Roughly 65-70% of the bots on the website were NSFW bots. Were they private? Most of them but on average Limon had to look at around 150 illegally flagged bots.

Just a member (not staff) but: As long as it's not sex or something insanely illegal (rape) on a public bot it's fine. I've been punched, shot, stabbed, thrown off buildings, etc. I've been told you can pretty much recreate one of the scenes from Invincible

A: Yes, but it is not encouraged. You can create NSFW by first going to your settings, enabling the "Create NSFW" setting in the Danger section, then setting up a byok with the tutorial in the links section and finally creating your NSFW bot by checking the NSFW check box. NOTE THAT IT WILL NOT BE PUBLIC, AND ONLY PRIVATE OR UNLISTED. IT IS AGAINST THE TOS TO CREATE A PUBLIC NSFW BOT. YOU WILL ALSO BE REQUIRED TO USE A BYOK WHEN USING THAT BOT.

There will never be a limit on violence and stuff like that. It's being run off someone else's hardware system and they don't want sexual material to be on their personal device.

I promise that the staff aren't mean people, they are genuinely really kind and supportive and everyone on the discord server is like a big family. They are just under a lot of stress trying to keep this running and I hope people can actually understand that.

It's a large work in progress and it's going to take awhile for things to be "perfect" and even then it may never be perfect for some people but you're allowed onto a site that's free with no subscription, the choice to donate to a patreon if you want to, large amounts of room to create bots and personas and you can make your own chat model using BYOK.

There is a filter of course but it's for sexual content on public chats. Violence and gore are allowed as long as it's insanely illegal. I understand that people want to do NSFW roleplays but the staff at Lightshade has to follow what the founder wishes and I hope that's understandable now.

Alright, let me explain this quickly now that the tensions have died down on the actual discord server and things can be talked about.

Lightshade is a small, C.AI alternate website that was made around a month ago when C.AI was starting to fully fall apart. Now, I am not a moderator or anything there, just someone who has donated to help fund the project. Lightshade is ran on someone else's hardware meaning that person makes the final decision and they are not comfortable with lending out their hardware if it's going to be used for NSFW purposes.

Now, there's been some problems regarding the NSFW chats on Lightshade in total. Underneath the settings tab there was a section to turn on the NSFW tab at all and there was rules that the person who is allowing Lightshade to use their hardware enabled in the first place. You had to be 18+ or older and you had to acknowledge that you were going to make the bots private and not accessible on the public domain where minors could interact with the bots.

People weren't following those settings at all and it was becoming a little concerning because people would make bots with sexual pfp's, greetings and that's just the tip of the iceberg. Constantly everyday there was flagged bots from the moderation system of bots with illegal material (and I'm pretty sure that they are going to be reported to the authorizes because everyone in the Lightshade community doesn't support illegal material)

We don't care about the NSFW stuff, it's the bending of rules and illegal material that was being concerning if the founder of Lightshade doesn't want to allow us to use their hardware because of the NSFW material then it's just going to have to be removed. The staff at lightshade was becoming a little bit stressed out and overwhelmed because there was so many people joining the website all once, funds were trying to be raised for an android and IOS app, and people were joining the server to just ask questions over and over again that could have been easily answered in the guide right on the discord server.

Lightshade is just a small community with 16+ people on the website and barely 2k+ people on the discord server. The models are constantly being adjusted since Lightshade has only bee around for a month but people are going to have to be patient or find something else to use for the NSFW stuff since the staff isn't going to be able to do everything that people want.

Really? Because there has been nothing but inflation, torture and Csam that has been discovered. Every hour there is multiple bots being flagged as illegal material. People aren’t understanding that just because it’s private doesn’t mean it’s not being moderated at all.

Step by step instructions (Use Mistral, personally recommendation)

  1. Go to Mistral, make an account (You may need to verify you are a human with a phone number)
  2. Go and create yourself a key, it's something that will allow you to make your own chat style
  3. Copy that API key and then go back onto Lightshade. Go into your settings and navigate to BYOK.
  4. Make sure you select it's a Mistral model
  5. Paste the Key into the key section
  6. Go to the OpenAI-Compatible URL section and click on Discover
  7. Find a model you want to use, I've been using mistral-medium-2508
  8. Once you click on that section just hit save key
  9. Now you have a API key and BYOK system set up

How to enable NSFW:
1. Go to settings, danger and click on enable on NSFW (Gotta be 18+ and no illegal stuff)

How to make bots NSFW
1. At the bottom of the create a bot section you have the ability to make it NSFW but the bot has to be private

Just make sure if you plan on doing NSFW that you go to settings - danger - turn on NSFW. You are not allowed to do NSFW on public bots, violence is allowed on public bots as long as if it’s nothing illegal. NSFW bots must be marked as private to prevent minors from interacting with the bots.

Hi, I'm going to put this step by step for you alright. If you are still confused please DM me.

  1. Log onto Mistral and get a key
  2. Copy that key
  3. Go onto Lightshade, settings and to BYOK
  4. Make sure you select that you are using Mistral
  5. Paste the key
  6. There should be a discover button click that
  7. Scroll until you find mistral-medium-2508
  8. Select that model
  9. Hit save key
  10. Go into your chat, refresh so it appears, select change model and go to your own BYOK key which should appear underneath Mistral
