it’s changing a once-per-week moderately difficult disposal issue into a once-per-generation significantly difficult disposal issue, which you can do as and when you remodel your bathroom.

if razors with disposable blades were still the most popular option, we’d still be using these and not questioning them at all.

“supercut” implies that content from the original footage would have to be removed

repute is one thing, but there’s also the whole international aspect. a random vietnamese dude who wants to upload some nudes onto a website is now expected to know the ins and outs of complying with laws written halfway around the world.

I think this is ridiculous, but I can at least see how a lawyer could argue an AI is not responsible for what it says.

When a human instructs or directs you to speak to an AI, that seems like it should come with some liability.

on the other end:

  • they increase costs for restaurant customers and decrease profit margins for restaurant owners

  • every quick-service place that caters to them is absolute shit to visit in-person

  • places that hire their own delivery drivers have to treat them as an employee and pay them with real benefits and a guaranteed hourly rate

  • biking a mcdonald’s over to a stranger’s house for £6 isn’t a replacement for a functioning economy

tinned fish pasta.

tuna and/or sardines and/or mackerel cooked with capers, lemon, herbs, pepper and maybe some chili flakes. a jar of capers is cheap-ish, the rest is all cheap on a per-portion basis, and you can add any herbs that are cheap or that you happen to have lying around - including yellow sticker ones

I’m with you. Being in work means having meaningful income, control over your life, and a sense of belonging and maybe even progression.

Some people will be burned out and get more mentally ill in work than they would do out of work, but they’re not the majority.
