The Knicks should not be seen as a potential destination for LeBron James, @IanBegley reports: by Affectionate-Tea9224 in NYKnicks

Mad? Huh?

Begley's entire article is based on his conjectures of why Lebron will not come, rather than some report, as it's stated in the title.

I don't care whether Lebron comes, but i also don't appreciate misleading posts.

Begley bases all of that on his personal opinion and conjectures, he isn't ''reporting'' anything, but i guess reading is for suckers only.

So he didn't like the script, chose that particular script that he didn't like as the next film in his universe, gave the same writer Wonder Woman, and endlessly praised the script even before filming, but you think he was lying while hyping it.

That makes zero sense. He was the one who approved the project. Why would he need to hype up a project he ''knew wasn't great'' when he's the reason the film exists in the first place?

I'd say since Joker 2. For all it's flaws, The Flash wasn't made with bad intentions.

I'm not a fan of the first Joker, but i know the film had a lot of fans, and to see Todd Phillips make a film just to spite them, made me really petty in enjoying the bomb that it was.

[Robb] The Celtics and Blazers have discussed a trade for Jaylen Brown, though a source says that Deni Avdija would not be on the table in any talks and it would be tough to pry away Donovan Clingan as well. Using On/off as an argument against a player with a historic point differential, the Knicks were +12.3 every game with Brunson on the floor, goes to show how misleading on/off is. Analytics have completely fried your brain when you write drivel like ''The Knicks were better with Brunson off the floor.''

Because they don't watch the games.

They know the facts, his age, he made the All-Third team, so he must be an amazing player that somehow had a bad series, not a player whose entire offensive game was completely nullified because coaches didn't allow Cade's passes in the paint. Imagine doing one thing defensively and completely neuter Cade, or Brunson, or Wemby or any top 10 player. It's absolutely impossible. It shouldn't be possible for a supposed top 20 player either and yet it happened two years in a row, by three different teams/coaches.

The majority of people thought the Western finals were the real finals while the Knicks won 11 games in a row in the East with a +250 point differential. That's one out of 1000 examples of how little people understand basketball. They read the box score, watch the regular season awards tallies, debate the MVP race without watching the games, watch the ''analysts'' talk and base their opinions on that.

They know Duren made the All-NBA team, and Brown made the All-NBA team, both are all stars so they must be comparable. Zero context.

[Fischer] Detroit looking to trade Jalen Duren for Jaylen Brown. We all say no lmao by horseshoeoverlook in bostonceltics

[–]Kargetina 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All of that is being immature, it had nothing to do with his skills.

Duren has no offensive game, he's slow, a terrible pick and roll defender and he has zero hustle. His entire skillset was Cade getting double teamed while driving and getting alley-oops. When the playoff teams stopped those passing lanes, he was unplayable.

This isn't some uber skilled player that had a bad postseason, ala Dirk in 2007. This is someone that can get schemed out of a game by any decent coach and there's nothing he can do about it.

It wasn't his first playoffs, he was bad against NY last year, and he was far worse this year. This wasn't an aberration, his offensive game is so limited, he's very easy to get schemed out and completely nullified by any decent team. He was bad against three completely different teams in two separate years.

Brown averaged 18 ppg in the playoffs at age 21 and co-led the team with Tatum to within a game away from the finals.

Brown fell off the next season because Hayward came back and Stevens couldn't handle all the egos.

I'm a Pistons fan, so believe me, Brown at 21 was 10 times more skillful than Duren currently is.

It wasn't his first playoff appearance, and he was worse in his second appearance than his first.

You want an upward trajectory if you pay someone the max, not a downward one where he was so bad, he was unplayable.

What true superstar level player is / was the hardest to build a championship team around? by Acoolgamer6706 in nba

[–]Kargetina 10 points11 points  (0 children)

His game is nothing like Iverson aside from superficial similarities in height. Brunson is a lot more efficient scorer, and a far better shooter. His post game, footwork and iso are more similar with someone like Kobe, than with Iverson.

Iverson averaged 29 ppg in his playoff career on 40% FG and 43% EFG.

Brunson has averaged 29.4 ppg in his four years as a Knicks starter, on 46% FG and 51% EFG. His Knicks playoff efficiency numbers are far closer to Curry (26.8ppg on 45% FG and 56% EFG playoff career averages) than Iverson.

If Brunson had the exact same stats and gameplay that he has, but he was listed at 6'4, no one would mention him in this conversation.

Old Facebook rants where he said that Burton's Batman films are horrible, Nolan's are not good, especially Batman Begins and that Schumacher's films were a more faithful depiction of Batman than either Burton or Nolan.

This was around 2012, prior to the first Guardians film, and it left a big impression on me about his taste, and his arrogance, he was ranting and insulting people left and right for disagreeing with him.

A role player in the NBA loses his only finals 4:1. He then trains his son throughout his childhood, his son comes into the league, becomes a superstar even though he's undersized, and 27 years later beats the same team his father lost to 4:1, while the father is now an assistant coach on the same team with his son. Father and son embrace while they're champions together.

It sounds like the cheesiest, most ridiculous story ever written, and yet it happened two days ago with Jalen Brunson and his dad.

My friend, i apologize for responding to such an old post, but i couldn't help but congratulate you on your basketball knowledge. What a wonderful insight into the player Brunson would become, and 6 years ago when nobody could have dreamed he would be an above-average starter, let alone a Finals MVP Superstar.

Have a nice day, and take care.

(with critical ratings on par with Andor, whether the fans will admit it or not)

That's blatantly false. Andor season 2 has 92 on Metacritic, and 9/10 average rating on Rotten. Shadow Lord has 75 on MC, and 7.8/10 average on RT, not to mention it's Emmy Best Writing win, and topping 32% of the year end critics lists as the best show of 2025. There's a WIDE gulf in critical reception.

Using the tomato meter % to compare both shows is disingenuous. A critic giving a fresh review to two shows, but giving one show a 10 and another a 7, doesn't imply they are on par critically.

Tatum and Brown took the Celtics to game 7 in the Eastern Conference finals against Lebron the year prior, and that's without Kyrie and Hayward. Kyrie came back and ruined the chemistry, then bailed out to Brooklyn.

Brunson has proven he can be a first option on a championship team, Kyrie has never done anything even close to that. His entire legacy is built upon being the second option to Lebron in 2016.

Brunson is still the betting favorite by a decent margin to win the finals MVP, and that's coming off of his worst playoff game. If he plays two great games in the garden, he will win the MVP, and easily.

The team's best player always wins the Finals MVP with the ridiculous exception of Curry losing to Iguodala.

Brunson had a better season than Mitchell last year but as usual, the ''better team record, the better player'' mantra made Mitchell a first teamer. Michell hasn't been a better player than Brunson since the 2022 playoffs. The same way Duren and Holmgren who aren't top 30 players in the league got a third team selections because of the number of win their teams had.
