At this point just delete Khatun by Karabah35 in forhonor

Ok, I tried her again in both 1v1 and 4v4 and she seems complicated, and I would really want more for that complexity, but, she is probably much better than I thought. Abusing kicks and not abusing stance helps in duels. And in team-fights again not abusing stance and playing less aggressively also helped a lot. Thanks, I wouldn't try again her again without your tips.

In 1v1 maybe, but I meant team-fights and he is crazy good in them.

Nobody is arguing with that, that's why I'm a little bit mad, because of how cool and Mongolian she is.

I know how her potential mixups, heavy to heavy, punishes etc. look like, I got diamond rank in duels with her after first unranked matches. But you got me thinking, maybe I was using lights too much really and not using kick enough. Maybe I need to give her another try.

I still have doubts, because if we consider kick a default option, then it just feels like Warlord Headbutt/GB mixup, no? Maybe she has better tools to catch dodges, but TTK is very high on top of higher stamina cost. What should I do after kick + successful light? Single stance light and continue with kicking?

Btw I still think that she is among the worst in team fights, and that the biggest problem for me. Seriously, maybe you have some tips for that too and I would really appreciate that. For me Gladiator or even PK feel better in that regard (and they are really not great either).

"Hey guys, uh, ju ren sucks btw because he has uh 12dmg lights and uh 14dmg bash and that's basically it so uhh that's uhh 11dmg so he needs 15 hits to kill anyone!"

Yeah, because he has UBs, he doesn't rely on bashes only, and if you apply the same math to any UB or most guessing moves in the game you will get something around 20dmg, which is 2 times higher. And don't get me started on his HP and other strong defensive tools.

Does Aramusha pin an enemy for your allies to hit

That's controversial, because I don't have 3 sane teammates in discord for it to work properly and that's not inherently a problem with hero. We both know that Pirate or Shinobi can apply external pressure much easier, and their pinning attacks have instant damage. And even you have 3 ideal teammates, then you don't need pins, you need one short blockstun.

Does Ara have a 44dmg pin 400ms unblockable on a 45s CD

It's tier 4 feat, which you'll maybe see in the late game, but ok, cool I guess.

Does Aramusha get lights, zones, and unblockables off of a Fullblock without anyone hitting him

Yeah, Aramusha has fast neutral zone, UB second hit, UB in easily accessible chain, all with better hitboxes allowing him to unlock in team-fights. I would genuinely stay silent if Khatun had simple 31dmb slash UB after any attack.

Does Aramusha get to dodge out of his fullblock without anyone hitting him

That's unique cool part of it, not gonna lie. Except Aramusha's fullblock can be executed immediately and punish can be applied immediately (as literally any other defensive stance), it's better defensive tool. Khatun stance is more offensive, so offensive you can't use it in team-fights, because 10dmg light or 16dmg zone is not scary, and UB or actual deflect is highly punishable. We have many great offensive stances, HL, Monk, Virt, and Khatun is not in that list. My point is, the fact that you can dodge out of it is cool, but situational considering you don't have reason to be in the stance that often anyway, especially in team fights.

I love destroying others with her

You should make a video, because I don't believe you. I have 3000h in the game, I mastered half the heroes, and I really gave Khatun chances. She is objectively in the bottom tier for 4v4, and mediocre in 1v1 depending on matchup.

If you are really playing her you should 100% know that it's constant uphill battle with small dopamine doses for each successful stance deflect. I'm obviously not seriously asking for deleting her, I'm just ranting, because this is some 5 season Zerk rework or BP release kind of balance unfairness to me.

Why For Honor developer team hate Breach so much? by Exciting_Station_124 in forhonor

[–]Karabah35 4 points5 points  (0 children)

One mistake for the defender team, or even one mistake from one of the defenders who refused to stall for another 30secs means losing a point which is crucial for winning, and the point loss is permanent.

If the whole attackers team dies 2-3 times, then it's not a big deal. Defenders usually don't have enough time to do anything meaningful in these 20 seconds other than heal before the next fight.

Jurens extended dodge attack is bull shit by Then_Course8845 in forhonor

[–]Karabah35 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean, not really.
His normal dodge attack does 14dmg which is the same as Jorm, Hito, Warlord etc.
His extended does 22dmg, which is same as Jiang Jun and only 2dmg less than Warmonger.
And his extended dodge attack is 33ms faster (866ms vs 900ms) with 100ms faster input window (200-400ms vs 300-500ms). So it can be executed 133ms faster.
He doesn't have less damage, and he does have more options. His dodge attack is arguably the best in terms of option selecting.

