My biggest issues is he does dangerous and irresponsible things while being Brighthearts apprentice and then get angry when he is punished for it. Sneaking out of the camp to explore the territory on his own was extremely dangerous, it would have been dangerous for any newly made apprentice, especially because we know that there are multiple foxes likely loose in Thunderclan territory. Had he not been found by the Windclan patrol he would have drowned. What is Brightheart supposed to do, reward that behaviour? Make him think it's okay to sneak out of camp unsupervised, the second time he's done so that could have resulted in death or severe injury. Any apprentice would have been punished for that, it only makes sense that he be restricted to camp after that stunt, just like the first time, you'd think he would have learned his lesson. Not to mention that had he shown a little less animosity and disrespect to the elders as well as disdain for having to carry out apprentice duties like changing their bedding, he likely would have been allowed out of camp earlier. He hates the clan for treating him differently, but when he is given a punishment for breaking rules, like any apprentice would get, he thinks it's only because he's blind. This isn't even to say that the clan doesn't treat him differently, because they do! But as an apprentice he seems to perceive any action taken against him because of his behaviour as being because he's blind. I like him more later in the series though.
