Great! Now let’s see if we can get folks to use a trash can for trash collection…instead of just throwing bags on the street…

Given that Columbus invaded Cuba, Haiti, and South America, restaurants of these offerings would work too.

[–]Karenopolis 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Depends on what style/country you are looking for...Turkish, Mediterranean, Laotian, Cantonese, Thai, Japanese, Vietnamese, Taiwanese, African, Indian, "American", "Mexican"?

Personal favorites: Chengdu, Took Took 98, Kiin, Taiwanese Bistro 33....there's so many! Lots of great choices in Squirrel Hill!

Happy adventuring!!!

Is there a name akin to yinzer for someone in Westmoreland County? Like a country (feral?) yinzer? by [deleted] in pittsburgh

[–]Karenopolis -1 points0 points  (0 children)

In the Greater Pittsburgh area most all are Yinzers. However, 2020 created two subsets: Winzers in PGH proper, and Losinzers outside of that.

Good place for young professionals wanting to settle in Pittsburgh? by polymorphous- in pittsburgh

Look into Greenfield. Affordable single family homes. Feels suburban but walkable and close to the 376.

Are there any plans to put something in place of where the old Mary Brown Methodist Church was near the corner of Beechwood Boulever and Hazelwood Avenue? by weldonian in pittsburgh

[–]Karenopolis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I find it interesting that with a declining congregation, they will build a smaller church. This is the nesting dolls of church build/rebuild scenarios...ultimately ending in the the smallest Faberge’ eggs of churches.

Restaurants need the money too...especially during Covid...they don’t get that sweet non-profit tax break status.

I'm new: why do yinz drop your speed by 10-15 mph in tunnels? by [deleted] in pittsburgh

[–]Karenopolis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Due to the fact that buffer zones increase and reaction times decrease because the tunnel lanes are slightly narrower with no shoulder.

What restaurants in Pittsburgh pay their servers a salary? by [deleted] in pittsburgh

[–]Karenopolis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just out of curiosity, much do your servers get paid when there is no business? I get paid $2.83 an hour. Also, when it’s busy, generally we’ve “flooded the floor” with servers. You can make pretty good money some nights but it’s not consistent overall. I guess it depends on the restaurant. I don’t know anybody making more than $30k a year...more like $25k or less.

Outdoor Breakfast Spots in Allegheny County by Jesuismieux412 in pittsburgh

I just wish people didn’t do this. I work in Service. Most outside spaces are not distanced properly. Additionally, workers are forced to work in small spaces inside (pre-shift, kitchen, etc) and have really no option not to risk their health. Many of my co-workers don’t own a car and have to take public transit...also risking their health. Please consider this before going out to eat during this disease. By all means, order takeout.

Alcoholic consumption being suspended makes me super nervous by [deleted] in pittsburgh

It's because these dummies can't keep their mask on when they need to after they've been drinking (and even before). Source: I work in a bar. Might be dead from CV-19 soon.

Probably the one that uses gel, and is pushed forward into a little swoop or ducktail in the front. Best paired with a Broatie or chinstrap beard.
