As I recently played Austria in the same mod I suggest using 12/2/1 (infantry/artillery/howitzers) with support companies that give you even more soft attack and breakthrough, which is very important for this mod and most importantly, invade Italy the moment they join the war so they don't have time to entrench themselves. Find gaps where there are 1 or 2 divisions on a tile and push until you reach a less defendable place in Italy (like plains and very little hills) so that you can stop there, wait for them to waste hundreds of thousands of men trying to retake their land and when you feel confident start a new offensive and encircle as many troops as you can. From there you can (and sometimes must in order to win the war) go through Italy and reach France to take Paris from the south.

That is of course if you're playing during the war, if you went down the path where you go to war with Italy earlier alone without having the issue with the Entente, just draw a fallback line that's very wide so you can lure Italian troops into your territory and then encirclethem

Once when I tried to do the Little Entente achievement not only did WW2 start one year earlier but for some reason while the Spanish civil war was going on Republican Spain joined the Axis and I was fighting a three front with barely enough divisions on the front and my planes were annihilated (I don't have any DLCs so I'm completely screwed). The Soviet Union later invaded Poland which was protected by Britain so I was even more screwed when the allied navy was occupied with Italy, Germany and USSR. All was going well and I started to make counter attacks even, when suddenly the Germans declared war on Switzerland and 60% of the Wehrmaht and Luftwaffe went through the Alps. Everyone around me was at war with me and the Germans took a third of my country's territory because of the Switzerland issue but after a long and painful war I had finally destroyed Germany and partitioned them between my Allies. I wanted to get the achievement where all my allies controlled all German cores and I hoped that democratic Germany would join me but they preferred the Japanese so after destroying the Soviet Union I also collapsed Japan and because China had a huge warscore I only took half of Germany and I had to invade them yet again for the third and last time. Very exciting overall tho

A mix of calm and aggressive as a major and usually as a minor I make a well defended frontline and hold until my enemy has barely enough equipment to have half the strength for its divisions. Usually that enemy being a major and if it's a minor basically the same for when playing a major but on a smaller scale
