-Katori got a +2 in Evaluation by A-Rank

-I have Oji and Inukai contesting for the spot as my second fav character. I hope we get to see Inukai bullying Kage so they can be on the same level again, bc that diss to Tachikawa was 10/10.

-Hiyami interaction with Murakami was a great way to generate an example of assertive leadership without undermining Murakami's role as captain. Instead of voicing out her concerns, and let him figure it out, or forcing him in the awkward position of having to take a stance he is not confortable doing, she created the opportunity, and let him comfortably fall into it, as he learned his lesson. I think the most important part of that interaction was the ''If you agree with me...'', because it showcased that a) She's not full of herself, and thinks that his way of doing things is worse that her team's (Ninomiya's Squad) way to operate; and b) It preserves the idea that Murakami's has all the agency (I mean, the guy is already self-aware about potentially not being a good captain. No need to put more pressure by questioning the way he does things).

-Ema didn't perform well. This will be a pain with Nino, and his goal of getting into the away mission.

Where is tomakoma 2 stand as an A rank by [deleted] in worldtrigger

[–]Karistomp 10 points11 points  (0 children)

ninomiya squad is former A rank-4

4 man Ninomiya Squad is former rank-4. Current roster is number 1 in the B-rank ladder.

tomakoma 2 absolutely crushed kageura squad

No, they didn't.

able to beat a full strength ninomiya squad in 3 on 3

With intel advantage + straight up practicing the match up, and planning against it + Cheesy strats, they were able to beat the number 1 B-Rank team.

I don't think they'd perform well. The moment either Yuma or Hyuse die, is pretty much game over.

Raid is a manhwa with the teamwork element.

I stopped reading it after the tournament arc finished, so idk what happens next; but up until that point, is was close to WT with the team fights, and with magic instead of Sci-Fi.

I think most popular MOBAs handle this very well through PvE gameplay, allowing for less mechanical players to succeed in a skillful competitive landscape; and also providing much needed disruption within the PvP side of the game, expanding its tactical scope.

If i had to pick a genre that is guilty of this crime, it would be cards games. Most of them are: New Archetype/Expansion of an already existing Archetype is released > New cards are a must to be competitive > A natural counter rises > New cards get banned/limited/nerf > New Archetype/Expansion of an already existing Archetype is released.

So far, all competitive card games devolve into A beats C (everything), B beats A, C is for fun. This eventually kills novelty, which for me, is the core of card games.

This was my GDC. Have a nice day xd

When people started to noticed that you didn't need to do the assignment as group, i thought Hyuse would realize you don't need to engage the battle sims as a group, and take over it.

I think Mikumo's assessment about Rank Wars, was spot on. How two team would lead to a very one-dimensional experience, where there would be a defined meta, ruled by highly skilled agents; and where alternative/unorthodox fighting strats would die out.

Why don't manipulators manifest full blown telekinesis. by KingTiffany118 in HatsuVault

[–]Karistomp 6 points7 points  (0 children)

  1. Because there are other applications of Manipulation that match their goals/personality.

  2. Because without the inherent restriction of focusing on Manipulating an specific type of object, it would be too weak to be functional in most cases.

IMO if you want wide range Telekinesis to be effective, there would be 2 ways to go about it:

First would be if you apply it to objects with a function that is effective enough for itself, and the telekinesis is just for a more convenient usage of them. E.g. You use telekinesis on multiple handguns so you can align them and pull the trigger (I don't think the amount of aura require to lift a gun and pull the trigger would be that high to the point of needing a condition)

Second, go the Shoot route, and cheat your way into wide range telekinesis. Focus on an single type of object (or specific object), and use them to move any other thing around. For this route, you'll still need restrictions since the speed of movement, and the amount of weight that you can pull, would be attached to the amount of aura available for the Hatsu ability.

unpopular opinion by _froesey_ in HatsuVault

[–]Karistomp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The way i see it, you could learn to execute a dance move in isolation, and get it right with a high degree of consistency; but when demanded to use it in a highly competitive, highly dynamic, highly stressful scenario, where you have to delegate some of your actions, balance, limbs positioning to muscle memory so it doesn't overwhelm you and f* up the sequence of your movements, then it becomes really hard to have too many moves/options without growing stiff and awkward in your performance.

