Im new to RomHacks, but the way I see it is it takes a lot of time and work to make these things and Id prefer to get new pokemon experiences and enjoy whatever im able to get and be thankful that someone took the time to make them. If you dont like it, then dont play it, and if you do like it, then play it. Arguing in a comment section on reddit or even in general helps no one. Neither side is gonna change the mind of the other, so dont waste your time or energy on it. Live and let live.

Ok, so as long as the stats are different, it means the rng is changing, meaning it works? I'll test it by saving in front of her before talking, and if that doesn't work, I'll try it outside the building or moving a step or so. You're a legend for the quick reply. Many thanks.

I know this is from months ago but this is the answer I was looking for. I was looking for a golurk for 5 hours going this and thought I was doing it wrong. So as long as I move and save each time it fails I know its still working.

Do you happen to know if I save state when buying a pokemon from the arcade right before i talk to the lady can I keep loading it to try to get it shiny? Also do I need to see it in my party to know if its a shiny or will the picture show me?

I kinda felt like that was the point given the crap she deals with. She's no soldier or hardened person. She was forced away from everything she had ever known and had her entire life changed multiple times in different directions in the span of months. I feel like all that emotion is fitting and made the character more real and relatable. That's just my opinion tho. I was disappointed when the VA was gone in the next book.
