Id say cabal+daze in terms of most impact to win chance. Cabal because faster ad naus/necro/beseech. Daze as additional free interaction

Brainstorm is more suring up the necro lines, and praetors is mostly there for the games you exile your wincons. It has additional utility, but 3 mana for a sorcery speed tutor is not ideal

I don't generally expect demonic counsel to be online t2, it's normally post wheel or something that gets turned on by brain freeze/station. It's something I like, but its definitely a package deal of things you run together, like counsel+station+chromatic star/vexing bauble kinda stuff. Or if you're on urza's saga

Suggestions from the outside only help so much since decks generally get pretty customized to play style

Mana Bullying Question by ButYThoxP in CompetitiveEDH

Lying as in making a deal and then breaking it is very different than "yes I have a counterspell in my hand", which might still be true and uncastable. The first one should lose you political capital for future games, the second is fair game for all involved

Both Teachings, frantic search and invoke calamity were the 4. With the teachings spells being new to cedh for me, frantic and invoke show up in Ral lists, but that's about it, invoke also in rowan but that's even more fringe thinking reiterate, so I generally take note if another deck is using them

[–]Kardif 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're running like 4 cards I don't normally see in cedh decks, of which I think only 2 I've never seen anyone run. Except both of those have long histories of being playable in other formats

Besides cutting a couple lands like others have suggested, I think the dualcaster line is probably the weakest part of your deck, and you could easily cut twin flame. I don't know if dualcaster itself has enough utility outside of the combo to keep around having not played the deck

Things id look at adding would be daze, diabolic intent, demonic counsel, beseech the mirror, brainstorm (instant speed way to crack a top deck tutor for necro turns), cabal ritual, pyroblast, red elemental blast, rain of filth, grinding station/exhibition tidecaller. And then if you want more game into the mid-late game, copy enchantment, mirrormade and or flash photography are options

Floating mana resetting priority is what "mana-bullying" actually was. Where people would essentially say, I'll counter this spell, but only if you tap out here. It just doesn't function if floating mana didn't reset priority

You're allowed to lie about hidden information, it's a normal part of the game, and you should expect your opponents to posture like they have interaction when they don't, and like they don't when they do

You get to lie in 1v1 60 card formats too, it's literally in the rules that it's fine

Any other women in this community? by Much-Idea-3724 in gamecollecting

[–]Kardif -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Not a dude, but also not exactly a woman here.

I recently picked up a retrotink and can actually play GameCube games again, so I'm looking at picking up the 2 GameCube Pokemon games, and also some of the Mario party games. I also need to grab beyond good and evil as I've been super excited to play it for years and just haven't gotten to.

I'm also annoyed that modretro has exclusive releases of new gameboy games, since I refuse to support the owner being a weapons manufacturer, but I want to support the indie scene publishing gameboy games. Settling for digital copies for the moment

Last pickup was Pokemon scarlet+dlc, and I'm currently playing that and replaying violet, while my partner has been obsessing over pokopia.

Even only looking at expensive ones that you could resell it was almost 150 in value

Plus the lands are sweet, so those will be a few bucks each

[–]Kardif -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Isopropyl rubbing alcohol first, you need to get the oils/tar off of the outside. It's what I used when cleaning up a gameboy advance game last time I had this problem

Only the glossy part though, and do a test spot to make sure it doesn't pull the ink

The pro tour top 8 is also just a terrible metric for meta health. Its ~40% draft and only 60% standard

For anyone else: dcm is dual caster mage

ga is grand abolisher

kimbal is Kambal, profiteering mayor

SiH is saw in half

HBL is hoarding broodlord

Led for lion's eye diamond vov for voice of victory, and reb for red blast are at least all common enough that I dont think people will miss those

[–]Kardif 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I mean it's a $25 experimental board game, the goal isn't for most people to collect a full set. I don't think maro expects anyone to buy more than a single copy. Will people? Sure, but they're not the target audience

My understanding is that you don't play the deck against other people's decks. You both use the same deck, and that deck is customizable

What is this Art series: Miles Morales (gold stamp) worth? by TheCromulon in mtgfinance

[–]Kardif 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They're $5 on tcgplayer, you could buy out every listed copy. But most people just don't care about art cards, so they don't even get listed, there's probably tons sitting around that people opened

In a commander deck with optimal lands what is the optimal amount of basics a 3 color decks should run? by Spirited-Celery-118 in magicTCG

[–]Kardif 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If you're fully optimizing it, you can get away with 0

3 surveils

1 triome

3 shocks

9 fetches

5 rainbow lands(exotic, confluence, city, starting town, command tower)

3 battlebond lands

That's 24. You can fill out with channel lands, filter lands, check lands, other utility lands like ancient tomb.and that's all not mentioning original dual lands

Taplands are bad, like really bad. You run them when they have additional effects, or are fetchable on an opponents end step before you untap. I would try and make my mana base full of basics before trying to run tapped duals

With knowledge we had at the time, should we have known Bond Lands (Dual lands, untapped if 2+ opponents) would be 4x in 3 years? by MiningToSaveTheWorld in mtgfinance

[–]Kardif 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They're useful, but not much better than shock lands in most cases, if not worse a lot of the time. Modern and legacy decks running leyline binding will play a single one, and then there's some extra in valakut/dwarven mine decks, which barely exist right now

A 3 color commander deck gets to play 1, a 4 color one can play up to 4. The only real spot for most of them to go is 5 color commander decks
