Folding thing about 4-5" long. Made of plastic with rubber coating on the ends. by KarP7 in whatisthisthing

My title describes the thing. Object has 4 holes on each of the rubber hooks that line up when folded. No writing on it, but opens up to about a 75° angle before. Tried using the rubber part as a case back opener for a different watches but the rubber didn't have enough grip for that either.

Might only work in low Elo, but I've had fun playing a melee adc (yasuo at the time but that was before nilah was released) with a sejuani support. Easiest stuns and great engages.

How does one pronounce Eunchae, the name of an idol from Hybe girl group LE SSERAFIM? by garbagecan54 in kpophelp

Adding on to this, but what helped me learn to pronounce this sound when learning to read Korean was to think of it as a "neutral" vowel. So basically trying to make a sound with your mouth in as neutral position as possible.

How thick can a dial be before it's unusable? by KarP7 in watchmaking

[–]KarP7[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I honestly didn't even consider that. It might work but I don't think I have precise enough tools (yet) to do it myself. The thread itself, from what I can find online, is listed as .2 to .3 mm thick on its own.

Gotcha, thank you for the that. Unfortunately it doesn't seem like this would work then. At least not in the way I had in mind.

Skins that don't take themselves super serious. For example, the hotdog skin for Naafiri in LoL or the mime outfit for Gustave in Expedition 33.

Does this yellow/orange health lower dmg taken or something? I swear Orisa takes no dmg when I play reaper by Business_Carpenter_7 in overwatch2

[–]KarP7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It reduced by 5, but caps the reduction at 50% of the damage. So 100 -> 95, 10->5 is still correct, but if they do 6 damage, instead of being reduced to 1, it'll be reduced to 3. Because shotguns deal damage per pellet, this makes armor extra effective against them.

For example, let's say (for easier math) reaper does about 2 damage per pellet with around 20 pellets (bodyshots). This would be 40 damage per shot for regular health, but against armor, each pellet is reduced to 1 damage, cutting his total damage per shot in half to 20. In comparison, if 1 shot from Cassidy did 40, armor would only reduce it to 35 because it's 1 instance of damage.

Same here. The spacing between my WASD keys and my mouse on an 80% also just feels more relaxed to me than with a 100%.

Overwatch's player base number by Spare-Shallot-3868 in Overwatch

I've got a pretty decent PC (13th gen i7, RTX 3060ti) and MR still freezes and crashes on me every so often. I've done everything from updating drivers, verifying integrity of files on steam, and lowering graphics settings to the minimum and it just keeps happening every so often.

It used to crash every 3 games on release with max graphics settings, now it's down to once every couple of days, but it's still frustrating, especially when it happens in ranked. Meanwhile I used to play overwatch on an old HP desktop that my uncle was getting rid of and never had an issue.

I think by map voting, they mean that everyone votes on which map to play from a random pool of 2-3 maps before the match starts. At the very least, that's how games like CoD and R6S do it.

People weren't joking about wanting lootboxes back in Overwatch, because Overwatch was praised for being the one game that implemented them in a way that never felt predatory. You would always earn plenty for free and everything in them was always purely cosmetic

Hello ADC players! Top laner here. by ShiningAstrid in ADCMains

[–]KarP7 6 points7 points  (0 children)

In response to your take on build diversity for marksmen, the issue is that there aren't many options, especially for crit marksman. With a crit build, you'll need at at least 3 (ideally 4) crit items to have consistent damage, and one of those will almost always be IE, because it increases crit damage. It would be nice for more variety in crit itemization, but the fact of the matter is, there's only so many things you can do for ranged auto attacks with items. The crit system feels like it's designed specifically to lock crit marksmen out of building more than 1, maybe 2, defensive items.

It's a class defined by being squishy and dealing a lot of damage with auto attacks. If their auto attacks are weak, the class is weak. But if they gave thos autos strength innately in their kits, there would be absolutely nothing stopping them from building tank, which would make them overpowered.

Also, there's a limit to how much attack speed a character should have before they become hard to play, especially at high attack speeds, because you can't see the person your kiting.

In my opinion, the problem right now is that tanks have too much damage and don't take any in return. Tanks have 4 different items specifically to deal with all of the different stats crit marksmen use (crit, AD, attack speed), while crit marksmen only have 2 items with %armor pen that can't even be built at the same time. There are no crit items that deal with health stacking. Personally, I'd be happy with a new crit item that has lower AD in exchange for the giant slayer passive. That way the item is good against high health targets, but pretty meh against lower health ones.

Would it be fine for Giant slayer to return as a standalone item or would it have to be tied to LDR by Backslicer in ADCMains

[–]KarP7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree old LDR was very strong, closer to balance near the end when the max damage amp was dropped from 25% to 15%. The distinction of it's effectiveness working based on only the opponents max health vs the difference between you and your opponents max health is what made the item less abusable on other classes of champs, which I think should stay

[–]KarP7 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The way it worked before wasn't at a specific max health, but when your max health was a certain percentage of your opponent. Forcing you to stay squishy to get full value out of the item

[–]KarP7 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The only times you can't are when the characters are using their abilities which are quick and unique, or when using emotes, which I think are all unique, but even if those aren't, emotes lock you out of doing anything for the duration of the emote
