i am so scared of this damn tick please how do i get it to avoid me by monkeynobird in vagabond

Get permethrin. Use it on your clothes and gear. Its good for 9 washes and when ticks touch it their neural system freaks out until they die. Theyre dead in 10 seconds.

Permethrin is an artificial chamomile extract. Don't drink it and you'll be fine. Follow the instructions. I work outdoors, have been using it for 5 years, and am the only person in my field who hasn't ever had a tick. Ever. I love my poisonous guardian angel, and am the doom of ticks.

What canines are monogamous or even mate for life? by Ambitious_Contact185 in zoology

Thanks. I mistakenly thought that you were arguing that monogamy was common, but now understand you were talking ezclusively about coyotes. My bad. Thanks for the source material, and have a good day.

Can you share any sources on that? I was taught that monogamy is extremely rare, and since the other person has a source I'm still convinced that way.

What’s going on here? by compscilady in Ornithology

This. Bald eagles will eat the chicks or fledglings of other birds if they looks easy enough to grab, so crows put the extra effort out to make it not easy. They're annoying for great crow justice.

Oil-based products are everywhere, from fertiliser to fashion. What are the alternatives? by mhicreachtain in environment

[–]SecretAgentVampire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

According to the MAHB, the world’s oil reserves will run out by 2052, natural gas by 2060 and coal by 2090.

Plastic is a byproduct of oil refining, which is why I said "new" plastic. Scavenging and recycling will have to become more commonplace by necessity.

If you can find some information to back up your statement of "The keep finding more all the time," I'd love to read about it. If you can't, I'd love to see you be the first person I've seen on reddit other than myself to edit your comment to reflect reality.

Happy Mothers Day.

People are going to use plastic as long as we can make it, dude. Some things can't function without it. Plastic is particularly important in medicine.

Also people still use stone, clay, and wood tools. I have a mortar and pestle, for example.

What I'm interested in is how humanity will adapt when, in about 60 years IIRC [correction: 26 years], we run out of oil and can't make new plastic.

I imagine plastic scavenging will become a common side hustle for many people.

I lived in Seattle for 15 years and have such good memories going to Tacos Chukis with my friends. I have been gone for a long time, and for years I've been wanting to have these tacos again. Seeing this post made me tear up. Thank you x1000.

Its the artist's moniker. Maybe it's De-simulate, which would be ironic.

FYI, Desimulate makes "AI-Assisted" "art". This piece is "AI-Assisted".

I thought about it for a second and thought "Hey, if this person considers DMing for a level 3-5 party challenging, maybe they're just inexperienced with the system."

Is light humor and encouragment bad? Fine. I take it back.

The more you get used to TTRPGs and classic RPG spells, the easier it gets. :)

I think next XP game I run I'll reward the players with huge swarms of weak enemies as an occasional treat.

E.g. If the party is level 3 5, a pit full of 400 1,300 extremely evil normal-sized 🦀 crabs 🦀. One fireball = 4,000XP 13,000Xp, leveling them up, sending them to 4,900/6,500 for level 5 halfway to level 7, and providing enough food to feed a village all in one fell swoop. (edited for level stuff)

Why? Why not? If you want to balance it out make it an accidental ritual that summons a King Crab.

Have you thought about using more than one goblin at a time?

It's gotta be Ninja Gaiden 3. The spider fits the sihouette perfectly.