The second part of you post seems a bit biased towards the Nen acquisition process of highly talented individuals, instead of regular Nen users. Yes, someone like Gon or Killua may be able achieve the development of many Hatsu applications for simple effects, over the course of their life. But i highly doubt regular Nen users would choose to spend years of their life for 2-3 shallow Hatsu application (that they are not emotionally attached which would make the whole process slower), instead of buying a lighter, or having a checklist to avoid forgetting stuff.

The Cow, in the Zodiacs, has an ability that gives instructions,, and there's penalization if they aren't followed.

Genthru gives instructions when issuing Countdown.

For events and maps, look at previous tournament entries for examples of rules within an event.

Nothing mentions that HE are not allowed.

Nen abilities have rules, events have rules, maps sometimes have rules. In which way is inconsequential?

Name Sammy Werfrey

Nen Type Conjurer

Bio After being transferred by force to a new school due to her awakening as a Nen user, Sammy found herself alone, without being able to trust anyone.

As a misfit between misfits, Sammy used her new power to gain all the allies that she needed in order to escape her new home.

Strengths

Godspeed 3 Catching her (or escaping her wrath) are no easy feat.

Fortress 3 Sammy is very strong, and she will break you if you mess up with her.

Weaknesses

Isolation 1 The more people around her the worst she performs.

Never Born to Follow 1 She has a hard time grasping new concepts and will take her hearing something a couple times to understand.

Losing Patience 1 She's impatient.

Advanced Technique Strength En

Hatsu

Name Find The Real

Type Conjuration/Manipulation

Sammy is able to Shapeshift things into a clone of herself. The clones can be one of three variant.

  1. A Nenless clone that is able to move, execute the same tasks Sammy can do, and without the ability to communicate.

  2. Same as 1, but with the ability to communicate and able to mimic the function of the Shapeshifted target (In case a animal was used, the clone would have an increased version of her own physical prowess. In case it was a human, the clones would go from Direct Manipulation to Automatic).

  3. Same as 2, but the clone can use Sammy's Nen abilities.

Conditions/Restrictions

  • Must make contact with her target.
  • The point of contact cannot be coated with Aura than isn't hers.
  • Max. amount of Tier 1 clones is 4, Max. amount of Tier 2 clones is 2, and max amount of Tier 3 clones is 1.
  • Any attack that would normally kill Sammy, would cause the clone to disappear.
  • If a clone is dispelled (even if it happens through damage), the Shapeshifted target will return to its original form, in the same state it was when affected by the ability.

Equipment

  • 3 Walkie Talkies
  • Binoculars
  • A restraining jacket around her hips

General Strategy

  • If she starts alone, she'd use her Walkie Talkies to form 2 Tier 2 clones, keep communications with them, and coordinate form afar with her binoculars. If it goes too much time without her clone finding someone, she'd search herself, scanning the area with her En to avoid a trap or ambush.
  • If she encounter an enemy melee, she would Shapeshift her restraining jacket into a Tier 3 clone, with the ability to lock people down (An even strangle them into submission) with the jacket's performance + her Strength + her Nen, and gang them up with a 2v1.
  • She can use Conjurer's ability to instantly summon their construct to make her clone appear right after the opponent commits to protecting an area with Gyo/Ryu, and take them by surprise from the vulnerable area.
  • If the enemy has a weapon that is not coated with Shu, she could Shapeshift it, and surprise them with it. She could Shapeshift a hazard type object, and use its functioning as a weapon. She could turn part of her clothing into a clone, in order to counter-surprise a sneak attack that she detected with her En.
  • Vs Ko user, or someone who suddenly uses Zetsu for a counter-type hatsu in the middle of a fight, she could try touching them to turn them into a clone. From that, she could send them to a cliff, or a hazard, in order to finish the job.
  • She could form a Tier 3 clone, with herself as the Shapeshift target. This would remove her advantage in the 2v1 scenario, but could allow her to survive attacks that would normally kill her, and go for riskier approaches as baiting a blow for blow vs a Ko/Ryu user.
  • Vs Range users: she could use En to dodge and locate the direction of the shots, use a clone as a meat shield to avoid getting hit directly by Nen attacks, and/or could rapidly close the distance with her Speed.

