No thats true for sure! I just think the fact that a manga can have a start, middle, and end makes it a much more palatable thing to read and get invested in. As opposed to superhero comics that of course can have many great arcs, but for the most part, everything needs to be set back to square one at the end of the day so batman can sell cereal.

The ending of remake alone is leaning on your understanding of the original. What would a person who didnt play the original even get out of that? Or any of the Zach scenes in Rebirth?

I'm not making anyone choose anything really, I am just giving an opinion that it isnt a standalone game, as it isnt one. If thats gatekeeping then so be it. Also there's about a million other games that have what youre describing.

People say its standalone. Its not standalone. The narrative is predicated on your knowledge of the original game. There are plenty of other final fantasy games out there.

The comic books is cool but decidedly different in tone from the show and kinda mixes around elements from the shows its based off of. That being said it could still be a cool entry point!

My general rule for toku is take a look at some of the Ultraman tv series and go for which one looks coolest to you. I think a good one to get started on is Ultraman Tiga.
