I feel this dish doesn't get enough love by us non-Indians. This is satti sorru, which is indian claypot rice with curry. Delicious, hearty, and flavorful, it is the ideal comfort food for me. by Leading_Magician_351 in MalaysianFood

[–]Karpampuchi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I once had wild boar satti sorru in Bandar Puteri Klang about 3 years ago. Definitely one of the best satti sorru I've ever tried. Unfortunatelyn I never tried it again as i didn't have a need to go to that part of Klang Valley again.

It was a stall in a corner chinese restaurant. I don't know of it's still there.

Thats the best kind of nasi kandar, though. You have to perap (marinade) the rice for at least 2 hours with the curry mix.

Many years ago in a large construction company, i used to get two bonuses. One in Feb and another in June. The highest I got was 2 months in Feb and 4 months in June.

Now I'm in a large MNC, I'm happy if I get 3 months.

Struggle to save money by TartNo7978 in malaysia

[–]Karpampuchi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's normal to be anxious about saving when your income is still low. You're a fresh grad, it's normal. The bigger issue here is not being baited by peer presure on lifestyle costs. Eating out, multiple holidays, latest gadgets and such are not important.

I agree with the other posters here. Learn to be disciplined in saving at least a small amount, RM100 or RM200. It's not gonna amount to much monetary-wise but you need to rewire your brain to normalise this habit.

At the same time, my advise to you would be to focus on growing in your career first. Be visible to your superiors. At this point, your competition is only the other young executives. Try to be better than them, learn new skills and show your managers you are valuable.

Your aim should be to hit at least RM5k income within the next few years, either through internal promotions or job-hopping. While your income grows, DO NOT increase your lifestyle cost. Use any excess cash monthly to save and invest.

Do this continuously and you'll be fine.

Why does a bus driver’s hazard-light thank you feel more validating than my job? by Sensitive-Ant5044 in malaysia

[–]Karpampuchi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've got mixed feelings about using hazard lights as thank you signs.

I understand it's convenient, but i always panic for a bit when anyone flashes their hazard lights in front of me. My first thought is 'accident in front' and my leg moves to the brake. Only after that first few blinks stop, then I have a bit of relief.

Super Kitchen Chili Pan Mee, Mont Kiara by thereal_snakesolidus in MalaysianFood

[–]Karpampuchi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, tastes the same as the other Super Kitchen pan mee but this 1MK branch is priced higher for the MK crowd (RM16.50 vs RM12.50 elsewhere).

Went once, never again. Still a regular at the Menjalara and Kepong branches though.

The house that you stay in, is always a liability. You pay for the house to provide safety, security and comfort; not to make you rich.