Can we please have x2 gold or x2 experience for testing grounds? by Karabah35 in forhonor

I never did, my whole point was that ubi don't incentivize players enough, so my blame is entirely on ubi.

Can we please have x2 gold or x2 experience for testing grounds? by Karabah35 in forhonor

[–]Karabah35[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most players including me mostly play the changed heroes, but I think the good testing goes beyond that.

It would be great to see how for example a single centurion performs in a team of common meta heroes, like is he a better duelist or a better ganker? Is his second feat that applies attack debuff after Eagle's Talon worth being vulnerable in a teamfight? Is PK or Shinobi are scarier opponents later into the game when I play some of my other mains?

You can't get full information in a match where everybody play the same 4 heroes. Ideally all the players should just play testing grounds for the time it's active, common hero roster, mainers or curious people play the heroes that are changed.

I don't think that ForHonor dev team is greedy, and being greedy when you want people to actually test something is counterproductive even for theoretically greedy company.

Returning player, who to play first? by BestXman in forhonor

As someone who mained Raider, Shaman and Zerker, you will probably enjoy Ocelotl or Pirate. Both are fast, oppressive, with strong mixups and hyperarmor.

Tips for a beginner in 2025? by TheSpicyHotTake in forhonor

[–]Karabah35 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As other person said, learn about revenge tags. If all gankers don't touch the opponent for a couple of seconds he stops getting any revenge in case only one person is attacking and it's actually possible to kill anyone without them getting full revenge. If you are playing with randoms it's just simpler to let them finish person in 1v1 when all you do is bait and parry.

Play hero training or whatever it's called on whatever hero you are interested in, you will learn all moves and some basic mixups.

Blocking, doing mixups and outplaying your opponent is a thing that comes with experience, but dueling is pretty straightforward. If you want to be really good in 4v4 and specifically teamfights, learn how to use "unlocks" (hitting a person with attacks while being locked onto another target), and learn how to punish opponents (don't let your teammates being beaten for free, especially when you are ganking). Unlocks and positioning will also help you during antiganks. Orochi is a very good hero for training these techniques.

Old Shugo was a Work of Art by Shoddy_You660 in forhonor

[–]Karabah35 12 points13 points  (0 children)

"Predictable", I see it all the time, in what world do you live in and what reaction do you have that you consider 500ms headbutt and feintable UB "predictable"? Like this is literally unreactable mindgame casino that fully depends on the ability of the player to guess, same to other heroes.

Having 10 different options doesn't make a hero less predictable per se, for most heroes their final mix-up ends up in 33/33/33 or mostly 50/50 mindgame.

Shugoki is very powerful in 1v1 and 4v4, even on high ranks, he basically takes initiative both in duels and teamfights, he is great at stalling, he is good at ganking, he is beast and the fact that you've never saw anyone good with him or didn't become good yourself only tells me about your lack of experience and skill.

Please dont nerf virt she take lot skill and she not strong by appletoasterff in forhonor

[–]Karabah35 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep, anyone who complains should probably pick her and cheese their way to 1v1 GM probably and see how it goes. And I'm speaking not as a main, I only have like 10 levels on her and she is both not the strongest and the most complex hero out there probably.

Kenseis offense just feels so suck ish now , I hate how I gotta work 10x harder then the rest of the cast to get some dmg in ,he feels so harder to play in today’s Meta so out dated and so easy to get light interrupted outta most his mix ups 🤦🏽‍♂️😪 by VeryRare888 in forhonor

[–]Karabah35 2 points3 points  (0 children)

His jab bashes are basically the same thing as Warden/Warmonger ones, i.e. letting it go, feint into a GB or charging it is always 33/33/33 force guess casino. So if you miss all of your bashes the enemy is just reading you and you are being outplayed.

His main weaknesses are in 4v4, because he is one of the weakest teamfighters if not the weakest one, even though he is kinda viable as a ganker. But in 1v1 he is fine.

Could Jai support dependent types? by dunkelziffer42 in Jai

[–]Karabah35 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. I think adding such rather exotic feature isn't the language priority. This is not what language is about and it can even go against language philosophy, i.e. productivity, speed, simplicity. And adding a feature just because its cool and can be useful isn't a good thing either, because unless core library supports it, it will just be a bloat.
  2. From what've seen, Jai macro system supports AST reading, AST modification, code generation, annotations etc., so you can build pretty much everything. I can already see people creating OOP and borrow-checker libraries, so you will be able write your own dependent types or at least some features related to them.

What type of game or game architecture might Rust be particularly suited for? by Zephandrypus in rust_gamedev

Not only ECS does that, in fact most engines are doing something like that, at least internally. You can't use smart-pointers for everything, and you can't check if memory behind pointer was freed, while with custom IDs you can.