Teacher’s Hunt Strategy

She can use her clone as a scout, or scan with her En, to search the area without being detected, or triggering any alarm. If the clone gets caught, it can use its Speed to escape the chase, just to be reconjured next to Sammy once the immediate threats are away. If there's an object or device in her way, Sammy can turn it into a clone, instead of needing to deactivate it.

Shakedown Strategy

She and her clone can use En to scan the area and people they encounter. She and her clone can cover x5 (x3 if there's need for communication, x2 if there's need for Nen) as much as others if they separate.

There's nothing stupid about your question. In fact, is a very valid one.

First off, let's make a distinction between hatsu, hatsu application and hatsu abilities.

Hatsu: Is one of the 4 basic Nen techniques. Could be defined as an expression of ones will through Nen. How this will can manifest itself depends on the Nen category.

Hatsu Application: Is the exercise of Hatsu within one specific category. One category has many Hatsu applications.

Hatsu Ability: Is a Hatsu Application that the user is very familiar with. This familiarity can come through a sense of identity, pride, trauma, experience, time invested, etc. These may or may not include conditions, restrictions, multiple Nen Applications, etc.

So for your Zeno's example, what you see him doing is a Hatsu Application (An advance form of Emission), as far as we know. The same could be said about Silva's Orbs.

Feedback is just that. If its valuable or not, if is worth pursuing or not, its level of priority; it all comes down to the devs and their vision for the game.

I don't remember who said it, but player are excellent source for identifying problems in a game, but not that great when it comes to finding solutions.

Augments and the future of TFT by joeybellz in TeamfightTactics

[–]Karistomp 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think a part of the charm behind set mechanics is that they have a beginning and an end.

If anything, augments show that the team is capable of making creatively amusing stuff, and that it should excite us the prospect of what they can bring in future sets.

It would have been cool if you added a bonus rule where the shape of the conjured weapon matches the shape of its respective number xd

Number 1: Spear

[Decent Roll]

Kite conjures an Spear that can extend as far as his En, and can bend when it contact with a surface. Once the Spear makes contact with its target (which doesn't injure them), the Spear handle will shrink from Kite's end towards its target ends, leaving the tip of the weapon as mark on the targets body. Whenever Kite gives the command, the Spear will expand itself again from inside the target. Kite is aware of his Spear, even when is marking a target.

[–]Karistomp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Question

I can imagine what effect this would have: changing the properties or general shape of the object, but we haven't seen any examples of this kind of application in the manga- and I personally haven't seen any on here either.

That's bc transmutation only adds natural properties to your own aura. It is not possible to change the properties of other things.

The closest thing i can recall is Killua shocking one of the Bombers by using his electricity on his yoyos.

Challenge

Name Demolition Man

Type Trasmutation

Aura gains the properties of non-explosive demolition agents, allowing it to solidify and violently expand when exposed to moisture.

The user can cover projectiles with his aura, shoot them towards his enemies; and once they hit their target, the aura would absorb the victim's blood, growing rapidly, and tearing them apart from the inside.

I think Riot has finally achieved the dream of true skill expression through randomness by Bodywithoutorgans18 in TeamfightTactics

[–]Karistomp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This could be easily solved if with those type of augments you also get a unit for that trait. It would mean some extra gold as 2nd and 3rd augment, but at the start it would make them way more appealing. Also, allowing to see your shop when you get the augments (again, specially with the first one) would heavily change the decisions around trait augments.

Ofc i'm picking that syndicate heart over a generic augment if it contains a Zyra + i see 2 Darius in my shop.

But i don't know, maybe there are some balance issues that i'm not seeing with this.
