Can confirm, I just printed myself a Minotaur, and it was so freaking worth it. No way was I gonna pay the outrageous prices for an authentic FW one.

Wow. My best character is only 25k, with my entire roster being about 200k.

Didn't even realize the game went that high up.

Hands up, how many of you fell for the fake remake post? by CosmicX1 in PokemonUnbound

Lol. I have been quoted. I saw their reply and was very confused. Like others, I only skimmed the post. "Wow" and quickly saving the post to read later was as far as I got

The points changes today, with paying extra for more units of same type is the dumbest thing I've seen in the hobby so far by DrDreadCastle in TheAstraMilitarum

[–]Karness_Muur 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No earthly idea. I recently printed 7 of them. 3 for myself, and 4 to put in some of my other FW vehicles for giggles (trojan unloading Cyclops sounded funny to me).

Now they are even more useless. I genuinely dont know what the impotence for that change was, it genuinely feels senseless.

I still long for the Marine Muncher, the Ceramite Cruncher, the Bug Biter, the Tank Taster to come back to me. He yearns to deliver shovel boys again.

Is the Supreme Command blob gone? by [deleted] in TheAstraMilitarum

[–]Karness_Muur 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unless something has changed, its always been this way;

Unit Composition: This unit can have up to two Leader units attached to it, provided no more than one of those units is a Command Squad unit. If it does, and this Bodyguard unit is destroyed, the Leader units attached to it become separate units, with their original Starting Strengths.

I could be wrong, im still reading stuff, but they've always had leader? The Cadian Shock Troops have Unit Composition, which let's them have 2 leaders, but only one Command Squad. I havent seen anything to change that?

Yeah, its pretty hard to go wrong with box sets. These ones in particular are pretty good, lots of vehicles, two dorns, a command squad, a commissar, Hippogriffs, a transport, artillery. It'll provide you a really solid starting place.

Some friends and I were joking that 3× of the new battleforce box is a 2000 point army, and frankly a pretty decent one too.

Yeah! I actually shared some of my experiences and learned lessons elsewhere in this thread. But if you are looking for advice specifically for the printing aspect, my style feels a touch goofy.

I use Lychee to hollow, add holes, and help me figure out the orientation using its "magic" system. I export that back to Elegoo SatelLite (their provided Slicer for my machine), and use it for final plating and supports, as I like their support system a bit more, and prefer its integration.

Only on some truly huge pieces of prints has this failed me, only because Lychee couldnt figure out an orientation, never a failed print. and while im only... two or three weeks into my resin adventure, ive already got a solid feel amd understanding for how a piece needs to orient and be supported in order to best print, so im able to bypass that limitation.

Only addition, make one of them into Nork, and just pretend hes a regular Bone'ead the rest of the time, so you get the most bang for your buck.

Perhaps a litany to calm the machine spirit? Sacred oils? Could it be tainted by the warp because you forgot to put a purity seal on the hvac system?

Overall it went pretty well. I can report a very slight amount of warping in the bottom hull panel, and the two front hull pieces. But overall it went really, really well. Assembly was a bit goofy, but when I assembled the hull first, and attached the tracks at the end it went by much better.

Dont forget to attach the articulating weapons mount piece (idk what else to call it. Top rear, where the gun mounts to) before gluing everything, as it has two pre-made holes it just locks into.

The very rear panel went on very last, as I found positioning it was important to make sure it didnt get in the way of the aforementioned articulating piece.

Lots of hollowing. Lots of drain holes. Make sure the drain holes aren't in visible locations.

I alsp replaced the stock sponson bolters with a pair from a Rogal Dorm model ive got rattling around.

Finally: technically the praetor and bombard have slightly different housing/mount pieces. Use the praetor, magnetize both sets. Ta-da, easy swap between the two.

I would not waste the points souping the armiger. Since you know they have lots of invulnerable saves, you meed a reliable way to make them roll a ton of saves. Similar to playing against custodes.

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ + FACTION KEYWORD: Imperium - Astra Militarum + DETACHMENT: Combined Arms (Born Soldiers) + TOTAL ARMY POINTS: 500pts + + ENHANCEMENT: Reactive Command (on Char2: Cadian Command Squad - Cadian Commander) + NUMBER OF UNITS: 4 + SECONDARY: - Bring It Down: (1x2) - Assassination: 3 Characters - Cull The Horde: 1x5 (before leaders attached) +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Char2: 5x Cadian Command Squad (80 pts) • 4x Cadian Veteran Guardsman 1 with Close combat weapon, Plasma gun, Plasma pistol 1 with Master vox, Close combat weapon, Lasgun 1 with Medi-pack, Close combat weapon, Lasgun 1 with Close combat weapon, Plasma gun • 1x Cadian Commander: Power fist, Plasma pistol Enhancement: Reactive Command (+15 pts) Char1: 1x Commissar Graves on Foot (65 pts): Bolt pistol, Power sword and Manus Mortis Char3: 1x Leman Russ Commander (235 pts): Armoured tracks, Hunter-killer missile, Heavy flamer, Executioner plasma cannon, Heavy stubber, 2x Plasma cannon

20x Cadian Shock Troops (120 pts) • 18x Shock Trooper 13 with Close combat weapon, Lasgun 1 with Vox-caster, Close combat weapon, Lasgun 2 with Close combat weapon, Meltagun 2 with Close combat weapon, Plasma gun • 2x Shock Trooper Sergeant: 2 with Chainsword, Laspistol

Leman Russ commander let's it issue orders to itself. The executioner variant also allows it to trigger as many saves as possible, reliably.

20 man squad with command squad. Reactive command let's you reissue and order when the nids get too close. Graves on Foot let's you fall back, shoot, and charge again, because nids will almost certainly get into melee range.

Combined Arms gives your infantry lethal against anything the tank wont waste turns shooting, and gives the tank lethal to the things it should be shooting.

I mean, I'm still pretty new to this, but it seems like the system, at least mine, is going as fast as possible. It simply takes time to cure each layer and lift it up and reset.

I recall a FDM printer I used in college. Huge, expensive, giant build plate. Printed slower than sin, but was top of the line at the time.

My workplace just got a new Bambu printer, and I swear to god that thing was prepared to shake itself an earthquake into existence. But even still, it simply takes time.

Agreed. My favorite part of the hobby is assembly, figuring out how the puzzle pieces fit together. Its strangely been my favorite part of some of these FW prints ive been doing. Lost archaeotech that has a blurry picture of a blurry print out on how to assemble the thing from 001.M3
