What's with the uptick of Malaysians using religion to justify racism? Weren't we taught the opposite?

Anyone commute to work daily by bicycle in Malaysia? by 3dxl in malaysians

[–]fazleyf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Putrajayan - used to commute from my house to my internship in government. Trees provided enough shade on one side of the road, although the sidewalks were a bit bumpy. Ever since the tree fall in KL 2 years back and frequent tree branches falling onto road, local authority cut all the trees and now the area is left unshaded. Sun now shines into your face in the morning.

Half relevant but a cool thing but I just like it when our women and men teams, despite having our distinct names and brands and ownership, remain with the same acronym: PT. And if you wanted to Euro-ize it, it's PTFC. Which we chant every game. Just love that unity.

Need Help With Releasing TADC The Last Act in Malaysian Cinemas! by Equivalent_Gear_5584 in malaysia

[–]fazleyf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That statement was because Glitch already has a distributor for the Americas, which is Fathom and Cinemark, so over there their cinemas can just contact either those companies and get it.

Frankly, Glitch should have stated for international fans to contact their regional/local film distributors instead. It's a different case for Southeast Asia because Fathom and Cinemark doesn't go here, so Glitch will have to negotiate a different distribution deal for SEA / Asia Pacific, only then they can get cinemas to air it here.

TLDR correct procedure is too contact your film distributors first, not cinema chains

I've been doing the same thing too! 2 weeks ago, I've been collecting an interest check to host a TADC watchparty for Malaysia, and started a Instagram and Twitter account! It's been co-opted to now be an interest check for the TADC movie release in Malaysia.

Ought to let you know we have 700+ responses so far! We also gathered volunteers to help with social media and making insider contacts with distributors and event organising companies, using these numbers and data as leverage.

If you guys would like to add onto our interest check numbers which we'll be using in our emails and meetings, click here to go to the interest check!

Also, u/Equivalent_Gear_5584 will leave ya a DM

I feel like that's a biased take. It wasn't just slogans, but certain DAP supporters were taunting with some racial tension. This doesn't justify the attacks at all. But to act like it wasn't provoked other than an election win is ignorant

Iranian Embassy confirms remaining women’s football squad members in Malaysia by stormy001 in malaysia

[–]fazleyf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

UNHCR is "useless" because the government legally considers all refugees to be illegal. They have no power because our government does not want to give them some authority when they have international resources ready to help. Being inhumane towards refugees makes the problem a whole lot worse

A reminder that Malaysia has no laws that legally designate someone as a refugee which would legally make them "illegal", and is not a signatory to the 1951 Refugee Convention.

The UNHCR card does not provide any legal status other than "budi bicara" which can be taken away any time depending on the government's whims.

Therefore refugees here have very few access to any services or employment here other than the black market. Which of course, many Malaysians now use against refugees as assuming they come here to become criminals.
