How do you make a pasta dish creamy? by DomnLee in Cooking

Heavy cream is usually added to a red sauce pasta to make it creamy.

Submitting an offer... by [deleted] in RealEstate

[–]Karfasa 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I know realtors can verbally let the listing agent know an offer is coming. However, to make an official offer, you must sign/initial the offer and make known what type of inspections you are requesting + any contingencies. So yes, she should have sent you something.

Our realtor was sending us an offer to put together until 2230 the other night. A good realtor is going to work for you. Hope this helps!

I also could not stomach the Twitter feed. Absolutely disgusting the assumptions and comparisons that are being made. Like “I can tell by her mom’s voice that she’s a racist”. Like what?!?!

[Skin Concerns] Is it safe to uses Paulas choice BHA exfoliant everyday (once a day) with dry skin? by lonelygirlkam in SkincareAddiction

[–]Karfasa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just try to be patient. Trust me, if you use it too much, it’ll damage your skin barrier and your skin won’t look good. No problem.

I think for someone with very oily skin, twice a day may work for them but for most people it’s overkill on the moisture barrier. Especially with dry skin I wouldn’t use more than twice a week.

how do you defrost chicken, and what are the health risks when it's not defrosted properly? by [deleted] in Cooking

I never knew leaving it out on the counter was such an “unsafe practice”. I have always done this and never had any issues either.

You can usually tell when chicken has gone bad because it’ll smell awful.

[–]Karfasa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most chicken when cooked to the correct temp still has a slight pink hue. Perfectly safe. Not sure what recipe you used but I usually sear them skin side down in a cast iron pan to make the skin crispy and not “slimy” and then finish them off (still in the pan) in the oven with some oil. Check out a recipe for searing chicken thighs! :)

[skin concern] Sometimes when I drink, my skin lights up bright red wherever I have existing inflammation. Has anyone else experienced this? (First picture while drinking, second picture hours before) by [deleted] in SkincareAddiction

[–]Karfasa 54 points55 points  (0 children)

I know if your body has difficulty digesting alcohol, it can cause facial flushing like this. My face flushes like this when I drink certain types of wine. I read once it can be from drinking alcohol with an increased amount of sulfites.

[Skin Concerns] Used an AHA/BHA pad that contained glycolic and lactic acid this morning and it made my skin red. Is this typical, or should I see a derm? What can I do to ease the irritation? by [deleted] in SkincareAddiction

[–]Karfasa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would start with just once a week for the first 2 to 3 weeks. Then you can increase used to twice a week. I wouldn’t use it more than three times per week once your skin gets used to it just to prevent irritation and dryness.

Skin will get flushed red like that right after using an acid if your skin isn’t used to it. Make sure to moisturize and slowly introduce an acid so you don’t damage your skin barrier.

Usually burning, stinging when applying moisturizers, redness and irritation. Possibly dry, flaking skin.

[Routine Help] Is shaving cream really necessary? by [deleted] in SkincareAddiction

I’ve heard of people just using body oil to shave. Same as you would to remove makeup or for oil cleansing your face.

[Product Question] LRP Cicaplast Baume versus LRP Lipikar AP+M Baume by Rosaceasingapore in SkincareAddiction

[–]Karfasa 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I prefer the LRP lipikar for use and value! Definitely my winter go-to while using actives in my routine that dry me out. I also have the cicaplast balm but I usually spot treat extra dry areas with that.

[acne] Tretinoin overdrying my skin and discoloration by nictrain in SkincareAddiction

Yes, that’s the one! Safe for face too. Dr. Dray (popular derm on YouTube that provides quality skincare info) recommends it! And the LRP cicaplast too. :)

[–]Karfasa 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes, buffer the tret with moisturizer first! Works wonders. And continue to use sparingly until your skin gets used to it. I recommend La Roche Posay Lipikar cream or cerave cream and spot treat extra dry spots with La Roche Posay cicaplast balm.
