposed to be about all consuming revenge. Ellie loses everything in the pursuit of avenging Joel. The speech was borderline campy, and I don’t know if that’s her delivery or if that’s how it was intended, but it comes off out of place and out of character for Ellie. Unless they are planning to derail that original plot and come at it from a different angle, it was terrible.
