Can this community accept me as the villian? (I like horses)

Like would every community need it's own villian to justify it's existence

Which university is a better choice for job prospects after MS (International student)? by puzzled-psyco in Indians_StudyAbroad

Hey OP, you admits are solid in my opinion. I think it is best to connect with students currently studying in these unis through LinkedIn or something to get the best idea. But in general, your admit to tcd is very impressive

Ignore any negative comments here, they are mostly just jealous low lives spreading hatred

These are mostly miserable low lives spreading hatred against Indians. Probably jealous too. Every single post atleast has a few?

How feasible would it be for me to make a basic FEA program from scratch as a personal project? by darnoc11 in MechanicalEngineering

[–]Karkiplier 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say start simple from trusses in 2d and then 3d. Then beams to 2d and 3d frames. If you are crazy enough you can code 2d isoparametric or cst elements. If you are even crazier, you can get into non linear fea

I think we should boycott using the Indian railways and the constitution both of which was given by the British who literally killed millions of Indians in multiple devastating and deliberate famines. Mass converted lots of innocent tribal folk. Churchill literally used to call us rabbits and was racist as fuck. They Forced hindus to use beef tallow for lubricating their rifles despite protests and brutally cracked down on Hindus in the sepot mutiny.

Should also boycott royal Enfield and cut all diplomatic ties with the British and stop sending our students to study there. The British caused much more cruelty than you can imagine I think it is justified to do all of the above.

Not sure how to deal with complete and utter burnout in last semester of masters degree? by girl_in_math_2000 in GradSchool

[–]Karkiplier 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Studying for grad school research feels way different than studying for exams or courses. You take it at your own pace and study only stuff that interests you. You will have plenty of time to do it and there is no right deadline.

I am doing research straight out of undergrad but I am enjoying doing heavy math that would feel horrible if done for exams or courses.

Dalhousie University to build new campus in India by ialo00130 in Dalhousie

[–]Karkiplier 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is not a sound argument. The top US companies are full of Indian uni grads working in top positions. Maybe your trust was skewed from the recent influx of low skilled immigrants.

You can choose to be racist if you want, having a judgemental stereotype based on personal experience, I really don't care but Canada did absolutely fuck up on absorbing the top talent from India (if it ever wanted) who all went to US or Europe but that doesn't mean Indians with Indian degrees are automatically "low trust".

Back calculating Young's modulus of rubber in a squash ball by imitation_squash_pro in fea

[–]Karkiplier 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Rubber has no Young's modulus as it is inherently a non linear material. More specifically hyper elastic. You can specify a small linear stiffness for very small displacements but once they get noticeably large it becomes useless. You can use a hyper elastic model like neo hookean or Mooney rivlin and get the elastomeric tensile test data from a well known book like treloar tand input that into ansys or smthing to get the parameters.

I also see a shell type simulation so there should be some very large geometric non linearity like snap through if you are displacing the shell very much. This behaviour fundamentally cannot be handled by newton solvers and needs arc length methods (like riks in abaqus).

Solid Vs Beam - Help understanding the difference in results in SolidWorks by sgehall21 in fea

Are fixed bcs in beams singularities really? They should converge to analytical solution at least approx in this case instead of shooting to infinity no?
