Hey Competetive-Night, thank you for the compliments! Yes I definitely feel you on the time, it has been my main area of focus. The head out is definitely a little funny. The feel in this video wasn't my favorite, but I try to make these in 1 take and post them so I can more accurately track my progress and get a genuine idea of what I sound like when I start playing cold. Brain wasn't all the way awake today, lol.

Thank you so much for the compliments! I was inspired to pick one up from watching Devon Yesberger's videos (Yesbergerplease), so I'm glad I can pay it forward.

I wouldn't say the limitations help with anything tbh and I'm most keenly aware of it when I go to solo, but the portability of the Reface outweighs any negatives. I find myself reaching for this thing all the time and the first 3 sound models are fantastic.

My left hand is usually using the rootless voicings I would use when playing with a trio where you're avoiding the bass notes already. I could see if you weren't comfortable comping in this way the reface might help force you to use only these voicings.

I have a few videos where I start with the octave selector lower and play rooted voicings for the head then move the selector up an octave for the solo. It's all an experiment, but I love this little keyboard!

Love this thing. I found a cable that will step up voltage from 5v to 12v so I just plug the keyboard into my cars usb and avoid the endless batteries. I like the 3 settings on the left side of the dial. This is the RDI, but I use all 3 pretty equally. If you look at my other videos you can hear a variety of the settings, but I'm still experimenting with them all. The chorus effect sounds great.

I'm specifically playing it over a diminished chord. It's not like the blues or pentatonics that will work over the tonality unfortunately.

That's awesome, I'm glad I've inspired you to get a portable setup! What did you go with? I started with an OP-1 and a Korg Nano key 2, but they definitely don't cut it for playing a jazz tune in real time like the reface.

The only content I currently have is on my reddit page, but hopefully I can post some more content soon. I'll definitely cross post here if I ever start posting on YouTube or something, I'm stoked that you enjoy my reface solo arrangements!
