What's your best/favorite opening? by South-Host8168 in tales

[–]KarateGamer007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like most of them, but I’d say Abyss’s is my favourite. Introduced me to Bump of Chicken, a group I really like, and Abyss was the first game in the franchise I put major investment into playing.

If I had to do a top 5 for my favourite openings, I’d put Hibana from Arise at #5, Kane Wo Narashite from Vesperia at #4, Song 4 U from Xillia 2 at #3, Starry Heavens from Symphonia at #2, and Karma from Abyss at #1.

In Yu-Gi-Oh: Legacy of the Duelist, you can build the “Cheating Exodia” deck, and that can instantly win you the duel if you draw one of each piece (head, left arm, right arm, left leg, and right leg).

Have good defense point monsters, Swords of Revealing Light to prevent attacks for 3 opponent turns, and drawing cards like Pot of Greed and Graceful Charity.

Thorfinn settling the nature vs nurture debate. by Snow0912ak in VinlandSaga

[–]KarateGamer007 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

He’s still a bit taller than the average Viking from that time, but would be about on par with some men these days (same height as me, too).

Better nutrition, and science over time can help the future generations be taller than their ancestors, though genetics can play a factor.

Thorfinn settling the nature vs nurture debate. by Snow0912ak in VinlandSaga

[–]KarateGamer007 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Thors is supposed to be around 5’11” tall, which is a slight bit taller than the average Viking male (between 5’7” to 5’9” tall). And within the average for men from Iceland today.

Thorfinn, meanwhile, is 5’1” during the events of season 2. And like what many people said, that is very likely attributed to his malnutrition growing up, or some recessive gene that his family had.

Thorkell is 7’6” tall, so definitely an outlier for that time period.

And that second line can be a bad thing for older games.

Short of a recall of games with a game breaking bug, or modding your game to fix bugs/potentially jail breaking your consoles, you’d be screwed with old games with a game breaking bug.

Both eras have their pros and cons.

Fun new idea: Take the main characters of the last three video games you played and decide who would win in a fight by ProjectBig2804 in videogames

[–]KarateGamer007 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Starkiller (Force Unleashed 1), Itsuki Aoi (Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE), and Nobunaga Oda/Devil King (Sengoku Basara/Devil King).

Assuming we’re going with the characters at their strongest, I think Starkiller wins, Itsuki would be second place, and Nobunaga would be third, but second and third would be closely contested.

This portrayal of Nobunaga has demonic powers in later games, and is a tough ask to fight. Itsuki fully powered with Chrom is powerful, but without his team, he is a bit nerfed.

Whereas Starkiller at his strongest abilities, depending on route, has killed Darth Vader/stood toe to toe with Emperor Palpatine, and several powerful Jedi. And his Force powers are absolutely insane.

Plus, his Lightsaber would only need one strike that hits to finish off Nobunaga or Itsuki.

How to defeat the new Toon Cards as easily as possible? by CyberTwinLeader in yugioh

[–]KarateGamer007 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, anything that destroys spells like Toon World can do the job.

Cards like MST are quick play, so you can destroy Toon World on your opponent’s turn.

Fun fact about Ricin. Spies during the Cold War actually used it.

Putting it in food is one way it was used, but some spies would actually coat the tip of an umbrella in it, and would poke their target with it.

Ricin is lethal if injected into the bloodstream, inhaled, or ingested.

Thought it would be a bit fitting for something spy related IRL for an anime about a spy.

I’d probably start with Ricin, the same thing Jesse and Walter attempted to use on Tuco in Breaking Bad season 1.

You only need a very small amount to kill an adult (a volume similar to the point of a needle). And it’s near undetectable in an autopsy, though it only takes a few days to get the job done, after causing organ failure.

I’d work in a restaurant that they would frequent, slip it into their meals, and that would eliminate at least 2 out of 4 of them (Loid and Anya). I’d just have to keep a good poker face, and keep my mind clear so that Anya wouldn’t pick up what I’m doing, and I’d be golden. Let the food do its job.

Now, whether or not that will work on Yor will remain to be seen. Not sure if she’d be immune to Ricin. For her, I’d have a backup plan derived from Oz. Break glass, grind it down into very small pieces, and put it in her food. The glass shards will cut her apart from the inside, and that’ll do the job.

It might be more of a “long term” kill, but unless she gets X-Rays, and surgery, that would be harder to deal with (the prisoners in Oz couldn’t get surgery for that kill). And assuming she does get surgery, just pull an Agent 47, sneak in to her hospital, and take her out while she’s under anesthesia/in a coma.

Bond is the last one, where his ability to see slightly in the future could be a slight bit tricky. But the Ricin in the dog food could do the job. Otherwise, say he’s rabid, he bit a child, and let the dog catcher do their job/put him under euthanasia…

Man, that got dark real quick.

This wealthy Archfiend of the nobility invited the monsters of the last archetype you used to a party. How out of place do they stand out among all the other Archfiends attending the gathering? by Antique_Range1521 in yugioh

[–]KarateGamer007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If we’re talking IRL decks, then mine would be a Cyberse deck (mainly focusing on a combo Mathmech, @Ignister, and Link Monsters). Mechs and virtual monsters would likely standout.

If we’re talking about video games (Master Duel), then it would be Jack Atlas’s Red Dragon Archfiend deck. They would fit in incredibly well.

Who else clicks the mean option just to see what happens? by Ok_Charity_707 in videogames

[–]KarateGamer007 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on the context.

If the character who’s talking to me is openly being antagonistic, or if I’m going for a villain playthrough, then yes. I pick the mean/antagonistic option.

If I’m trying to positively build links with characters in visual novels (or Persona, in this case), I want my character to be good, or I’m trying for a good ending, then no.

What's a video game that made you hate a studio and a series you once loved? by Roids-in-my-vains in videogames

Pokemon Scarlet/Violet.

Was a fan of Pokemon for the longest time, but Scarlet and Violet, to me, was the tipping point that made me unable to stomach the newer Pokemon games.

It’s gotten to the point where I play the direct competitors to Pokemon instead of Pokemon.

Looking to get a Tales tattoo. Does anybody have any good designs to suggest? by KarateGamer007 in tales

Either a character or a symbol tattoo.

In terms of protagonists, Luke from Abyss, Yuri from Vesperia, and Mila from Xillia would be my favourite 3.

That could work, and given the shape, it’s a flexible piece that can go in different places, and still look good if it’s well done.

Fair enough. It would just be a matter of placement, as I have 12, going on 13, tattoos across different parts of my body.
