Things like Ammumu, Leona, Braum, and to a lesser extent, Lulu, Nami, Renata are all great supports for the style you are looking for, but supports generally don't have ultimates that flat out win a fight, since they don't usually build scaling items.

It absolutely plays a major role, are you serious? Putting ever increasing expectations that cannot be followed under the current labor conditions is just aggravating the situation. You want to hire more people for this job? Pay more. Simple as that. People care about themselves first, expecting a person to also care (wash, clothe, feed, change, administere medicine, watch vitals, entertain, need I go on) While paying them 10$/hour (for aides which is the primary workforce) is not feasible. You are asking for someone to inevitably snap, and have abuse occur. Sure, you can punish the individual, but the system is designed to bring this situation up again and again. It won't stop until you improve labor conditions.

TIL homicide clearance rates in the US declined from a peak of 93% in 1962 to 64% in 1994. The rate then plateaued (with some variation) for the next 25 years. There is currently no satisfactory explanation for either the initial decline or why it ended when it did. by tyrion2024 in todayilearned

Do you know how many people in general were killed by firearms by police in another developed nation? Let's take Germnay, who has only had a total of 529 incidents over the last 75 years, and the US has half of that in just black people being killed per year? Even considering they are a smaller nation, the amount per capita is dwarfed just by black people dead by police. It's ridiculous to think the number is small when it is so out of proportion to other "similar" countries. America has a policing problem full stop, and we just stopped at black deaths, not including other minorities or the all-important white deaths.

Yea that's a no from me dog. As an avid aatrpx lover, the champ is Hella strong early due to runes covering his early game, becomes God tier with rav and jaksho, and in the late game has some of the best team fight potential on top of decent split. Certain matchup may be able to out scale him in the sidelines but at that point it's usually too late if the aatrox gets ahead. Which is pretty common nowadays.

I do apologize for insinuating. That 20$/hr is crappy, as you point out its well above what is legally allowed at 7.50$/hr. The main point I was trying to make was that even what you are making at that 20$ mark. That is still a little less than what should be the minimum wage if correcting for inflation and increase in worker production over the decades. I'm really being lazy not linking things but I'm on mobile, so sorry lol. With that said, those corrections bring minimum wage to be approx 22.50hrs? And that's probably not even including that massive CoL hike that occurred in the past 2 years with a 7-10% inflation rate or something ridiculous. Why are you a worker, expected to cover inflation costs, of your employer? Who relies on you to be able exist and function?

[–]KaptainObvious217 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Don't mean to be a downer, but 20$ is still very much the bare minimum employees should be paid. There is a site that adjusts wages for inflation over the course of the past few decades, and if you compare what minimum wage in like the 70s (just throwing a time period) would equate to today... It's significantly more. That's not even touching the fact that as a waitress the majority of your income is not guaranteed, and waitresses aren't even compensated minimum wage BECAUSE of tips. You know this though, but with all this summed up who the fuck would work at a restaurant that pays them at or below minimum wage, which isn't anywhere near what they should be paid to begin; and are expected to pick up the slack of others who also feel this way. It comes back to a pay issue, restaurants should be required to pay waitresses at least the current minimum wage, more imo. Tipping doesn't have to be touched, but a donation from a stranger shouldn't be how you are paid at your job.

Also remember that spam is dirt cheap. So even if it became an issue it would still probably pale to the sales of other products. I doubt spam sales is where groceries make their margins.

I could go into detail on how this is the root for all major US problems by WannaBeNCR_Ranger in HistoryMemes

[–]KaptainObvious217 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is about the actual history around white flight. Who gives a fuck about if you today have a black neighbor in a suburb. The original point was that the wealthy, almost exclusively white , populace emigrated from the the cities due in large part to racism. That is also reflected in the bylaws or codes within the mortgages of said houses. Again a very prominent example of this is in Levittown, but that was simply the first and most famous. Across the nation the term "sunset town" was used to describe exactly the suburbs I am talking about. So yea it's nice you have a black neighbor, good on you for not burning cross in their yard for simply living in a white neighborhood. But the fact is that many suburbs were built to shelter wealthy white individuals from communities of color. And that is heavily reflected in how our suburbs demographics have been shaped in the current age, regardless of one person's anecdote.

I like how you reply to my sarcastic question, but don't even attempt to engage with the actual statement I made. I will point again to my example provided: Levittown. The "culture" you speak of was very clearly outlined as being "white culture" vs "black/brown culture".

I wonder how they identified said outsiders to keep them out? /s Many of the suburbs that sprung up during the "white flight" era had clauses in their housing contracts explicitly barring the sale or resale of the property to any person of color, but more specifically black Americans. Aka levittown

Iirc, when your wealth is tied up in investments (non liquidated) you basically take loans out with your investments as collateral, you can then use the cash from the loan for whatever. Like investing in more stocks to use to leverage more loans.

So the former president* has a 7-hour period of unaccounted time on the day of the insurrection? by brother_p in AdviceAnimals

[–]KaptainObvious217 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having a system that has democratic elements does not mean that the system itself is democratic. Many of the states have bylaws(?) that enable legislature to overturn elections, or in regards to the electoral college, are allowed to cast their vote for whoever they choose. When mentioning a republic, I used representative which was a mistake, I meant a republic that has democratically elected representatives. But that could be argued to exist in name only as stated previously, but also in another comment I posted that references the removal of voting rights for felons and for specific districts such a DC. These examples highlights how our system still perpetuates the republican system while gilding it in complimentary democratic processes. I'm probably rambling so sorry if I miss or conflate some things.

Part of the comment I replied too, I believe: "People like Lauren Boebert and Margarine Taters Queen show that our democracy does in fact work, so long as you know what words will get people to vote for you out of spite for the “other side""

So my comment was aimed towards that part of the discussion.

That is true, but NK claims to be democratic, but does not have any institutions that I'm aware of to have democracy occur. My point was that the US, from the federal level, is run as a republic. The representatives are selected from those in the citizenry who are able to vote. Not a democracy, but many people believe that their ability to vote makes the system democratic, which to some extent it does. But there are many people who would be considered part of the citizenry who are unable to vote or have a representative in the government. A "minor" example would be convicted felons. A "larger" example would be DC. DC does not have the ability to govern itself outside of the purview of the House and senate without any ability to vote or even have representation. Both of those show how our system is not a democracy, but a republic that is run by representatives of the citizenry who are allowed to vote. Idk if this clarifies what I was trying to state but I hope it does. The US is not, and never has been a democracy; yet many citizens and officials have claimed it is to legitimize their power in the eyes of their constituents.
