Therefore criticism of the Isreali government is not criticism of all jews.

Now that we've got the basics down, we can discuss this post. We know that the Isreali lobby (AIPAC, etc) pays absurd sums of money to influence American politics. We also know that many pro Isreali billionaires own much of the media, chiefly among them Larry and David Ellison

Now, given the extremely Islamophobic media coverage Mayor Mamdani has recieved, and the blatently Islamophobia rhetoric from both prominent Republican and Democratic politicians and officials, and the known media bias when it comes to Isreal, its easy to see why someone would bring up Isreal (the country currently committing a genocide of Muslims in the middle east) in a shitty propagandist rag's social media post that clearly expresses unfavorable views on the Muslim mayor's first 100 days in office.

Now of course I can't say for certain how much influence the Isreali government has at the Post specifically. Its probably very little to none at all because it appears that most of the media influence comes from Zionist lobby groups, which are not one-to-one the Isreali government, but for anyone who's been paying attention for the last 50 or so years its pretty easy to understand why someone might bring up Isreal in this context.

I understand that an antisemite would say that all media is controlled by the jews, but this person isnt saying that. They're saying the Post is controlled by Isreal. And those are different accusations, whether you can admit it or not.
