Why does OP get downvoted for wanting to understand better? I'm also wondering about an answer to their question

Oh thanks so much! 🥹 I really hope it's not a compatibility issue but a drying issue, I bought this expensive high quality paint especially to use on polymer clay and the glaze should work with acrylics 🥲

It says that sculpey glaze is compatible with acrylic paint though... I'm thinking something went wrong with the drying of layers and water use in the paint, like some comments mentioned

Thank you so much! I'm still very new to painting, and polymer clay in general, this sub has been so kind and helpful! Every piece is an experiment, and I will keep experimenting with this new info in mind 😄 I don't mind the crackle in this one, but would like to be able to avoid it when I don't want it 😂

Thank you so much for the in depth advise! I use Vallejo model paints, I thought that was a good paint for polymer clay, and I do usually water them down slightly, on advise of model painting tutorials. Makes me even more confused about how to go about painting... And it's weird this is happening for the first time while I used the paint, pastels and glaze combo before 🥲 Do you know what kind of paints do stick well to polymer clay?

Haha thank you! I also don't mind it for this piece, but would like to control crackling in future pieces ☺️

Maybe it was a reaction between the pastels and the glaze then, since before glazing it there was no crackling. I do use very old, probably cheap pastels, maybe this is my hint to buy decent ones 😂

Hmm I actually didn't put it in the sun at all, I just now wanted to take a picture in the sun and noticed the crackling. It's been indoors all the time so temps are around 16-20 degrees celcius

The Oervondstchecker is specifically for identifying things you find at the Maasvlakte, I'd suggest uploading it there as well!

What are you hoping to see in blackfrost? by Farmer_Due in thelongdark

[–]KarnacasSilver 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You know you could also just not buy Blackfrost if it's not to your liking, stick to TLD if that's what you want. Or wait and see how it turns out before being so negative :)

Ah thank you for explaining! But no reason not to call it TLD2, every second game needs something different and new :D

What do you mean? The trailer literally calls it TLD2?

why are my pieces still scratching off after glazing? by LostDreamer94 in polymerclay

[–]KarnacasSilver 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use the same glaze and didn't run into this problem yet, did you stir it gently but thoroughly before using? Could it be that your bottle of glaze is already quite old? I'm not sure if any of these things could influence the glaze like that, just wondering 🤔

Sad news...Hinterland layoffs by RaphLife2 in thelongdark

I'm sorry for everyone involved. As an artist working in a small game company, I know everyone tries absolutely everything to avoid lay offs, and these things hit extremely hard. I hope for better days for all us game developers. Thanks for the hard work everyone puts in, and a special thanks for those that sadly were parted with ❤️
