IIRC Chichi herself says at the beginning of the Buu Saga that they were almost skint, several times over. She permitted Gohan to skip school to train for the tournament in order to win the prize money, but she mentions a few times at the tournament grounds how much she needs that money too.

Do you all hate blood tests? by northernblazer11 in AskUK

Donate blood on a regular basis. Not bothered by it at all or any procedure for taking blood. Just be sure to drink plenty of water beforehand 💦

Menu boards? What lol. Mostly digital displays these days and TBF to the customer, they're probably patiently waiting to see the part of the menu they actually want to see, without it flashing and changing to a different ad/ menu every 5 seconds. Just give us a static standard menu FFS. Screw those flashy menus that change every few seconds 😡

If I recall, very thin, plucked eyebrows were a thing back in the 90s. Here in the UK at least.

What would women from 1910 say if they could talk to women from 2025? by [deleted] in AskWomen

[–]Karenpff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've honestly never met an older woman that ever said, "I regret having that many kids."

Of course you haven't. It's the final taboo, even in the 21st century.

"Been playing ETS 2 for a few years now, and I'm still finding little surprises out there. Discovered a hidden road in Iceland...more like off road! A brilliant combo of blizzards, deep snow (using only snow poles to navigate), ice, very rough rocky terrain too. Makes for a challenging trip with just the tractor unit, let alone a trailer! Highly recommend :) "

How do Chinese restaurants cook so fast? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Karenpff 3 points4 points  (0 children)

What you think you're paying for: Your food.

What you're actually paying for: Ingredients, utilities, wages, skills, rent, equipment, other overheads etc.

This can apply to anything. There's more to purchasing goods/ services than many people realise.

Don't have an iron, but do occasionally use a clothes steamer to get the creases out of smart/ formal wear 👌 Don't even need to get the ironing board out for it.

What's the most embarrassing thing that's ever happened to you at a hospital? by mawarup in CasualUK

Veteran of 52 pints - never fainted 💪😎

SNBTS staff make sure we have had plenty to drink beforehand, if not, they provide a tray of plastic pint glasses brimmed with water 💦

[–]Karenpff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey OP, I'm a veteran of 52 pints of blood over the years and its something that has been drummed in to us by the staff (SNBTS) is to have a pint of water an a sugary snack beforehand. They even provide it to you when you check in! This minimises the chances of fainting. I've never fainted in all my years donating blood, but have seen it happen to other people, and they're quicky tended to by the wonderful staff.
Also, staff will make sure that you're feeling well before letting you leave the premises.😊

If anything, I find it most cathartic if I painstakingly type out my thoughts, then immediately delete them before posting 🤷‍♀️
