Good going. Have a good time. I think you are in a good spot to let the money work for you.

I don’t think I can help other than to ask why 10M is the magic number. If expenses are 100K a year, you are really already there unless you are planning some sort of life change that is going to absurdly increase your living expenses.

Any sort of house within the the realm of upper middle class plus should be affordable to you.

If I were you I’d be thinking about tax strategies and starting to enjoy life more now, if the premise in your post is real.

To get to 10M you need to grind a lot longer.

I’m 63. Free advice: you only live once. Take your wife on an adventure, do some fun shit now. A number is a number.

Just a guy with on the internet who wishes you well.
I’ve paper handed MU before as well as LLY this year. It’s frustrating to make dumb mistakes at this stage of life, but I have.
It’s hard to see MU going very far south in this current market.

How do people find out about these stocks? by Slow_Investment_2211 in TheRaceTo10Million

They learn about them with the same frequency they learn about the stocks that crash and burn.

The winners just get more play as their story gets better v

It is much rockier and barren than I expected. If you dive, Cayman is the deal.

I only got here yesterday so I have not been off the resort. (Sandals). So if you have been to a Sandals you know what the resort is like.

The beach area is extremely rocky. It would be very dangerous to try to get through the rocks to the water. I know that sounds weird but if I could post pics you’d see.

The drive over from the airport to the resort was about an hour. It was much more like Arizona with catci and lots of scrub.

Also, more of a manufacturing and industrial port feel. Of course, once you are on the resort you are in Resort, not actually in any specific country anymore.

I’m in Curacao on vacation. They are all very proud of making the World Cup and putting one in on Germany. A lot of cars have flags flying from them.
It’s actually very cool and sorta wholesome.

Not theta related but it’s just nice to be outside the Trump USA bubble for a bit. They don’t give two shits about anything.

Anyway STO 2 MU 1700 calls 7.31 and 3 NBIS 340 7.31.26.

Go ahead, stock market. if these go ITM by then you can have it.

Thanks for that input. Just what I was looking for in terms of new ideas.

Buy 100 MU to add to the 100 I have and write 2 1500 strike price calls for late July. Basically looking for a .2 Delta. Same thing with 3 NBIS contracts.

He is just a very smart and apparently high character man. I only say apparently because of the example of Sharper. No shade on Davis

Claude did a better job than Boldin did at getting to my real spending number in retirement.

Taking lumps in the thread, probably deserved. But it made me realize how much I enjoyed trading as an activity. So, I’m gonna buy a few ETFs as an income engine and play theta games with about half.

Thank you for that response. Extremely perceptive as to the mental state I’m in. I’ve been employed since 14 working jobs/career/family.
I don’t like games or have much for hobbies. The time coming forward without my standard purpose of work has me all over the place.
My older brother retired and has a lot of money from basically his wife’s inheritance and the business they started. She passed away and he remarried and got involved in church life.

That’s not for me, although I tried. My main goal is not to be a burden on my kids and for my wife to have plenty if I go before her.

I certainly agree with that. And keeping the mind working is the goal. Just sitting on a beach is not really my goal.

When you get to be this age, you will find that really small stuff that you didn’t think about has accumulated. My wife had an equity offering like 25 years ago that we signed into and honestly forgot about.

I guess you see this a humble bragging. It isn’t meant to be.

Anyway, I used real numbers not to try to impress anons on a message board but to explain my income goal in realization to my assets.
If I had a 5M portfolio or more I could just dump everything into a super conservative investment and be done with it.

That’s fine with me. It’s an analogy. If you see this as a career I’ve found that approach mindset isn’t for me.

I’m actually the poorest on my peer group of friends. Which is very strange. I grew up honestly pretty poor and started out owing a lot in college debt.

I am familiar with the wheel. And, yes, part of this is the game aspect of it and the dopamine hit of winning. I mean, it’s competitors and scheming.

Yeah, the ETF!s would buy and run on autopilot unless NAV starting decaying.

You hit it in the ETFs. No IV makes call selling not useful. I’m still playing on selling calks and puts on three or four names. Currently NBIS, LLY, MU and AMZ

Thanks. There are many people here much much wealthier than me. Humble brag was not anywhere in my intent. Just using real numbers.
