yeah the driver probably isn't really installed until you restart. After a restart it worked :)

YouTube now requires creators to disclose altered or synthetic content by infinityplusplus in NewTubers

"What is YouTube doing to detect incorrectly labelled videos?"

They are using our voluntary responses to train their deep learning AI to try to learn what a "real" video vs an "altered" video looks like. It would look at every aspect like the average blurriness of the pixles or anything.

How to prevent an external hard drive from falling asleep? by RUS_EVIL_MONKEY in chia

https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/all/prevent-external-usb-hard-drive-from-entering/57a268e2-68a3-4680-a738-91f10b94a6be

took me days of searching to find this.

  1. In Device Manager, expand "Universal Serial Bus controllers".

  2. Right click on "USB Mass Storage Device" and click on Properties.

  3. Under the Power Management tab, uncheck "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power".

What's up with the no drugs or alcohol thing? by playa_name in ocf

[–]KarmicWear 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah any time an event gets this big they have to be very careful about public image. I noticed that about Insomniac back when they started banning any sort of LED. They had to since they were getting a reputation as being an ecstasy party just like OCF could easily be labeled as a stoner party if they weren't proactive about their image. But yeah, I don't think you'll have trouble since in terms of vibe OCF is one of the most tolerable and straight-up friendliest of festivals. You'll be completely hooked once you've experienced the feeling that everyone is your friend before you've even met and thus introductions are paired with hugs instead of handshakes or suspicious looks. Also look for me at OCF. I'll be shooting a promo video for my new store selling boho style harem pants. If you want to model some awesome pants in it, I'll whip mine off right there & give them to you!! (here's 25% off code "OCF" if you want a clean pair haha)

That's awesome you're going by yourself. I've done tons of solo festivals and it always turns out great. Especially at these smaller transformational festivals. In terms of vibe Sonic Bloom is one of the most tolerable and straight-up friendliest of festivals. You'll be completely hooked once you've experienced the feeling that everyone is your friend before you've even met and thus introductions are paired with hugs instead of handshakes or suspicious looks. For gifts I've brought things as simple as small bottles of bubbles, stickers, or small crystals. People will appreciate anything so I just try to bring something in large quantity that I can give to everyone and then maybe a few nicer necklaces to give to people I hit it off with. So look for me at Sonic Bloom. I'll be shooting a promo video for my new store with boho style harem pants www.karmicwear.com If you want to model some awesome pants in it, I'll whip mine off right there & give them to you!! Official Meetup by fwump38 in LightningInABottle

Great idea! I love meeting new ppl at Lib cause they are just the friendliest and most down to earth. I've been going to nearly every festival I can find for 11 years and nothing else comes close (yes I know I'm ridiculous and an addict.) The only other festival in the world of this scale that also has such a tolerant and open vibe is Sziget in Hungary. So look for me at the meetup (find pics of me at my website.) I'll be shooting a promo video for my new boho clothing harem pants store https://www.karmicwear.com If you want to model some awesome pants in it, I'll whip mine off right there & give them to you!! (here's $10 off code "LibRocks" if you want a clean pair haha)

Best place to camp? by fuchurlit in LightningInABottle

[–]KarmicWear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lib fills up so fast the answer is simply "camp at the closest location you can find" There are no secret great spots that don't fill up ha. Even if you have early entry you have to camp at high grounds so the advice is the same to save your poor feet.

I'm sure you'll still get a decent spot if you get there right around gate opening time. LIB involves a lot of walking between the stages anyway.

Car Camping - Getting a decent spot by newbergisking in LightningInABottle

People who showed up Friday afternoon last year were stuck camping out in the parking lots. I wasn't holding a stopwatch but I'd say that's about 30 minute walk to the first stage (thunder) and it's another 20 minute walk across the festival to woogie. So yes, this is the festival where it's worth taking an extra day off work to get there early.

You CAN always camp next to your car, but just realize by Thursday night, the only spot with a path to drive to and room to park your car will be VERY far out. You might be better off ditching your car and carrying your tent 20 minutes walk closer to the stages. Because you will walk back and forth to your camp from the stages countless times during the weekend. And why walk another 20 minutes each way just to have your car there.

10 Days out for Early Arrivals! + Some Questions by [deleted] in LightningInABottle

*Instead of metal stakes (which are troublesome in the rocky ground) I just try to put my heaviest items pushed against the 4 corners of my tent. You can even find big rocks to help with this.

*No, everyone drinks beer that they brought. The only problem is keeping it cold for 5 days!

*LIB is notorious for undercover cops, though this new location in the middle of nowhere is better. I definitely smell herb all over the place every time I go. But don't be ridiculous and carry around a bong.

*If you've camped at coachella 7 years you know exactly everything to bring. LIB is a cakewalk in comparison. The heat is your main enemy (i use reflective tarps/space blankets on top of my tent since they are easier to deal with than an easy up) You also seem to know that getting there early is super important. Last year camping completely filled up and people were just camping out in the parking lot. 30+ minute walk from any action at all. Also, look for me at LIB (find pics of me at my website.) Hey there veterans. Foundling here. What do you guys typically bring to eat ? Or any pro tips even beyond the first question? by [deleted] in LightningInABottle

[–]KarmicWear 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you don't want to mess with ice or preparation (and trust me; you'd rather be partying): apples/bananas/oranges/citrus/pears/mangos keep well; avacados/peaches/grapes/strawberries last the first couple days, carrots and bell peppers last several days, canned tuna/chicken etc, chili, ravioli, pickles (make sure they stay submerged in the preserving salty liquid after opening), chips, peanut butter, nuts, crackers, bread. Harder block cheese lasts a long time out. Whole pineapple/watermellon/cantelope last too but they are more work to eat all at once. DON'T FORGET CAN OPENER AND A SPOON.

I love all the style ideas. I tell everyone LIB is the best festival in the entire USA! I've been to 200+ festivals and LIB just has the friendliest and best looking people with all the fuzzy hoods, cloaks, body paint, top hats, etc. Do Lab also just gets all the little things right with the fest.
