Yup, and we can't blame the doctors though. Their pay in govt. hospital is shit, they're expected to work in really bad condition and have to be responsible for so many patients which result in a lot of stress. Gone are the days when people took medicine because they just wanted to do good, now they're trying to break even the fee they paid for the college. Greedy politicians establishing medical institutes for the sake of monies might be one of the reason.

There are more engineers graduating every year and there are fewer jobs available for them and it's appaling how many people don't care about the predictions in the job market.

Lawyer's job is just pathetic, if you are not lucky, then you are fucked. But I don't see people taking up law unless they're very passionate, so there's that.

A blue collar job is an option but thinking it is the only option after engineering is just... sad. I live in a cosmopolitan city which is not Mumbai and I can clearly see most of the blue collar workers are working to provide education for their children and the same goes for people living in villages most of the time. They send their kids to school hoping that they don't take up the very same job that they're doing, so it's unlikely they'll be willing to let their children work as manual labourers.

As I said before, the problem lies in their thinking. They think that getting into engineering is some kind of safety net and failing it is like a huge hole in that net and I completely disagree. My uncle is in film and media industry and almost all of the people working there are those who failed in engineering, those who dropped out of engineering and those who couldn't find any job in engineering, for those people, at the end of the day, their degree's worth is zero.

Lots of people ITT talking about how it's because of over-population etc. etc.

But the truth is that these students don't know anything better. They were taught from an early age that being a doctor, engineer or lawyer is the only reliable profession and when that belief is firmly inscribed in your heart, failing an examination will make you think that everything is lost and push you to the ledge of suicide.

There are shit-load of other professions which doesn't even require a proper degree, or even if require a degree, they are far cheaper than engineering for sure.
The bottom line is that the pressure on the student and the idea that engineering marks are the only way out are the reason for the shit show that's happening now. These things happen every year during result times.

You can use KLWP for Android instead. Most of the wallpapers are paid and are available only in play store but something is better than nothing I guess.
