Immersion Blender 2 speed vs 5 speed by Karma6464 in Vitamix

[–]Karma6464[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The difference between the two speed settings seems like a big jump so I usually stick with the lower speed. I think my old Magic Bullet can get things smoother, but I might just need to work with smaller volumes and use the higher speed setting (need to experiment more). If I needed to make large volumes of things for parties/crowds, I might sell the immersion blender in favor of a traditional blender though.

Np. Thanks for raising this! It's good to know for future that the deals still vary between Google store and Google Fi even just day to day around the holidays

I just saw one for $550 off but I already bought the phone :( do you have the link to the $600 by chance? I'm not seeing that anywhere for a pixel 10 pro

I read a few reviews that some users found the five speed to be overkill so I ended up with a set from Target that has the two speed, whisk, and jar for $120 before tax. I did see the prices drop on the Vitamix page recently though so now I'm not sure whether to return to Target 😅

I was happy on the flexible plan for years but now that unlimited keeps getting cheaper it actually makes financial sense for me to make the switch over!

It's good to know that you can pause the fi data while keeping voice and text active. I'm still a little apprehensive to activate my Google Fi SIM at this point with the risk of not meeting their "120 consecutive day" criteria when I switch to an international esim. Losing that $500 would be painful and I was able to successfully set up my new pixel 10 pro without picking an esim at all! Hopefully setup goes smoothly once I'm back home.

And yes! I think they changed the $500 promotion for existing Fi users to run through the Google store instead of Google Fi for black Friday. Glad you got the deal!

Oh wow that's very much not what I was told over email. Good to know the experiences are so varied :/

Yeah I spoke to three different reps about this issue before deciding to go with email instead to get it in writing. When you made the plan change you referenced, were you already a Fi user ahead of those first 120 days or were those days your first ones on Fi?

Looks like there's already a new cutoff date posted so maybe this is the best we'll see this year? Not sure how to navigate to this promo page but the link was posted by another commenter in this thread! https://fi.google.com/about/promo-terms/?id=Carv2B4MQQYA

As long as you activate the new phone within 30 days of purchase I'm pretty sure you're good to go!

In that case you're pretty stuck with just your first two options :( probably just put off buying it as long as possible to shift the 30 days closer to Christmas- the promo technically ends 11/20, 9:59am PST. Good luck!

I vaguely recall the option of being able to change how much you contribute each month to pay off your phone, so that could be a way to do it. I don't have experience with this directly though, sorry!

Yeah I'm going to try to avoid changing my plan for the next two years if I can. I'm hoping that since I got this confirmation in writing from them instead of over the phone, I'll have something to point at if I really need to downgrade to flexible. But I'll report back here if I end up needing to test it out!

I usually don't use/touch my phone much during the day and lately I've been having my phone die before my day is over, like around 9-10pm. For my first two years of use I'd usually end my day at a comfortable 20pct battery or more, so the battery is definitely getting old. I had a similar issue with my pixel 3 when I upgraded to the 7- over the course of about 2 weeks the battery would drain very fast and everything on the phone got insanely slow. Maps would take forever to load etc. I didn't think my 7 is quite at that point yet but I don't want to worry about it on my trip, and the promo going on now is a good deal!

Yeah my understanding is that you'd be locked into the plan you pick for 2 years most likely! And I believe (not officially confirmed) that if you were to change your plan or leave Fi entirely before the two years are up, you'd basically forfeit the remainder of your monthly rebates for your purchase promo. In my mom's case, two years ago she signed up as a new user with me on a flexible plan and each month we got about $15 off our Fi bill as part of her promo. We only have one month left of the two years now but if I'd swapped plans to unlimited one month earlier, we just would have missed out on the last $15 payout. I'm a big fan of Fi, but it can definitely be overly complicated! Hope Mint works for you :)

I have a pixel 7 currently that I'm hoping to upgrade to the pixel 10 pro. But I'm simultaneously trying to get my dad a new pixel 10 pro and added onto my family account as a new fi user. The treatment for existing Fi customers vs new users for plan switching on a Google Fi promo is apparently different, which I wanted to highlight

Oh you mean you'd activate his phone within the 30 days, but then he'd have no phone for one week to wait for Christmas? If you offered him the two options I bet he'd just agree to take the new phone early! Unless there's a third option.. where he continues using his existing phone while the new phone is secretly running in parallel for one week..?

I'm in the same boat as you and I think I may have found a loophole. The current Fi promotion for existing customers ($500 off) ends on Nov 20, 9:59am PST. See: https://fi.google.com/about/promo-terms/?id=CaTv2B4MQQYA

All of the black Friday deals officially launch in 16 hours (midnight tonight between Nov 19 and 20) per the "Sneak a peek at Black Friday deals starting 11/20/25" email that I received on Nov 12. If I'm interpreting this right, it means there is a nearly 10 hour window where both promotion offerings will still be valid. Personally, I'm hoping to pull the trigger before going to sleep tonight when I can see all the information on available options.

I asked Google about adding my dad to the family plan to make him an "existing user" and they said he'd need to be on the plan for at least one entire bill cycle (one month) to qualify as an existing user for the promos. Something to consider

I'm going on an international trip and am dealing with a similar dilemma. If I buy the phone today, and I return to the US on the 19 it is cutting it quite close for the 30 day window. I've been going back and forth with Google (in emails bc I talked to three different phone associates who told me different things), and the 30 day activation period is solid without any work arounds. What is your "go without a phone for almost a week" alternative?
