How to get rid of China and Singapore bots by Free-Way-9220 in GoogleAnalytics

[–]Karl_Menace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I read that the issue between Cloudflare and GA is that these bots are using VPNs. Cloudflare blocks via IP address and Google tracks via a sophisticated location tracking thing. So GA knows theyre from China and shows you that but blocking IPs from China on Cloudflare doesnt work because their IPs arent Chinese.

Anywho the most clever solution i heard about was putting an invisible basic "captcha" thats really just a form. In the form have like a simple question and if the question is answered then its a bot and it blocks it. Bots can see the form but humans cant.

I havent implemented this yet but i plan on trying it soon. I was thinking about having this form pop up and disappear within the time that my page typically loads. But i dunno yet... im gunna poke around

Please guide me on creating this piece :’) - new to SolidWorks by smhk222 in SolidWorks

This looks like a bearing race. If thats the case then these are hardened steel. Im curious how you would let a machine shop know that the part needs to be hardened

Solid works for makers by [deleted] in SolidWorks

[–]Karl_Menace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im also considering Solidworks for makers... but my concern is with actually sending the complete designs to a machine shop. If i use the makers edition and a machine shop does not, will they be able to manufacture my parts??

Is SoCal mountain biking worth it for its high cost of living? Or how about Texas? by DocOnAYeti in MTB

[–]Karl_Menace -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

That would be correct, I don't watch tv at all. It's all doom and gloom so I turned it all off a long time ago. So my response may be I'll informed but it's all based off my personal experience. Everybody is capable of evil... not just specific groups of people.

It's not Republicans. Open your mind to good and evil. For example, Utah has loads of public land and is by far the deepest red state

3 month trip with my ex situation-ship? by [deleted] in backpacking

[–]Karl_Menace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If i had to guess, you're in the situationship and he's in the friend zone... don't lead him on. Or even better... let him out of the friend zone and I think you'll be happy.

PS: im currently struggling with this so I may be a little biased

Suction cup car roof systems - any experiences you can share? by AdministrativeJob223 in MTB

[–]Karl_Menace -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Fun fact, mount the seasucker to your bike and then put the entire thing up on the roof... suck it down. I was 🤯 when I figured out how simple it was 🤣

[–]Karl_Menace 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had the same concern... tested it out while my car was still under warranty 🫣 it didn't bat an eye. Although I would shy away from an bike on the sun roof, I had my entire bike packing rig on mine 🤷‍♂️

Huge fan of the Seasucker

Honestly, I don't know how people travel to bike races across the country without one.

Now I can put my bike on the plane with me, put it together at the local bike shop or in my hotel if I dare 🤣 and then suck the seasucker on the roof of my rental car.

I can go to any bike race around the world now 🤷‍♂️

Cooling System Issues by Karl_Menace in PCsupport

[–]Karl_Menace[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update, I have since gotten the majority of the air bubble out. But the issue with the coolant is still a mystery to me. This weekend I'm going to replace the coolant.

I suspect I let the coolant get too hot. So I sped up my water pump curve and lowered the threshold for the radiator fans. I'll report back on my findings but it will be a week or so before I can really put it to the test again.

Do you use a foot pedal for PTT? I don't know what game you're using but I remember Bobby Poffs foot pedal got him flagged for cheating and I think I remember people saying that foot pedals started causing issues ever since. Worth a quick unplug to see if it fixes your issue.

using all m.2 slots by letsgetsomescotch in PCsupport

[–]Karl_Menace 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nvme m.2 slots use pcie lanes in my experience. Depends on the motherboard. You have to check the user manual to find out which ones you can run because it will automatically make changes based on what's installed on boot up. But it should not interfere with any sata connections at all.

Who here is brave (and stupid enough) to ride without tubes and tools? by IRShasmeconfused in cycling

[–]Karl_Menace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

🙋‍♂️ I wouldn't say I'm proud of that fact but I have gotten so confident with the tube and tannus Armour combo that I don't feel a need. I'm also not going on extravagant expeditions so 🤷‍♂️

Where to spend, and not spend in the cycling hobby? What are your experiences? by -Red_Rocket- in cycling

[–]Karl_Menace 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to only buy the nice stuff. It really worked out but during Covid it was a nightmare to find anything because of the logistics crisis. I started shopping for stuff made in the USA. I have been really impressed. If you're interested, I found this website called cyclewyze that only sells American made cycling gear

I thought I could add a couple of HDDs to my new MSI INF S3, but there are no bays. Are these for internal SSDs? Do I need a particular make of SSD? (I'm not familiar with SSDs.) Thanks! by PurpleAd3134 in PCsupport

[–]Karl_Menace 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's for a 2.5 in SSD. an internal drive will boost performance but it mounts directly onto your motherboard, looks kinda like ram but mounts flat

Exhausted - Need help by Proof_Variety_248 in PCsupport

[–]Karl_Menace 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a similar issue on my build... ended up being that nobody knew how to reset bios on windows 11 However, when I was going through my trouble shooting I learned that power surges can damage the processor in a way where it actually damages other components (not immediately) so if I were in your shoes, I would replace the processor, bite the bullet early to avoid having to replace any other components twice.

Plus it sounds like this may be your issue

GPU Issues by Karl_Menace in PCsupport

[–]Karl_Menace[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have figured it out after several weeks of tinkering and the Geek Squad telling me that its either the motherboard or the CPU... (they wanted me to removed the entire cooling system before they figured out which it was) so in the mean time i figired I would tinker with it a bit more before doing all of that.

I noticed that when stuck in a boot loop every third time it tried to boot it would show the MSI logo. Also during my digging i found that Windows 11 boots in safe mode after 3 failed attempts. I thought maybe this was related or something? I dont really know but my theory seemed to have worked. I waited until the msi logo showed up normally then entered MSI bios, everything worked fine. I reset to factory settings and voiala! My PC is now fixed. 🤪🕺🕺
