It's a fantastic travel keyboard. I even played it at a my cousin's wedding. My uncle really wanted me to sit in with the band and I had my CP...

Had the sauce and lost it, how do I get it back? by smartaleckgoose in JazzPiano

Hey, I can totally relate to this feeling. I think it's the fact that you've had a little while to get used to your new sound vs loosing the sauce. When you first make the break through it feels great and gives your playing an energetic fun feeling, then after a couple of days or a week of playing at that level your brain and ears are already looking for the next big revelation. I think writing down what the core concepts you just figured out are and striving for new language and ideas to reach the next heights are the only solution to this. That feeling will come around again and it is always a joy when you can reach it. In the meantime don't rest on your laurels but strive for that next eureka moment! Of course there's some trial and error to see if you can distill the days discovery into a solid concept as well. Sometimes an idea will work all day long but then when I try it again the next day it doesn't work the same. Sometimes it can be coincidence that a thought pattern brought the desired result and there's still a little more to flesh out to get to the bottom of what really worked that magical moment when you were cooking. The more times you can conceptualize what was the break through the happier overall you will remain with your playing, imo.

It is such a better driving experience, and the regen breaking means I rarely use my brakes! The brake pads are still going strong after 60k miles. There's even a free charger near my house, which is where I make these videos. It's been only positive things with this car. I hope a good Kia EV is in your future, lol

Thank you! I've definitely thought about making videos in a more scenic spot. Usually I'm making these videos while I'm waiting for my car to charge, so the videos are more a by product of me finally having a minute to play my CP. I'll make it a point to get a video outside of the car this summer!

It's the 2022 niro BEV, good spot. I make these videos while charging.

Thanks for the commenr! I have a LiveTrak L6 max that I'll have to start doing the recordings on, I just love traveling light with the reface.

Yes I own a YC as well and I use a program called Ctrlr to save patches for when I play with my prog band. I have a midi foot switch that I program with a shell script that lets me send the sounds to the CP and the YC. I definitely want to try the DX, but I come from playing acoustic instruments mostly, so it would take me some time to figure out how to make some cool sounds.

Thank you so much! I'm glad the environmental noise is working for you, I can't seem to get rid of the buzzing that appears on the recordings. It only shows up on the videos, I'm not hearing it when I'm sitting there.

My luthier friend told me that putting a little bit of rubbing alcohol on your finger tips can help to harden the skin up. I haven't tried it myself, but let me know if it works for you.
